Introduction
I think that I may be underestimating how big a deal Acrinak must be for Zahard himself to show up in person.

Yasratcha explicitly commented on this:
What kind of great being is in there that the king came out to inspect it and brought this much army with him?
Zahard specifically chose to supervise the operation to capture Acrinak. This led Yasratcha to wonder what kind of "great being" Acrinak must be.

The worst case scenario for Acrinak is that the operation to capture it was an operation that the Commander in Chief of the Army felt the need to personally supervise. The best case scenario is that it's an operation that the King of the Tower felt the need to supervise (that is overruling the Commander in Chief).

I'll consider the worst case scenario.

The Commander in Chief's Supervision
Suppose that before Adori, Zahard himself was the Commander in Chief of the Zahard Army.

So this battle against Acrinak was a battle big enough to be supervised by the Commander in Chief.

Well, per Soo-Oh, the Commander in Chief rarely shows up at the battlefield and mostly just directs battles from Army HQ.

In Adori's case, it may be the case that she has never shown up at the battlefield.

The Nest
At the Nest, the Zahard Army is up against a considerable force from FUG:
  • An Irregular Slayer Candidate
    1. Baam
  • 2 Elders
    1. Khel Hellam
    2. Sophia Tan
  • 3 Slayers
    1. White
    2. Yama
    3. Karaka
  • The Heroes of the Walls
    1. Cha
    2. Dowon
  • An Ex Ruler
    1. The Infernal Evankhell
  • Heretical Regulars
    1. Rak the Leader
    2. Khun AA the notorious
    3. Hwa Ryun
    4. Shibisu
    5. Hatsu
  • Other High Ranker calibre opponents
    1. Doom
    2. Paul
    3. Augusgus
    4. Hansung Yu
    5. Soo-Oh
    6. The Canine guarding the Needle

The equivalent of 3 Army Corps (the old 4th Army Corps, the new 4th Army Corps and the 5th Army Corps) were even dispatched for this battle.

And yet, it wasn't a big enough deal for Adori to show up even just to supervise the operation.

Instead she dispatched only Maschenny:

We don't know what status Maschenny holds in the Zahard Army, but even if she wields some sort of chief position, she would still be below Adori.

So the Nest just isn't a battle that requires the Commander in Chief to supervise.

That makes the Commander in Chief supervising Acrinak's capture really fucking impressive.

You could actually make the case that Acrinak was evaluated to be a threat greater than the forces of FUG dispatched to the Nest.

Caveats
1. Traumerei was planning on coming to the Nest.

However, that was only slated for after the Princess had already captured the Irregular. So the Army may have expected to best FUG (or at least capture the Irregular) with just the forces they had dispatched already.

2. Perhaps Zahard only supervised Acrinak's capture because the Princesses of Zahard did not exist back then?

This is slightly plausible, because the Princesses were supposedly created to quell discontent with Zahard stopping the climb and having no heir after becoming the King.

However, Zahard's blog post says that some of the Floors were conquered by Zahard's daughters.

Zahard was also already recognised as a King during Genesis, so it's not impossible that the Princesses existed back then.

Conclusions
Maybe I've been underrating Acrinak all along.

It may be in fact superior to the combined FUG forces at the Nest.

If it's to be a countermeasure to the appearance of a Family Leader, it would be.

First, I want to give you some props for making theory threads like this one for example, you have some good POV and knodwledge about the lore in general even though I disagree sometimes with you, for example when you talk about Maschenny but that's another subject ! :)

Now, about Zahard presence there, I think we will have a definitive answer next chap, but imo it's not really because he wants to have an active role in the battle.

He could just be curious about the fight between his army and the ancient one here, as we know, he is not there physically and can't help his army if things are going bad, for me subordinates like Pudidy are enough to give good advices for example.

He could have used a lighthouse or any device to observe the battlefield though; that's why I think he appears in hologram to make his presence known for 2 possible reasons.

  1. He wants to motivate his troops
  2. He wants to interact with the ancient one, to negociate peace with him, just like what his army did in the past, peace or annihilation (more likely)

It's most likely one of these:
1. Ancients are some of the strongest non-irregular or THE strongest
2. There is something deeper going on.
3: kallavan (User): "He wants to interact with the ancient one, to negociate peace with him, just like what his army did in the past, peace or annihilation (more likely)"

It's too early to judge though, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's because of it's power. Zahard can't attack it because the amount of power needed would anger the administrator and the ancient can't fully release it's power without getting wrecked by the administrator. So we'll have the ancient holding back and eventually being angered to release it's power by the canines or Owl, forcing either Traum or Zahard to intervene, which leads to it's presumed sealing.

+1 more of threads like these.

We're suffering from Mas overload.
You're really not going to like the next thread I planned then.

In all honesty, this was just written as a precursor to write that thread.

I'm drafting a thread to speculate as to what Maschenny's master plan is and why she sent Baam to release Acrinak.

I am sort of ambivalent here. I am sure this guy is powerful.. the question is powerful to whom exactly. We saw that zahard mobilized his army to deal with him. And he was there as a hologram watching. Which to tower citizens is a big enough deal since seeing any of the 13 warriors at all is a privileged reserved to very few. Of course, this varies between great warriors and families to some extent but looking upon one is still essentially an honor.

So, zahard showing up as a hologram highlights the importance of the situation. but on the other hand, how much of a threat can it be if he only appeared as a hologram? Can something that is manageable by zahard's army be a threat to zahard? Or could the army handle an actual threat to zahard? So far the implication appears to be that a family head can easily foderize an entire family or even the entire zahard army. To me it'd make sense if this guy was a lot stronger than your kallavans, yaratchas or lyboricks... but a threat to zahard seems like a stretch if a dozen kallavans and however many rankers did the job.

Hwaryun and Hockney put aside (guide and future sight), the rest are nonfactors. Especially Shibisu and to a lesser extent Hatsu (barely comparable to a 10 familiy fodder).

Especially Shibisu
Don't sleep on Shibisu.

We're going to find out he has something like the King Engine, and likewise incidental, possibly subconscious, causality manipulation (in his favor).

Wangnan as well... but a more masochist version. Heh

Yes this powerful Ancient is going to be the trumpcard for Baam and his friends to escape from the Nest.

Though i am curious how strong Baam is going to become after this powerup.

  • AA
    • Restored Prime White's power
    • Killed Dokoko
  • Rak
    • Perforated Beyond Prime White
  • Shibisu and Hatsu
    • Helped restore Prime White's power
    • Helped AA find Lefav (necessary for killing Dokoko)
    • Hatsu's Donghae neutralised a High Ranker's technique.

Of course AA and Rak later absorbed White's power.

AA and Shibisu are here more for their big brain abilities (and AA's Firefish) than direct combat abilities.

Basically what @kkck said.

I think we're getting into territory of :

- FH

.... <--- somewhere in between, however high or low in power-scale

- Average CC, top 100 low-end

AA :
-Only elaborated part of the plan, Doom&Paul were the ones to stall Dokoko preventing any secondary shockwaves from reaching the nearby regs. Shibisu was the one to find Lefav's position thanks to his high IQ and Evankhell was the one to reach the latter forcing her to fire a super bullet. Said in other words, any smart regular could've replaced Khun there.
Also, no he didn't restore White's power, it was the succession of actions described above which led White to regain his prime strength thanks to Dokoko's soul.

Rak :
-Which is BS, 1 or 2 months ago, he was seen struggling against a mere C-class reg' (Akraptor's daughter) who masterfully dealt with his Mad Shocker throw.

Shibisu :
Any smart-regular scout could've replicated his feat and there're plenty. Not related to strength at all.

About absorbing White's power :
-Yet another BS, Khun&Rak should've died because that's what was implied in the daller show arc. SIU said fuck to consistency when he decided so. Any other reg', including weak ones like Yoe Goseng just to state a name, would've received White's power without problem in the same situation.

I still think it's too early to tell.

You have fate in bugs now lmao.
"Now" he says.

Certainly you've been conversing with me longer than that.

See my first post in this thread though - I don't think Acrinak has a chance in hell against a FH, but that doesn't mean it might not have a good showing, or force a FH to actually flex a bit to put it down. More than other bugs for sure.

Its definitely powerful. It could instantly subdue 3 branch leaders and their creatures as well as Owl. He defeated everyone there on the battlefield except Wangwang.

And now the latest chap has the ancient fighting a Family Leader.

To be fair, it's a tad early to say acrinak is going to "fight" the family leader. Or even it's shineuh. I suppose acrinak's ability to target the enemy's... consciousness? mind? Could help against a shineuh but it's a hard sell that if yaratcha could resist the ability on a whim and wang wang was straight up immune this would work on traumerei. I suppose we have barely seen what acrinak can do at this point.

I do wonder why zahard was targeting ancient species though... It's also a bit weird that as we see how zahard dealt with ancient species we also have the possibility of an entirely new one coming into play (yama).
