Yes, this should be the right thing: he can't develop his plate in nothing else but a gold one (and this will probably happen only when the story is near the end), since otherwise he won't be able to see the little mandrake anymore. The best way for him to survive is to develop him ability to use MO and to learn how to minimize the consumption of magic points. The training that he started in the new chapter seems to lead his development in that way. Plus, with his sister at home he should probably be able to develop top rate speed and strenght, so with just his phisical abilities he should be able to keep up with his future opponents.
i am pretty sure he would still be able to see the mandrake (Lucy), because Aika's father and the principal can see her, i think she can let any 1 see her, since she got the magic increase by the ring
Yes, now that I think about it, it's just like this... Even the other teachers have golden plates and still can't see the mandrake, while those two actually can. Still, in my opinion it would be better for him to develop properly his MO and martial arts, since in this way he has both a perfect defense against magical attacs and a proper offense... He can even use the MO with the help of a chain, like was showed in Hiragi's dad's explanation, he shoul be able to become prettty powerful. The problem is that there may be other people who are aware of MO's secret, so he has to be careful (expecially of that vice-principal, who looks suspicious). Well, it's not like he can start with magic as a beginner, since he would be as weak as a normal first year, while using Mo he has the upper hand even against his seniors and can carry on his cover.
Same here, man... I mean, it's just cool... He hasn't any special ability and still managa to become the coolest guy around there, and the fact that he can't use magic makes the fights more deep, since he has to think of a way to come out safe without being discovered. The fact that he doen't use magic makes him even cooler, since anyone thinks that he is kinda restraining himself because he doen't want to show off, while he actually push himself to his very limits (like that time against the huge blond dude that fired energy from his hands, the companion of the one with the bow). Plus the manga has romance and comedy, it's very well drawn... I mean, I can't really find a single thing that I would like to change.
