No seriously, I've noticed the bias on forums towards university age people before and it reflects the age of the people who go to UK conventions.

I read there's three demographcs at conventions and expos in both the UK and the USA.

1 - younger fans aged 12-19, who are into the most popular shonen series, give out free hugs and carry signs offering 'free rape' lol
2 - early 20s, who are more serious about cosplay, spend the most on anime manga and merchandise, and spend a fortune drinking at the bar (especially in the UK)
3 - older fans who are interested mainly in older series from their youths, and 'go in and get out' without interacting with younger fans

The older fans are dismissive of both groups of younger fans but it isn't really returned against them because they don't hang around telling younger people what to do. There's actually more tension on the forums between the the early 20s (or late teens and early 20s) demographic and the younger fans, but also a lot more overlap between them than some people might think.

It was about 15 years ago, when I first started reading manga and now I'm 31. I hope I am still reading manga 15 years from now, if the stories stay interesting.

There's only two mangas that I'm really into and that is Berserk and Bastard!!. And what got me into them were the animes, back in the late nineties. So I've been into this since my early twenties. I don't there is a reason to stop enjoying anime and manga after 30 or anything. I've been reading some posts where people say that they're considering reading manga less because they're getting older. That's just BS, that's like saying you're going to stop watching movies or cartoons because you're more mature.

Mid 30's here, though I don't really consider myself to be much of a manga reader... I've only read 1 (and havent finished it yet)! I'd love to read more, just need more time. Maybe by the time I'm in my 40's I'll start on my second one. :darn
