#9. Don't discuss or hype chapter spoilers before Sunday release, only comment if is related to a series surviving status and do it only inside the spoiler tag.

Regarding rule #9, an exception will be made for when we have new series, in this case, spoilers will be allowed only for the first 3 chapters of a new series for the users who are interested in knowing informations and details about the new series, these spoilers will obviously be kept under tags to protect anyone that doesn't want to be spoiled, so don't worry about it.

Kinato is super weird right now like it's showing no signs of an axe despite being in the bottom of the magazine. I'm guessing Jump is betting on volume 1 being a kiyoshi tier seller. Jump editorial can super weird sometimes.

Well, I liked what I saw and thought of it as unique. What are your thoughts on this week's one-shot, as well as the jump giga ones?

Overall, I think the one-shot has potential for a full series, but I do think Yuu has a lot of creative ideas in his head, so he could deliver some interesting works later down the line. I think He and Yuta Kato have potential for a future series in the magazine, so let us see how the other three one shots fare off.

I think it’s a cool one-shot and has an amazing concept. I know someone who is translating the one-shot now so I will have a better understanding on how the characters are speaking. But other than that, I know what the theme and somewhat premise is.

I read the oneshot, the proper title is Shanghai Longren. The premise is quite interesting at least, it's about a Chinese mafia family whose heads divided up and ate a baby dragon between them, gaining powers from the part they ate. The two MCs are the heiress and her butler who left the family (the butler also having gained dragon powers), and are now taking out the mafia stopping their crimes.

I don't see it being a hit as it is now since how it all played out was too much of a by the books Jump battle shounen, but with stronger characters and perhaps a more emotional core it could be good.

Yes, that’s the premise.

Tier 1 (Great):

1 - Ichi the Witch (Right, so Amaduro and her family are most def brainwashed right?)
2 - Kagurabachi (poor Shiba lol)
3 - Witch Watch (Wolf, NOOOOOO)
4 - One Piece (Zaza looks so cool!)
5 - Shinobi Undercover (good combo, wondering who Yoichi is gonna join now, can see it being either squad...or maybe he goes and trains or something for a bit before joining later on)

Tier 2 (Good):

- Akanebanashi
- Ultimate Exorcist Kiyoshi (basically a spirit bomb situation...I think it's quite nice the low level demons are turning out to be so important to the final battle of the arc)
- Someone Hertz (A rival! Nice)
- Under Doctor (Cute)
- Kinato's Magic (I quite like the Majo Clan....not just because they're hot women! I swear!)
- Blue Box (Good build up chapter for the final match)
- Roku (hilarious tbh)
- Nue's Exorcist (really enjoyed this one, I saw someone say Kasha is like a Jojo Part 1-3 villain and I can see it lmao, he was even drawn like Dio/Kars in that one panel)

Tier 3 (Ok):

- Alien Headbutt (clearly speeding to a conclusion, the new forms look REALLY cool tbh)
- Me and Roboco
- Sakamoto Days
- Drawn to the Fire (the way the dunk is drawn, especially in all black in the page before it, was really cool)
- Class 2-B (yeah it's alright lol)
- Hima-Ten

Tier 4 (Bad): N/A


Very good issue imo, several series (mostly Akane, Kiyoshi and Someone Hertz) were very close to making it to tier 1, had to really fight to select a top 5 lmao.

Issue 24 Votes:

1. Kagurabachi - The past 2 chapters have been a masterclass at making everyone look cool despite a ton of them being killed with incredible ease. Shiba is definitely the MC right now which tells me we may finally be due for that Shiba volume cover (unless Taco wants to keep being a troll to him for the bit, which I can’t hate on).
2. Nue’s Exorcist - Kasha is a pillar man straight out of Battle Tendency and I’m all here for it. I still really don’t expect Gakuro to do the job here but him landing a blow is a good sign of them not experiencing a catastrophe. Perfect time to get the cover too, I’m anticipating more amazing shenanigans next week.
3. One Piece - I like that we’re seeing more people moving around even in the midst of the big important fight happening. Zaza (whilst funny in isolation) definitely has a lot of potential implications for god fruits, perchance Dragon’s, and could even guarantee the presence of other ones. Maybe all of them were void century figures like Joyboy?
4. Akane-banashi - I can’t tell if she’s doing so good with the story that the people aren’t noticing the announcement/turbulence, or if she’s using the ominous nature of the scenario to feed into her story of death further. Either way it’s very effective and seeing Issho of all people ask her the question in his head shows how far she’s come, that he’s really interested in the outcome of this.
5. Witch Watch - Something was gonna have to happen with Wolf, so this is not the most surprising outcome. I do think I’ll need to wait for next chapter to give proper thoughts on how this plays out but I have a feeling Keigo will have to finish the fight with his own strength to prove that he can make it without Wolf, and to show his love for Nemu through action to blow away any confusions from their goofy text exchange.
6. Shinobi Undercover - Does this mean Yodaka is…. the copy ninja?! (no.) But it is interesting to see how Yodaka is capable of using other people’s techniques when given the right equipment, even if he can’t use a kekkai to produce the stuff himself. I’ll be curious if he’s able to find ways to bounce off his own teammates’ kekkai as well.
7. Ichi the Witch - Yeah an invasion and betrayal might be going on, but my main interest is in the heated custody battle going on between Desscaras and Minataka. If theory’s hold water about Fujimine being Ichi’s mom or something then that adds another hilarious layer to this whole custody battle.
8. Hima-Ten! - I appreciate their ability to say sincere things without blowing it too far, even if Tenichi is about to pop like a balloon from being in Honoka’s room. This approach on Honoka’s part will probably be what kills her chances, but we still have yet to see what really draws Tenichi away from her and to Himari, so I look forward to seeing if Ono can do it tactfully.
9. Under Doctor - I actually had a blast with this despite the lack of stakes or relevance to story, I think this makes her a lot more fun of a character to watch, not to mention the extra backstory stuff for her sprinkled in.
10. Someone Hertz - Seeing the other pair seemingly undergoing their own Someone Hertz was pretty funny and interesting. Makes me wonder if we’re gonna get more instances of bumping into groups of friends enjoying Mon-Mid together.

Good week. I didn’t particularly dislike anything.

Now that I think about, do double spreads in manga help the series stand out more if used correctly or not?

As much as I want you to be right, it’s a very different situation. Kiyoshi was receiving decent ToC compared to Kinato and had better online reception (more so that there weren’t full on haters who don’t like that genre in jump apparently). The author can easily pivot to a surprise attack final battle with an “and their adventures continue” or a flash forward ending.

Speaking of that, which mangaka’s do you think could have a new series in a completely different genre? I’d really like to see Hinomaru Zumo’s author try his hand at fantasy action adventure manga; same with Roku if it gets axed.

Odoraiba Yu(My little Mars and Bad Tripper), Reiya Machida(Vroom, Memento in Kowloon), Tabigoro Kuji(Canvas Terra) and Kongon(Roots 55) are my picks. Might have some more but I will post about them tommorow.

Otherwise, they definitely want to keep Under Doctor around with Himaten being a barrier keeping it out of the bottom 3, and Kiyoshi slips into the bottom because they can't put Nue there this week XD. Also only 2 color pages (Blue Box and Oneshot)? Or is one still unknown?
