you already saw it? lucky! i've been watching since 8:00 here but its already almost 1:00(a.m.) here and china hasn't even walked out yet

i really want to see the torch lighting *sigh* d*mn stupid commericals!!!!!!

No fair, everybody has already seen the Opening Ceremonies. Oh well, I still have to wait 30 minutes. I hate when major sporting events are in Asia. I never get to see anything live.

Wow, the opening ceremony was awesome, at least what I watched. The lighting of the torch was pretty cool to. I loved how it looked like that guy was running in slow mo.

It's good the Olympics have finally started though. It's funny what you watch when the Olympics role around. I have been sitting for 2 hours watching fencing, air rifle, and badminton competitions.

Wow, USA played the Netherlands to a 2-2 tie in soccer. I didn't see that one coming.

Damn, the U.S. was one minute away from beating the Netherlands. Oh well, it was good to see them come back and take the lead in the second half. Too bad they couldn't hold it.

Anyway, what happens if Nigeria and the U.S. tie and the Netherlands wins? There will be a three way tie for first (5 points). And the U.S. and Nigeria would have the same goal differential (possibly the Netherlands as well depending on the score to the Japanese game). What's the next tie breaker?

Edit: Nevermind I found my answer. Goals scored is the next tiebreaker. Which means a win or tie gets the U.S. to the next round. Unless Japan wins, then their in no matte what.

The Americans can now secure a place in the quarterfinals with a tie against Nigeria. Here's why. If the Netherlands defeats Japan and the USA ties Nigeria, that would leave the Dutch, USA and Nigeria tied at five points. The Americans would win a tie-breaker against Nigeria based on goals scored, which is the second tie-breaker (goal differential is the first tie-breaker and Nigeria and the USA would be equal there if they tied.). The U.S. team heads into its match against Nigerial having scored three goals, while Nigeria has scored two.

Michael Phelps 3 events, 3 gold medals, 3 world records. The man is a beast. 5 more to go (I think).

Also, that freestyle relay was f'ing amazing. I did not see the American catching that guy but boy did he. I found it really exciting. He saved Phelp's dream. Two more events tomorrow.

I don't mean to sound jealous of his prowess, but I think they should do a drug test on Phelps.. Also, there was an Australian swimmer who accomplished the 3 gold medals and I think 2 records about.. 4 or 8 years ago? I can't remember his name, I remember he was a monster too though.

yeah.. I remember an Australian who dominated swimming too way back.. No offense but he's nothing compared to Phelps.. I don't think they drugged him up.. It's Olympics only underage gymnast goes undetected.. I think he is genetically enhanced! LOL!
