More important than the temperature change is the enthalpy of phase change, 334 J/g. That's a good 3-5 times more heat Aokiji absorbed.

On the other hand, I also just figured Entei was the 5000 K of the sun's surface, and since radiation is by the fourth power of temperature, that's 35.5 MW per m^2. And it will of course be a whole 'nother ball game if there's combustion/fusion/plasma going on in there.

I'm not going to do any more math because I'm on vacation.

I think I'm still either standing by the pokemon case or it could also just be an Ace vs. Smoker case: fire vs. smoke; heat vs. cold. I definitely don't see Aokiji freezing Ace though.
Ah, that's right, the phase change stuff. Forgot about that. I think it was called energy of fusion in my chem textbook, or something like that. So the scale tips even farther in Aokiji's case there.

K = kelvins? The radiation due to heat is irrelevant in this case, and may actually be detrimental to Ace. Due to what I think is the first law of thermodynamics, any energy radiated out would have to already exist in the heated mass anyway, and the radiation will take the heat away.

Yeah, I assumed he adds energy to maintain the temperature despite the energy it's putting out. Otherwise Entei wouldn't last a second. On the other hand that wouldn't explain why BB's skin didn't fry off.

I voted for Ace down to the principle that fire melts ice, which is maybe a simplistic way of looking at it but it stands to reason that just having power over a single element in it self will have an achilles heel. My inclination for an actual fight would be that it would be a draw, if it were down to DF power alone, logias just seem to have a method of cancelling one another out (with the exception of Teach). As fighters, the Will of D. will always reign supreme, at least from what we can assume of it.

If Entei were the same temperature as the surface of the sun, it would've burned the entire town, if not the planet, to a crisp. So that's a way overestimation.

Surface of the sun is actually crazy cold compared to the corona and the core where most of the energy comes from. Basically though, yeah, it's really hard to gauge where it is.

Heat and temperature, despite being used interchangeably by ignorant layfolk, are very different, though related, scientific concepts.

Without going into too much detail of defining what they mean, Entei would not burn up the whole island even if it was the same temperature as the sun. The difference is in their size. The sun has dozens of orders of magnitude of more mass than even the largest Entei a human could possibly make could ever hope of having, and so has many, many orders of magnitude more heat energy. And when it comes to determining whether you can burn something up, it is heat transfer that is the key.

The flame of a properly adjusted acetylene welding torch has a flame about 7,000 F, with is only a couple thousand degrees below the surface temperature of the sun. I would surely hope you don't think that a small torch like that has enough heat to melt an entire school to the ground, despite the high temperature reading.

For some reason, voltage is also a victim of a similar tragedy of understanding like heat and temperature are.

"elemental advantages" do not apply here, because we have no reason to assume that one logia fruit is more "energy" efficient than another.
To make it simple and going by the names and what we have seen:
Aokiji freezes stuff, i.e. takes energy away
Ace burns stuff, i.e. adds in energy (at least to the point of ignition and maybe provides fuel)

So pitting their logia powers against each other is merely a matter of "power" or the "battery" behind it. But so far we have only seen Ace sucked dry by BB.

btw it is theoretically possible to freeze fire. Oxygen freezes around 55° K (and nitrogen around 60° K, so the air would freeze as well). So if it were possible to instantaneously take away enough energy, one could freeze a flame.

But we dont have a frozen mass on one side and a burning one on the other, so physical considerations are moot. Well, actually we have in case of the attacks (e.g. ice spear and fire bullet), but we dont have any numbers to work with.

This is One Piece not science lesson.

The logias would cancel each other out.

Fire melts ice. Unless Aokiji has some awesome counter in his sleeve, it's Ace's victory hands down.
