No it is a new monthly magazine of shueisha (publisher of weekly shounen jump) which replaces the old monthly shounen jump. Lots of series are new, others have been taken over

side not: jump SQ stands for jump Supreme Quality

Let me see if I can make it more clear. ^^;

Shueisha publishes two shounen manga magazines. Until July this year, the two magazines were: Weekly Shounen JUMP (WJ) and Monthly Shounen JUMP (MJ). Monthly JUMP was cancelled in July, and replaced with JUMP SQ last month. Several of the series that were suspended when MJ was cancelled in July have resumed in SQ.

So, Shueisha has two shounen manga magazines again, namely Weekly Shounen JUMP and JUMP SQ, which is monthly. Basically, status quo.

We did an RTS for every series in the debut issue, and are only continuing the RTS for series that are popular enough to warrant it. We're giving a few issues to determine which series will stay.

I meant to post this earlier but it slipped my mind. The success of JUMP SQ continues in the second issue! From the official site (here):

The second issue was re-printed with 60,000 copies for release on 12/15 (after the publication date of 12/4)

The first issue of "JUMP SQUARE" published on 11/2 (500,000 copies) was received with overwhelming sales, and due to stores being out-of-stock, was reprinted with another 100,000 copies. Once again, when the second issue went on sale on 12/4, it broke the sales record of the first issue, and continuing this unprecedented re-printing like the first issue, 60,000 more copies have been re-printed.

Any idea how many copies were printed this time? It seems odd that they're saying it's breaking the record of the last month yet they're reprinting less copies.

They didn't say what the initial print run of the second issue was, but it's sort of implied that it was 600,000 - the same as the initial print run for issue 1, plus the reprint.

I should be able to start scanning on Monday. I forgot to pre-order my copy of issue #1 and it cost me the chance to get it through airmail; the magazine sold out on the same day it arrived over at my bookstore ;_;.

Impatiently waiting for the seamail issues to arrive. >_<

BTW, who's in favor of making another Jump S.Q. archive thread made for the Jump S.Q. one-shots published in Weekly Jump and any upcoming omakes or vice versa? I kinda feel like it's a mess with both the one-shots and actual chapters around.

why not just take all the links to the WJ and one shot stuff and place them under the subtitle 'pre-SQ'
saves on space, and most images............... well they aren't needed really anymore
except perhaps P2 Biyori and bad english Hiroyuki Takei :P

which rule you should've broken? i hate it, that there are forums where people can't write a single word without beeing bashed by some mods because of spaming...MH isn't like that, so fell free to ask everything you want!

are there still any Series that aren't scanned yet? besides Pat-ken?
aaand, when EXACTLY is the next issue going t come out? on January, the fourth?

lol, thanks for doing that ToC thing Kirimi. It was taking me a while to figure out what's been or hasn't been scanned so I could start working on it. ^^;;
