I was suppose tp be 10 weeks I think, somewhere around it. It was imposed by the magazine.

i dont see this arc ending in 3 chapters. what do you mean by imposed by the magazine? theyre preventing the mangaka from publishing the manga for 10 weeks? i wonder what the reason for that it.

I'd never heard anything about an upcoming hiatus, and it's never been announced for as far as I know. There's also nothing to be found on that subject when I give it a quick google search, it seems...

I think that rumour sprouted because of the 'three-month-ultimatum' or something that Shueisha gave Togashi, does anyone have an accurate translation of that one? Either way, I don't believe that there's any confirmation for an upcoming hiatus (though it's quite possible that there'll be one after 280 indeed... but who knows).

I think the next break is before the Netero VS King fight. Leaves us on a cliffhanger, takes 1 month break, and will come back with the rest.

Zeno and Zitu talk, and then Silva slams into Zitu from the sky. (Zitu is the cheetah guy, I forgot how other people spell it, but that's how it's pronounced.)

(good rumours, from the same guy that came up with every info regarding starting/ending series in the last few years)

Personally, I'm no too surprised, when I ponder on it a bit.
This arc started slow, but the last couple of volumes have been so EPIC that I can't possibly see Togashi ever topping it. So starting another arc after this would simply be too much.
Loose ends wise, there's only really Gon's search for Ging, and whatever happened with Kuroro's search for a nen-remover. Nothing you'd actually need an arc for to clarify. Hopefully the last few chapters give us a bit of closure on those, though. Doesn't have to be much, but Togashi owes us at least a few glimpses. ;p
Like say, a time-skip Gon fishing with his pops, would be awesome. Or a few scenes of Hisoka facing off with Kuroro, etc.

But I still think that the whole Gon Ging thing will have to be too significant to be finished in 10 chapters...

It would be kinda lame if he just showed up to save Gon or something like that, and a time skip to them being together would be stupid. This is essentially the whole point of this manga, the aim of the main character, theres no way it isn't going to be a major event with a proper lead up.

I don't think it will end in 10 chapters, but if it does, this arc will have to be done in about 2 or 3.

Gon finding Ging is just a plot device, nothing more.
It gives the main character reason to go on his quests.

Gon doesn't need to find Ging. As barbapapa said, it's just a plot device to make him stronger and stronger while he travels the world.

If HxH was to end now, that would be like Naruto ending next week with Naruto suddenly being named Hokage because everyone else died in an atomic blast.

The manga doesn't have just one device, but its not going to end without at least properly running the course of the main one....

I don't really understand why you're liking the current arc so much. Big Energy Fight with Atomic strenght is what you see in every shounen. I didn't want that for Hxh. I really find it boring. The 2 nicest moments in the new chapters are Netero's training and neferpitu on her knees.

it doesn't matter if the current arc is good or bad (it depends on how much you like hxh), but if it were going to end, there will be some untied knots... what about the genei ryodan, gin, kurapika, leorio, hisoka, ......

we have to wait until some news concerning hxh (if it is a hiatus, togashi going to another magazine or if it's really going to end (i don't want this last one))
