I don’t think there’s much to that. Shiba has already vouched for him, Urita appears to respect his work and everyone who was present in that room is aware Kunishige’s talent because no one would bother explaining all of that to Shiba. They’re going to allow him to work with the Datenseki and the power from it will result in the enchanted blades or Shiba will steal it and let him do it because he knows he’s right and what they’re up against.Kunishige is a genius swordsmith whose about to access to a really powerful material to craft with.

Yes, but I want to know -- or, at least, I want to know if we will know -- how he truly forged them. Why do they have different abilities, given that the datenseki from the Mikaboshi all have insect-related powers (apparently)? How was that imposed on each blade? That has never been done before Kunishige.

I wish we had known a little bit more about the Soga before the most recent developments.
I don't know if Hokazono decided that the Sword Master was a Soga right from the start. We not knowing a thing about Chihiro's mom is not enough of a "clue" (in this case, Hokazono was hiding this info for a more crucial arc); there could have been N other (simpler) explanations.
Actually, it's not even a matter of waving the Soga Clan backstory in the whole net of sourcery and so on (in particular because Chihiro is one of them). But mostly because Chihiro could have inherited Kurotsuchi, couldn't he? We know they were being protected because of the EBs, but Chihiro was also an important asset. And not only because of Kurotsuchi, but because he could have a daughter that inherited the visions. He's too important.
There are some ways out, like "this information was hidden because the public could not know about the Clan and etc". But then, John Hishaku could have taunted Chihiro with some hints about it. Anyway, I'm feeling that something could have been changed from the begging to make this transition more continuous.
