Good positive start by Belgium; they've been intent on staying up and pressuring forward. Had a good chance earlier too.

Meh, USA did not even play good against Ghana, and Portugal had a rocking start, a win here would give them a little breathing space for the final match in their group.

Indeed. Never really noticed how many good players they had before. Dang.

Lukaku has been quiet though and the game sorta lost its fizz in the last 5-10 mins.

They are overloading their right side on offence. Hazard needs to bw more active on the left side... they should stop with these longe range passes too

Mertens is good. All danger is coming from him. We are better than russia but they were dangerous in counters. There was maybe a penalty for them.

I don t feel like we are playing at 100%. We don t need to win, it might be the reason

Brasil, argentina, ... those were not impressive either. Aside from france, no team was dominant for two games. There is too much hype around belgium but we are still a potential dark horse.

Why you don't need to win? A draw doesn't guarantee the qualification and by the perfomance presented so far I wouldn't be that confident about an easy match against South Korea.
If you guys pick 2nd place in the group, you will play against Germany, too.

Coming from a brasilian, that s rich.if this match ends in a draw, we would be in a similar situation as brasil. 4 points and a match against the weakest team left

Here's why:

Hazard's been as ineffective for Belgium these two matches as he usually is for Chelsea. There's no real end product, just a lot of fancy tricks and then he passes it away. At least the old CR7, before he learned how to really take players on, would take shots, but Hazard doesn't even do that.

At least we can all see now why Lukaku isn't really the guy for Chelsea at the moment.

Boring match with an undeserved result... Russia played better the entire 2nd half but got tired in the end...
2nd round will be tough to Beligum, quarter finals at max.

Very awful game, the only thing I will remember, is that a 19yrs old talent decides the game.

My only grip: Belgium has always been a country that sucks during group phase. We always grow later on.

Terrible performance by Lukaku but the manager used his substitution well to bring on Origi. Maartens also subbed cos he was quiet in the second half, everyone were kinda quiet, not seeing the performances I was hoping from from the Belgians. Glad they are through, but the luck they are riding will only get them so far, as the next round will feature the best t(and some lucky ones) teams.

Do you know that anyone in Belgium sign with both hands for a quarter final ?
I don't think you realize from where we are coming. Belgian football was dead 4-5 years ago. This would be already a huge success.
Plus, if we qualify for the round of 8, we will likely face Argentina which wasn't that impressive either.

How do you can say that if Belgium always got eliminated in the round of 16?
vs Brasil in 2002: Goal cancelled and we still don't know why
vs Germany in 1994: Penalty denied and we still don't know why
vs England in 1990: We dominate the whole game and England is doing an hold-up
1986: semi-finals

Koen, the commentators said during the match that in 2007, they were giving tickets away in Brussels in order to get people to come to Belgium's home matches. Is that true?

It's worst than that, there were free tickets in washing powder. We are coming from that far.
