Now that Psyren has an ongoing anime, what are the longest running (non-gag) Jump series to never have a TV anime?
Rookies and Rokudenashi Blues were even before the longest mangas without an anime IIRC.

Now that Psyren has an ongoing anime, what are the longest running (non-gag) Jump series to never have a TV anime?
Pyu to Fuku Jaguar only had OVAs/movies and it ran for more than 400 chapters.
Rokudenashi Blues only had movies.
Toilet Hakase is the longest Jump manga, with 30 volumes, without anime in any form.

Other long running series without any anime: Manga Drifters (268 chapters), Rookies (233), Mr. Fullswing (227), Doberman Deka (213), Houchounin Ajihei (212), Akutare Kyoujin (204), Astro Kyuudan (183), Black Angels (179), Toudai Icchokusen (168), Keiji (166), Arashi! Sanpiki (163), Susume Pirates (150), Bonbonzaka Koukou Engekibu (142), Wild Half (142), Majima-kun Suttobasu (140), Tennis Boy (130), 1-2 no Ahho (129), Ousama wa Roba (129), Shape Up Ran (128), Hole in One (128), Chichi no Tamashi (127), Act-age (123), High School Family (122), Outer Zone (121), Gokutora Ikka (111), The Momotaroh (109), Kami-sama wa Southpaw (109), Asataroden (108), Boku no Doubutsuen Nikki (99), Mx0 (99).

Series that only had OVAs, movies or specials: Leader Den Takeshi (237), I'1s (143), Harenchi Gakuen (116), Video Girl Ai (116).

For the series I think are most likely to get a TV anime. Rokudenashi Blues and Rookies would be the more obvious ones as some of the most iconic Jump series of all time, but the art style may be too complicated to make an anime, they would also need several seasons to cover a full story.

After them, I would say Outer Zone, Wild Half and Goto Seijuro (95 chapters) as Jump always promotes them a lot as major hits of their golden ages, they also could easily appeal to modern audiences without many changes or anything.

Mr. Fullswing is requested a lot, but I think the horny characters make this harder to happen. It's not an ecchi manga or anything, so a studio like Passione wouldn't pick it, and I'm not sure another studio wants to change it and get criticism from fans. It still might happen, but I wouldn't say it's next in line.

Everything else seems unlikely for being too old and/or not having a bigger active fanbase. Maybe Keiji if they want to milk the Hokuto no Ken fanbase more? Astro Kyuudan and Momotaroh probably should have anime for their relevance, but the character designs seem too outdated for mainstream audiences.

Keiji already got an anime around 10 years ago, I remember watching the first episode when it released and finding it very dull other than the art.

That's based on a Keiji spin-off sequel. As far as I know, it didn't adapt the original manga.

But they’re talking about a story that takes place during the first invasion, though...

i wonder who is @AniKing talking about:mono
Not inside this issue, but there will be some more in the future ones :renst
I feel like you guys are misinterpreting what Aniking teased, its not about the thing in question being bigger than HxH itself but that the news its much bigger and impactful than HxH returning just for another 10 chapters and disappearing again :super

June Interview hinted Bleach Hell Arc to come in 2027

I thought the interview would be origin of the bleach rumors but nope this interview happened after them on june 21st.
Sugiyama: If you were to draw something following that timeline, up until around the time just before the invasion… That would be really exciting, wouldn’t it?
Morita (joking in a low, almost robotic monotone): Maybe in next year’s Weekly Shōnen Jump? *Kubo laughs.*

Random exerpt further into the interview of kubo being aware of saito
Kubo (smiling and pointing toward the editor-in-chief sitting in the audience): Only the current editor-in-chief raised his hand!
Chiaki (laughing): Of course the editor-in-chief got it!

Still feels kind of reaching

Morita: So, which character was the first to take shape/come together?
Kubo: It was Rukia.
Morita (softly, with a sigh): Rukia...
Morita (looking at Kubo): So you started with Rukia and built things out from there?
Kubo: Yeah, that's right. Once Rukia took shape... When I drew her, I thought, “Ah, she's a Soul Reaper.” So then I thought, “Well, I'll make a manga about Soul Reapers.”

Chiaki: So, as the characters interact with each other, they gradually become more clearly defined, in a way...?
Kubo: Yeah, that's right. So, with Rukia in this story about Soul Reapers... the character I created to stand alongside her was Ichigo...
Everyone reacts with a long “Oooh...”

I'm sure this will vindicate ichiruki shippers or further piss them off lol

Edit: Shimabukuro at a school reunion. Face cropped out here but you can see it when opening the tweet link
Yesterday, there was a junior high school reunion in Okinawa, but I couldn't go because of work. My friends sent me lots of photos, and it seems like some amazing people from my class were there.

No build king?

I was very optimistic about Shihei Lin's Mix Green but his numerous comments on AI recently has been very suspect.

Issue 46 2026:

1. Nue's Exorcist: A chapter that went by very quickly for very good reasons. The acrion is nothing short of formidable, the way Gakuro's punches flow directly into Nue's backstab, the flawless teamwork of Starslave creating enough shadows for Gakuro to use, and even on Kasha's side, using (UBW) somehow two hollow weapons to complete them both and gaining an even further upper hand- it's so damn electric and fast, christ it is so good. The art just never cease to amaze me too, how Kawae manages to keep up such complex designs in motion is beyond me, though the MangaPlus image quality is SERIOUSLY hurting this chapter...
Seeing Gakuro pull off a Xenodark alongside his master's Zenoblade is catharsis incarnate after seeing the two separated until now, it's like going back to before the arc even started, except now you see Gakuro's OWN Soul Armor with it, their perfect combos, and it really dawns upon you that not only are they backa t each others' sides, but Gakuro's fulfilling the objective that the Yajima family was built upon: be the ultimate contractor for Nue and exterminate the Hyo.
Now the questions are: How did Gakuro manage to get up in time? Well, notice the feathers... I feel like we are about to see our girl Shiroha real soon...
And is the fight over? Big doubt, I know Kawae too well.
Shorter review than usual due to the action packed nature of the fight, but also due to me being too anime pilled this week to even focus. Regardless, 12/10. Cover and LCP Incoming!!!

2. Class 2B Hero Destroyerz: Now this- THIS is an arc I expected from Sorachi. A simple yet meaningful teaching, the consequences of genuine violence, and it's all wrapped up by a batshit insane comedic moment. If this series lasts, which I doubt, I want it to keep this up.

3. Kagurabachi

4. Someone Hertz

5. Ura Files

6. Riku's House Of Oddities

7. Graykeith: Translator Daemonica

8. Hal Formula

9. Animal Signal: The ass jokes are funny but having them again this quickly is kinda eh. I feat it's already getting old.

10. Cannon Master: Neat coreography but that's it.

Issue #46:

1) Kiyoshi: So he's got another dog to sniff out demons. And an incredible memory too, holy shit.

2) Ichi: It's cool to see a power-up that didn't come out of nowhere.

3) Graykeith: The cop looks like the vampire kid from WW. If that's an adult, everyone looks insanely young. Also, he's totally right about you doing your damn job.

4) WW: I feel like everyone is unjustly forgetting about the vampire.

5) OP: After Zoro, Sanji gets his turn, eh? The princess aged rather well if she's over 65 years old.

Shinobi: Well, it's a start. Now go talk to him without fighting.

Destroyerz: I wonder if we're going back to comedy now.

Cannon: Coming at him two at a time wasn't enough. I'm surprised we're doing multiple chapter fights after the last stretch seemed so rushed.

Dr: I didn't expect the fight to go on this long. How the hell did they not know about Shuli, the kid's been living with the doctor full time for months.

Akane

Ura:
Just pick one together already.

Sakamoto: I hope he didn't learn that umbrella move from his daughter.

KGB: I'm kinda with the old guy here, they should be more cautious about picking their nuclear weapons.

Roku: I liked the punchline, but the rest was too exaggerated for my taste.

I wanted to say something about this whole Bleach and Naruto situation…

Even if we still don’t know whether they’ll come back to Weekly Shonen Jump, move to V Jump, or go somewhere else (even though we’re all pretty sure it’ll be Jump), this trend of using nostalgia just to pump up sales numbers feels really sad to me.
Taking a slot away from a rookie to give it to Naruto or Bleach is just… not cool at all.
Weekly Shonen Jump was created to give visibility to young artists who want to show their work and try to turn it into a real job (people like Machida, Tanimoto, Usui etc... artists who spent five years grinding out one-shots and finally got a chance to show what they can really do)

Instead, the audience has basically decided they only want One Piece, Naruto, JJK, and Bleach in the magazine… because they sell no matter what, because people would read them even if they were written badly, and because everyone can abuse the popularity of those titles for easy clout-chasing on social media (and in the end it’s a win–win for Shueisha, because they’d sell more issues anyway since people will read those series no matter what)

Meanwhile, series like Cannon Master, HAL Formula, UNDER DOCTOR, etc... just get flooded with insults and low votes because in 10/20 chapters they don’t “reach the level” of people’s favorite series, which only got there after 500 chapters (or 1200, even if the huge drop in writing and art is right there in front of them and nobody seems to notice)

As for me, I’ll keep reading more new stories and giving a real chance to rookie authors (like Natsuki Hokami's Greykeith, for example)
Isn't this a great time for newbies though? There have been periods in time where Jump had, like, 16 long-running series, and the rookies had to fight for the scraps. Now, there are only 10-11 established series, so the chances of a decent new series sticking around are much higher.

That controversy didn't play a huge role in it being axed. The main reason is that it's a boring slice of life with not very likeable characters. His one shots already had this issue. Never got how he got published so quickly.
I liked the characters from Psych House. I agree that it might've done better with more plot, but a lot of things like 'likable' are just personal taste, so it's hard for an editor to know whether the public will share his taste or not.

Not sure how I feel about the pacing of this recent KGB chapter seems like Hokazono was told to speed this arc up.

tbh this is arc is dragging too much, or maybe thats the feeling on the weekly release. Maybe reading everything at once can be a lot better (or reading as the volumes releases)

This arc will definitely flow better if you read all the chapters at once similar to the fullbring arc from bleach.
