The only thing I would have done was added a small black stroke to the text, so that it didnt blend in with the white background areas~

Actually, I wanted it to blend with the background. By the way, the background is supposed to be transparent (if you take a look at my actual sig space), but it turned out white when I uploaded it to photoplog... Ahh, thank god we don't have the dark forum theme right now...

Argh, don't you just hate it when you lose quality when saving for web? The black was supposed to have more of a brush-like quality, but it was gone when I saved for web.

Hey guys, I need an idea for a new theme since Vintage has stepped down and Tsuki is out for a while.

I was thinking of going with balloons for the next theme? How does that sound?

I could use some suggestions, for this or other upcoming bi weekly contests.

- You don't have to 'save for web' when you are saving your images for this contest, (as long as you keep the file size under 400 kb)
It should be more difficult to make a 200x600 signature that exceeds 400kb than not to.
All that is unless you have animation and then you DO need to use 'save for web' and also watch the file size.

Another thing I usually do when I submit my signatures, is I change the

part of the photoplog provided link to my own link from my photobucket account.
This way you are displaying a higher quality image.(In the submission area anyways.)

I got to agree with Coffee here. I think this theme could produce some interesting sigs, but it would be difficult and likely not that popular since you are dealing with a very specific subject. And to be honest I would not be that motivated to enter this theme. Sorry.

I think broader themes that allow for more creativity usually draw more entries as people can put their own take on the theme.

But I'm not very good at thinking of things so I definitely couldn't come up with anything better. Sorry.

I will try to think of things for the future though.

I just thought of a theme genre that might work. Something like: Siblings, Family, brothers. etc. They are broad so that people have many options for character/render choices and people can put their own take on the theme very easily.

Has there ever been a myth/legend theme? It would be interesting to see the many variations of mythology and people's take on it. If it hasn't been done yet I think I'd like to do it

Thanks everyone for the ideas so far. There was a theme about mothers a while back, so that would count for the family I suppose. I'm not sure on the myths one though. I'll still wait for a few more suggestions and go with myth if no one objects.

There was a mythology theme before, I saw it in the Hall of Fame.

We could always do freestyle sometime, there hasn't been one of those in quite a while. Or maybe Abstract, like you don't use a character in it kind of thing, that would be very different.

Actually that is not a bad idea at all, I think Coffee wanted to do something like that before, or maybe it was Gender bender? Or both? But I think both would be pretty interesting.

Thanks everyone for the input. I've decided to go a head with using both choices. This weeks bi weekly contests theme will be a duel theme.

You can make an entry of either a character cross over theme or an abstract one. The choice of either one is yours, Good luck.

I have a question about the cross over theme. Does this mean the sig has to have characters from one anime/manga dressing as someone from an another anime/manga. Or does it mean having two characters together in the sig from two different anime/manga? Or is it possibly both?

I think either way is fine. How you interpret the theme can be seen differently from another person, kinda like how the sand theme or the twins theme went. Seeing if the others understand your interpretation, that's something else. ^^
