Akainu is planned to be one of the final villains for the series. We don't know too much about him but I have an idea of two villains he could be like.
How he could be like Snoke:
Anime was the head of the First Order and shot caller. His second in command was of course Hux. Then Kylo served as his disciple.
How this could be applied to Akainu is that since he is the Fleet Admiral he could now start doing things similar to Snome. Smoke wanted all the Jedi gone and Akainu wants the same for pirates. But his plan will be further and go for the head down. Starting with the Yonkou and moving to the worst generation and so on. The Kylo Ren here could be Coby and he will force Coby to fight a weaken Luffy and kill him.
How he can be Thanos:
Thanos(in the MCU) wanted to prevent overpopulation by killing half of all life in the universe. So he gathered the infinity stones and did the deed.
So maybe Akainu could be after stopping pirates since maybe his home was destroyed by them, but then there's the WG. Akainu could plan to take them out as well leaving only the Marines. He could gather the three ancient weapons, the One Piece (somehow), the treasure of Mariejois, and the egg of Rogers ship and use them to completely over power all the pirates.
