Tbh lancelots power really looks like it is to do whatever random bs the plot needs. There's some hope that nova is something interesting.
How so ? , it's only been shown to absorb stuff , we just don't know what it absorbs exactly , is it everything ? , it's not like it's Chaos that can reality warp.

Anyway , I think Lancelot is hands down the strongest and he basically has no counter for his strength , as he has infinite power with a magic that basically makes him invinicble but the question is why did Nakaba make him so strong ?

I believe Nakaba made him the strongest for a purpose ,he's been fattening him up like a golden goose for someone to finally humble him and the only one who can do that is Chaos when it's revealed as the final villain to raise the stakes and bring tension back to the story.

Chaos as the creator of everything including the lake surely can humble Lancelot and Lancelot's defeat would make make everybody realize that they need Arthur as he's the only counter for Chaos , that will be the sequel with Arthur as the MC and the 4 knights serving him as they rebuild Camelot and fight Chaos who's threatening everything.

As far as I can tell lancelot has used magic broadly for two things, to sort of redirect the flow of magic coming his way like he did against the 4 evils and for his shining road attack which seems like a simple energy blast. But his magic doing those two things shows insane range of possibilities.

I still believe that "Nova" has something to do with the Book of Stars. The latter has a power to "fix" or "reconstruct" through time. And I believe that the power Tristan used to heal "Isolde" [Heal Nova] works under the same principle => Healing through reversing Time in a certain chosen area.

Do you really think Nakaba-sensei has been building Lancelot for so long just to make him a hype tool for Arthur? lol

And do you really think that everything that happened so far was just a springboard for Arthur?

And you actually think there'll be a sequel with Arthur as MC? It's funny how some of Arthur's fans are delusional and addicted to Copium

Not a hype tool for Arthur but for Chaos the final villain because it doesn't matter how strong Lancelot is , he'll never beat the creator of the world , however Arthur serves as a good counter for Chaos because he's its vessel , not because of his sheer power , it's just that his power is the only counter for Chaos.
I don't really like Arthur as a character from what we've seen from him ,he's been a bum who's been taking Ls from the day we met him , he's more like Larthur than Arthur.
But isn't it kinda obvious where the story is headed ? , Nakaba has been itching to write him as the MC from the beginning and if there's ever gonna be an MC for a sequel , it has to be him.

I don't know what "kinda obvious" to you, but you're the only one who seems to think Arthur could become MC because there's literally nothing to suggest it, not even a 1% chance, and believing it is ridiculous to begin with.

And just because it is Chaos, doesn't mean it can't be stopped or restrained by anyone except it Vessel.
What happened to it in the past at the hands of SD and DK proves that.

And Arthur "power" isn't a counter to Chaos, his power is the Choas.
Look at his current state, when he hasn't even had all of Chaos' power taken from him yet.

The arthurian legends are named after Arthur for a reason , also the 4kota serving Arthur in the future is most likely what's gonna happen just like they do in the legends as knighs of round table considering their kids are serving him too.

You don't know how SD and DK sealed Chaos to begin with , did they backstab it ? , did it let them on purpose ? , nobody knows
Of course they can affect it because their powers are light and darkness just like Chaos is from light/darkness
But this is something that Lancelot doesn't even have.

No , Arthur's power isn't Chaos , it's the power to control Chaos , there's a difference , there's a reason why Cath is such a bum even though he devoured most of Chaos, it's because he only ate Arthur's right arm , so he can't make use of Chaos as well as he should if he had full Arthur force , he said this himself btw.

Everyone gets stronger with fitting weapons even if it's not ST tier. Hazy Moon is partly Enchant Magic and some abilities can only be used with one like Shining Road, his strongest move. Meliodas can't use Full Counter without an item for example.

I think this is just magic powers 101 at play. Hazy Moon still falls under the same rule set as all other inherent magic powers. Weapons boos their efficiency and potency. If he doesn't use a weapon it is obviously not as effective. Meaning, he probably can't absorb, recircle and redirect power as efficiently resulting in less return and perhaps less channeling through the magic power itself and more through his body, which could mean it puts more strain on him. The better the weapon, the better the effects, obviously. The weapon is also a conduit so all that power doesn't have to be circled through his actual body, I assume, but it is possible. He did get ready to use Hazy Moon on Gatekeeper Escanor after he had injured his wrist from that gut strike, so he was getting ready to take in that power, circle and return it with his body as the conduit.

They don't get stronger as in they gain better stats or raw power , their stats remain the same , weapons are just a way to properly use your own strength and draw it out in a more efficient way.

Take Escanor for example , when he was at the one state , his weapon was holding him back so he threw it and attacked Zeldris with his hand instead.

They get stronger and when the Magic is Destroyer type the buff is even bigger. Weapons are stats amplifiers in general.

Escanor in The One is a different case. The weapon is too big for him and Rhitta probably can't store all the heat/energy.

Escanor's case was special. Rhitta can only boost his stats so much and absorb Sunshine up to a certain point. Escanor was going The One and whatever Rhitta's output could've been at that time was still less than Divine Sword Escanor so he attacked barehanded. Grace-related powers are a category on their own anyway they work similar to conventional magic powers but are still a step above as we have seen when wielded by the people they are intended for. The Archangels could use them to reality altering stages, Mael, despite being post-noon immediately had a different grasp on its intricacies when he took it back from Escanor.

The rest Demonspeed already posted.

That seems to be the case here , Lancelot's hazy moon seems to follow a pattern related to his own physical growth.

At age 10 : While he indeed absorbed infinite magic when he was still a kid but that magic was in a harmless state even a normal human can drink.

At age 11 : He seemed to be dodging magical attacks in grudge of edinburgh movie and not absorbing them which might be because it's magic in a form of lethal attacks unlike the lake's magic which was harmless , he was still not strong enough to absorb magic in an aggressive form like that.

At age 13 : While it's true he absorbed the explosion of Percival's Spirit inside Galand but that explosion didn't really seem that much as Gawain was kinda fine after tanking it , but then we have the Nanashi fight where he manifested Hazy Moon fully that it seemed visible to the naked eye which is different from how he used it before until now , he absorbed Nanashi's attack like it's nothing.

At age 15 : He didn't need to manifest Hazy Moon this time , it was still as invisible as ever but he was absorbing the four evils attacks just fine , until Beltriepe threw his Spatial Slashes anyway where he needed to manifest it again but it was in a different way than the Nanashi fight , it seemed effortless , however he was doing all of that with a sword.

Yeah but it's the weapon's stats are the ones that get stronger , not the person himself , his stats doesn't change but a weapon can help him use more of his own force through the weapon.

Well, yeah. A magic power evolves. They develop when you use them, train them and as the body matures, they grow as well. This offsets to some extend the effects of old age in humans They become more physically vulnerable but to some extend their magic powers get stronger the older they get, up to a certain point anyway. Depends on the classification of the power, sure, but the general concept applies to all of them.

So, through the weapon, stats are amplified. That's what I said. With a weapon you can use new and stronger techniques too. A SR with something like Shirojika is still stronger than a SR with Donny's knife assuming Lancelot is using the exact same amount of power.

I believe Lancelot has shown us two versions of Hazy Moon: Standard and Advanced :

The Standard Hazy Moon (Light in Color):
It can only absorb simple things, such as raw magic (like the Lake's) or direct magical attacks thrown at him. However, it cannot absorb status-based magic or spells not classified as direct attacks. This explains why, pre-time-skip, Lancelot was worried about being turned into a baby alongside Percy and his platoon by that Chaos Knight's magic. Therefore, a hax like Galahad's time-skip is far beyond standard Hazy Moon, which is exactly why Lancelot was defeated; the standard version simply can't deal with it.

The Advanced Hazy Moon (Dark in Color):
This version can only be utilized through a weapon, likely due to severe consequences, risks, or the heavy toll it puts on Lancelot's body. He used it with Nanashi's sword against the Four Perils, absorbing all of their attacks into his blade. Their arsenal included physical strikes and complex mental magic, such as Ironside's spell. These are feats standard Hazy Moon cannot achieve, and this advanced version is what will ultimately save him from Galahad's hax.

However, Lancelot doesn't have a weapon like Nanashi's sword right now because he broke it against Cath after using Shining Road. So, how is he going to pull off the Advanced Hazy Moon that he used against the Four Perils to save himself from Galahad?

That leads to another question: What did Lancelot do after he broke his sword? He allowed Anne's magic to hit him on purpose and started weight training to strengthen his body. I believe this weight training serves a specific purpose: to condition his body so he can use Advanced Hazy Moon freely without needing a weapon. This is exactly how Lancelot will defeat Galahad—by using the weaponless Advanced Hazy Moon to absorb and completely negate his hax.

The sense I get from hazy moon so far is that what is does is basically controlling how magic flows in a given direction. And he has used it in a variety of ways. Sometimes to direct power from the infinite magic towards enemies or sometimes to simply have magic flow into his infinity magic reservoir.

That is one of its applications, specifically the standard version. However, I'm talking about the advanced version he demonstrated against the Four Evils. Unlike the light-colored standard version, the advanced version is dark-colored and works much better on things way more complex such as spells or even physical attacks that has nothing to do with magic.

The only problem is that it can only be channeled through a weapon, but I think Lancelot won't have that issue anymore thanks to Anne's magic weight training and we're about to see that in next few chapters.

TBH to me both look to the the same with some marginal difference of how strong they are. What changes is just where lancelot has magic flow.

And the whole weapon plot point is just nakaba being comically inconsistent. In early NNT using a weapon was a prerequisite to using your full power. In late NNT using a weapon or not had exactly zero impact in how much of your power you could use. Heck, half the commandments didn't have one. Now we are back to weapons being important. There's no point in trying to find logic and consistenty on what does and doesn't matter in this regard, it's entirely random and nonsensical.
