It's been a pleasure to join you all through the end of the spin-off; I hope we'll see each other again when TOG returns.
I think SIU basically lost his hold of the story once the gang went to the third floor. Leo and lou were arguably the more fun characters in the story and both turned out to be fake people of some sort. After that the pacing and plot just didn't quite click. Basically nothing happened at the third floor, the plot with the snake woman was just random nonsense. The fourth floor sort of picked up but never quite enough. In my case I lost track of bellamod's story.Let's be honest: only Urek fans liked this side story. If the story were doing well, the engagement on this forum would have been comparable to S03 or even earlier, but it wasn't. That simply demonstrates that many fans disagreed on the direction SIU was taking this spin-off on. Even if as a neutral and TOG enthusiast you liked the spin-off, that's good, to each their own but to me personally this spin-off was lower to mid tier. Honestly.
The choice belongs to him alone. To share or not to share. He was called the beta player.I am not writing him off. I am saying that he can’t be that strong. What do you mean by special enough to kickstart people's growth? He found the place before everyone and their development doesn't depend on him.
Even if you claim that he is Zahard's equal that means he is still not enough because being equal to Zahard isn't enough to defeat them all.
I mean, okay, but from my point of view, he suffered and tried to do everything his own way, but in the end, the prospect of defeating Zahard and 10 irregulars seemed too far-fetched in practice, so he thought of another way. His son was killed by Zahard anyway. He might be in grief and couldn't think of any other way. We're making lots of assumptions for what V did and why he did it. Personally, I am giving him the benefit of the doubt. Zahard killing a child just because of a prophecy is more cowardly and inferior-like, if you ask me. LOL.V is superior to all the GWs but Zahard and I am 100% he wasn't stronger than Zahard back then.
The thing is that I don't get why some of you hype him up so much when his plan involves using his superior son. His feats during the last arc count because Baam is currently much weaker than him but if he keeps staying in Baam's body we'll never see his true strength because he can now surpass his peak.
He made a choice and things changed in the Tower. It's not like he unlocked their potential or something. All the GWs developed their abilities in their own ways. He was the beta player because he found the Rice Pot(?) first. The choice belongs to him alone. To share or not to share. He was called the beta player.
V is inherently inferior to Baam
Zahard is definitely an asshole but they all are. It's not about who I think is more virtuous, they are all horrible beings. I simply can't believe that V is strong enough to deal with the Zahard Empire with FUG as it is and from what we know of his story.I mean, okay, but from my point of view, he suffered and tried to do everything his own way, but in the end, the prospect of defeating Zahard and 10 irregulars seemed too far-fetched in practice, so he thought of another way. It's very telling that Gustang's reaction to V returning was simply adding him to his shitlist. Gustang made the case the whole group was unnecessary to the tower. V is no different. As far as V vs zahard goes... I mean, V already lost before. His death seems to be part of a plan to bring back reinformcents in some manner which doesn't scream "I can beat zahard". And now we learn that arlen also pulled some similar shenanigan.Zahard is definitely an asshole but they all are. It's not about who I think is more virtuous, they are all horrible beings. I don't hate V, I hate the fact that he is using Baam's body.
I think it could have also worked with Urek/his regular companions quickly going up and eventually facing 1 shining one as the final enemy at a much higher floor.Shining ones , FHs , baek , garam - These characters should have been focus from the start of the spin off. Siu introduced bunch of new characters who barely mattered in this spin off.
Also urek should have climbed alone. This way pacing would have been much faster.

Actually no kinda, GOG implied there's been others who did the same but failed in Revolution. He was the beta player because he found the Rice Pot(?) first.
It can't possibly be any of the GWs since no one knew where he was. If that was the case then it could only be Towerborn.Actually no kinda, GOG implied there's been others who did the same but failed in Revolution.

What headcanon? They were split and looking for V.Headcanon.
if his choice allowed his comrades to get stronger and for opposition to grow (well being, purple thryssa, firefish) then yes, he unlocked their potential that would have originally not been there for them.
Arlen's situation is weird. I don't think she was plotting anything like that. It doesn't make sense from what we know? Nameless's body would be a nerf to Arlen, unlike V inside Baam. It's very telling that Gustang's reaction to V returning was simply adding him to his shitlist. Something I am wondering is how similar nameless is actually to bam. Nameless is framed as empty but I am thinking that maybe bam avoided being referred to as such by pure luck. As by the time anyone bothered to check (I recall the guardian at the floor of death which mentioned bam's many souls) bam had already collected a bunch of BS through his climb (the blue thryssa, white's souls..). We saw a good deal of bam's revolution but we don't have a frame of reference of how other revolutions go. The family heads tentatively saw stuff but maybe their revolutions were dramatically different from bam's. They all lack the capacity to devour things like bam does... And maybe didn't pick up things at random.
Towerborns can't reach the area where Thor is considering what you have to go through to reach there in the past so it's honestly confusing as hell plus they can't climb either. It can't possibly be any of the GWs since no one knew where he was. If that was the case then it could only be Towerborn.
All of them got the same perks from the Rice Pot.
So far we know that V and arlen came up with a plan and V died while apparently planning to return to the tower via Bam. Following that we don't know what happened to arlen other than she somehow became acquainted with rachel. So her leaving the tower doesn't seem like that big a stretch. And if she did leave she might need a way back. Curiously, V speaks of avenging arlen which would be weird if she was alive.Arlen's situation is weird. I don't think she was plotting anything like that. It doesn't make sense from what we know? Nameless's body would be a nerf to Arlen, unlike V inside Baam.
I think Zahard wants to put her in this body and use some mind control he has so that she'll become his wife. Zahard Princess but Arlen's soul so everything works perfectly for his kingdom. It's twisted but it works.
Trueee, honestly, in all of this, I only liked the beginning before Urek entered the Tower, Beak, and maybe Rov. Everything else just feels random.I think SIU basically lost his hold of the story once the gang went to the third floor. Like Gustang's reaction is an indication of one's virtue of morality. It's very telling that Gustang's reaction to V returning was simply adding him to his shitlist.

You are correct, my friend, so in a way he did unlock and kickstart everything.IIRC V was chosen to be only one for revolution. It was upto V whether to share revolution with others or not.
