Well, he did say definite, so that means the amount of times that character who play together and it’s not a complete stomp and one side obtain an upgrade and they play evenly after that in the series must absolutely be only 0, so I'm basically simply waiting for him to confirm it before I show anything.
I mean... if it happen in the series before and someone apparently love this series and analyze everything about and know everything about it, then there is basically no excuse for not knowing the amount of times it happen before in the series and there is no reason to claim that something that the series contradict before is definite to be a certain way because they know it wouldn't have happen in the series ever. But of course, there wouldn't be such a fan, because a fan would know the series.
For me personally, Romeo is equal to Tezuka, but with his upgrade Romeo might indeed be slightly better. But to see how much his upgrade might impact this, we also need to see how it impact his match with Atobe. Atobe and him was pretty even at the last set. The last score we've seen is 6-5, making the two side relatively even. Romeo activate his upgrade in the end of chapter 402, but Atobe is stated to already be injured in chapter 403. Injury do decrease performance and Atobe is struggling with the pain according to the chapter summary. Of course, there is a chance that maybe Atobe is struggling with pain but playing 100% as he would without the pain and drawback of the using his future power that the manga mention doesn't matter to him, but for me, I don't think that's the case.
But despite that injury which should hinders his performance and no more upgrade, Atobe suddenly somehow play even with Romeo after Romeo catch up to the score with him. We knows that players stabilizing after opponents upgrade and play evenly after is pretty normal in this series, and if needed I can even find proof, but ONLY if the other side doesn't read Prince of Tennis because anyone who read PoT would know that. Is Romeo last upgrade so significant he dominate the injured Future! Atobe? Would uninjured Future! Atobe be able to do better against Romeo last upgrade or worst? That same Future! uninjured Atobe that play an extremely even last set versus Romeo at 6-5 score? Is there a missing translation or chapter somewhere missing between chapter 404 and 405? Do Atobe get last minute upgrade that explain why he suddenly can play even with upgrade Romeo?
Romeo might get an upgrade last minute, but what the last upgrade manage to achieve doesn't convince me that he is DEFINITELY better than Tezuka beyond any doubt when he can't even pull ahead of an injured Future! Atobe that he play evenly with before when Atobe isn't shown to get an upgrade to catch up to him after Romeo's upgrade. But if there is a missing summary or chapter and Atobe does get an upgrade to match up with Romeo last upgrade then I apologize.
