Strategy and intelligence on charas is really plot dependant, I don't even take it seriously, when they do stuff like instinctive vs strategy I start laughing my ass off.

Killing Ten off sounds like a great idea for Shin tho, the way Kaine is focussing on Ten this recent chap it might be a fateful showdown between trash cans. Then Shin can try to be the Duke.

Shin does need wardrobe upgrades to get to that goated panel of his from chapter 1.

To get this close to winning is impressive and yet not too surprising. Mouten is just that good. Ever since his first introduction aeons ago during Renpa arc he was nice and friendly, a stark contrast to whatever it is Ouhon was doing at his introduction. He is also by far the most handsome character, idk where that comes from certainly not Moubu.

Even Ten is falling for his lovely charms!

Very laid back and lazy at first, but he grew out of this attitude fairly fast, trying as hard as the other two.

In every single arc he was in he always does some monumental thing, so to not have 300 panels here I'll just focus on the most memorable:

1. Rallying Makou's army

He just casually took over the entire left wing by himself, with a manpower disadvantage + picking up an army that isnt his, and still stalemated that megabum Kisui for 2 weeks?

2. Absolutely dunking on Bananji

This one is absurd. Bananji doesn't get as much recognition as he deserves, he's certainly up there with the top tiers when he's in the right mood, and he was in his killer mode in these scenes I think. And yet Mouten fearlessly charges in.

This would likely make my top5 kingdom scenes, so badass.

3. Stalling Shunsuiju+Bananji with his own army and disadvantage

and last but not least

4. Being a total bro to Shin, coming to his rescue like walking into certain death

This recent chapter catapulted Mouten even further up my ranks of favorites.

I'm excited to see what else he will do in the story, but I dont doubt he's already GG material to replace Tou.

Well, there he is. The scummy bandit beheader guy. You may notice I didn't give him any points, I dont like Kanki. But thats more on a personal level. As a character I agree he is great and I'm not surprised he ended up 1st place. He's completely captivating in every single scene he gets, completely getting your attention.

Often described as a genius at warfare, and yet he is pretty much the complete opposite of our other #1 mind, Riboku. Where Riboku excels at everything, Kanki has worse(or nonexistent?) grasp on actual battle strategy and focuses fully on how to create situations where he takes the opponent by surprise.

Riboku does plenty of mindgames as well, pre-planning events years in advance like with the built mud-forts in Hango. And yet even he can't do the things Kanki can.

Kanki infuriates you with his way of never explaining himself, just having his smug face while telling you to do as he says and things will work out.

He has way too much charisma. And despite seeming like he's full of himself...

...he justifies it all by successfully doing his scheme every single time in every arc. However, every single one of Kanki's plans always come at a high cost, so while he is entertaining and always surprises you with his schemes, they aren't the awesome wins they may look like at first. Always paying a heavy price in his own soldiers' lives.

Right, time for the exceptional showings:

1. Coalition arc shenanigans

You know I always thought it odd that Kanki was put on defense on the tower when he's not exactly a defensive general, but he does really well. And of course he somehow still finds a way to go on the offense despite being on an extremely tall wall.

After burning down the first tower in a cool wide panel and lots of oil, he then scares off the enemy by attempting a similar thing with the second tower, just for it to be a feint and him using the siege tower to go from defense to offense and murdering the enemy general in charge. Absolutely insane.

I was laughing so hard at him commanding/cheering on the enemy archers as he pretends to be a Wei unit passing by.

So cool.

And I thought it cute of him to still show some respect to the dead old man here.

2. Shukai plains

He mostly just sat around pretty during Gyou/Shukai plains arc but that was his assigned role and he did it well. And man is he good at just aurafarming while sitting cool surrounding a fortress without engaging in combat for 2 weeks.

3. Defeating Kochou

While this was very flashy idk if it was truly worth it. Sure it ended the battle earlier than conventional strategies but he sacrificed most of the Gyoku Hou and tons of his own soldiers for it. And it still relied on an army taking over an impossible task of taking a position that Shin miraculously pulled off, without that he'd have failed.

Some tall words from Ousen.

It's truly unfair just how many cool wide panels Kanki gets lol.

Even somehow predicts a 50/50 chance of which side Kochou would attempt to flee.

He's never really shown to be much of a fighter, making scenes like these that much cooler.

Kochou isn't wrong with his assessment.

But Kanki is just like "k".

4. Vs Riboku

And finally, gotta mention his final battle.

First off, while this sounds cool, Kanki doomed himself right here. He may have gotten too high on his own successes, as he deliberately walks into an enemy trap thinking he can handle it all, but spoiler alert he couldn't.

We get a nice little highlight reel by Riboku, but he's correct.

He tries to play it off cool but he knows he's done goofed.

And yet..

This absolute BS of a formation is yet another peak memorable Kingdom scene. Riboku is just stunlocked by wtf he is seeing :lmao

Long enough for Kanki to stall til nighttime and escape.

Despite knowing so much about Kanki, Riboku still falls short of thinking about Kanki's moves properly.

While ultimately pointless, this all leads to the final cool clash between Kanki and Riboku. He made it from a onesided slaughter into creating an opportunity to slay Riboku. I was incredibly impressed at this panel.

Yet another contender for top5 Kingdom moments. Riboku's eyes of "oh shit" really make the scene.

And while he ultimately fails and dies here, the attempt at Riboku's life is the closest Riboku ever came to being defeated, and frankly if not for absolute BS army teleportation and Riboku's soldiers miraculously holding out long enough despite being caught off-guard, this should have been Riboku's death by all accounts. Massive plot armor moment.

So, to conclude, Kanki is brilliant and gets the spotlight and pulls the reader's eyes every time he appears. Kingdom feels very different without him, and there's nobody even remotely similar to him to give us sneaky tactics anymore which is a big shame.

And yet, still hate him. He's a scumbag and all I could think of during his fall is RIP BOZO. His own fault, he knew it was a trap and still went in.

This concludes our Kingdom top 10 ranking!!!

Thank you all for playing! I'm very happy to have finally given the Kingdom characters ranking the closure it deserved. Hope you enjoyed going through the Kingdom memories again. My apologies for the ranking slowing down in pace, but as I kept going the posts somehow became longer and longer, I had to hunt for good panels and it all ended up taking a ton of time. Resulting in some really big posts.
A bit of a different, wordy take on doing top 10 games, not sure if this is better than had I just did it simple and straightforward, but I had fun writing about all the characters so.. works for me.

Fun fact, when Margi first did the ranking 3-ish years ago I didn't know Kingdom at all. It's a more recent read for me, seeing some anime seasons 1 year ago and reading most of the manga 7 months ago. I love it and is one of my top favorite mangas ever. Has its ups and downs but the entertainment value with Kingdom is huge.

Hara said in some interview Kingdom will end around the rise of Han, which is when Ei Sei's empire collapses, so it could potentially take a long time still for it to end. Here's to 1000 more chapters! Maybe even a three-kingdoms continuation afterwards? We'll see.

Mou Ten is just a balance of a very well done character. He has it all. Looks, charisma, intellect. He's the choice who should have come easily to everyone's list, I can't imagine a reason to dislike him.
To be honest, him making it this far is a shock. I didn't realize he was more popular than Ouki

Kanki. In a manga where everyone is mostly orthodox, and does things by the book, he is soooo refreshing due to how unorthodox he is. Always thinking out of the box. Doesn't care how he wins, just that he does it. He also has a brutality that is needed in a manga like this.
Haven't read the manga since Kan/Ki. In fact I think the quality of the manga has suffered since then.

Excellent hosting @GrySun . Now you owe us a Kuroko no Basket top 10, just so I can see how many people will make the top ranked deservedly win :pleased

And I recommend reading the chapters post-Kanki, Hermit. While theres bad parts, the whole Han conquest is great, Ousen getting rekt is maybe up your alley, and we are in the final "vs Riboku" arc though this one will be much more fun to read/reread when its fully finished.

It'is up to you to define what is "hot". It sn’t just about abs, or pretty faces (though those help). It could also be about presence, charisma, voice if applied, attitude, and that aura that makes a character unforgettable.You’re free to define “hot” however you want, elegant, dangerous, soft, confident, mysterious, … as long as they made you feel something.
Characters from 18+ games are not allowed. Please keep it appropriate.
Honorable mentions are allowed.
If you want to add comments/explanations, I will gladly add them in the countdown.
As long as deadline is not reached, you can change your lists as much as you want.

- Are anime manga characters like Bulma or Nami or Comics/Marvel and such characters, eligible?

There are plenty of games that are adapted from manga/animes, technically they are video game characters, but we just had an anime/manga characters round, I believe if possible, I prefer players to avoid nominating characters coming from original manga/anime medium ( I am aware that sometimes it's hard to tell, like in Pokemon /fate series, I believe game came out 1st). I have accepted last round maybe some characters that were coming potentially from anime adapted from original video games, though.

- I want to join but, I know nothing about video games.

The host knows almost nothing about games, however, she managed to make a list so don't worry if she could do a list, anyone can do ! It's about hotness character round, you don't need to have any game prior knowledge, you only have to pick the ones you like,it can help to no for sure but not a requirement. If you don't know any games, you can check out the popular licenses Wikia ( such as Genshin Impact, Fire Emblem, Final Fantasy, Street fighters, League of Legends, Pokemon, etc.) You can check characters in previous mafia games' video games themes to help you :

- Is there any restriction regarding game eligibility?

You can't nominate several times the same character from different games, if you want, for example, to nominate Link from Zelda, just specify the one you want to feature, I will count only one Link. Otherwise, you can nominate any character from any video game, be it an older game or newer, online or consoles, any kind of game works. Though please, nominate only humanoid characters (pokemon, monsters, animals are not eligible, elfs, androids etc are allowed) and avoid nominating a minor character, like an onlooker, like this:
