Nice submission Yao. The text is a bit strange,but other than that I like it.

Made this last night,the text sucks, but just wanna get some feedback on the sig.

mmmmm, I personally like black n white works, but it doesnt seem like a lot of people do....
(Though I think its even better if you have at least 1 point of color)

Lets see~ it looks pretty good but the left side (our left) of the render clashes with the flow on the right side of the render (again in my opinion)

and about the text you mentioned maybe if you titled it diagonally with the flow of the background (and maybe even changed it to your point of color), it might help~

I think I know what you mean about the left side. It looked a bit empty to me,but I didn't get any good results with it after messing around so i decided to leave it like that. With the text, I wanted to do the same effect like the right side of the render, but I haven't tried it yet.

Yeah Mugetsu....well at least that's the name of the render. I didn't really check it out because I really don't like using Bleach characters for my sigs, but I'll check to see if it's the correct thing.

It is correct, but I think Coffee just meant to show that making the text with the first letter colorized might look good. I also agree that this is something you might want to try. Or mabye a hint of color in his eyes? Overall, the sig looks really nice IMO. Black and white sigs are very hard to make and you succeeded. Good work!

Spent a long time pondering and cursing while doing this..sigh.., this goes without saying when I don't have the experience.
Anyway, I still continue and this is the result:

It's already been three years since the sig contest started? Wow, it didn't feel like it lol. But good luck to the entrants!

Are we allowed to combine themes? I was thinking of doing that. If not I'll just have to pick one. There's a lot of themes to choose from. Three years worth of it.

I know it is crazy to think it has been around so long, but it really has!

Umm... combine themes? Like ~Coffee~ pointed out, there is the "freestyle" theme. Plus, if you combine themes, you are still using at least one. For example, if you combined the "female" and "beach" themes, you would, I suppose, have females on a beach, and so you might as well just say that you used the "beach" theme.

So, I guess I would say that you should pick the most appropriate theme for your submission if you are using multiple themes for inspiration.

Yeah, good catch. I used last year's anniversary special submission thread as a template, and back then we were using a different gallery system. Thank you, Vinty, for fixing the error!

- The render is kinda separated from the background. It does not blend with it too well.
- I know that the left side is supposed to be a bit brighter than the right one but you need to look for it in order to find it (the lighting should be clearer).
- Great text!
- The effect u used around the character (the sparkles if you wanna call them that) is totally cool and appealing.

Additional advice: use gardiant maps and photo filters until you find the desired look.

Thanks Shin ! I'll get to it right away...is what I would say but I'm on my phone now so I'll do it tomorrow.
Gradient maps, I never thought of it...that's a good idea and about the effects, I was wondering whether I should or should not use it but now I know I should. Agree with the lighting, played around with it too much that it lost the focus I wanted to give it.
I think the render will blend if the background isn't as bright..

@Coffee: I like the first one. And as for the Tears sig, I think the text color is a bit dark and makes it a little hard to read. Other than that, it looks good.

@Tsuki: Thanks for the clarification. I totally forgot about the freestyle theme, but I think I'll combine some of the themes and choose the most obvious theme. There are some that go well together.

@Zeltrax: Go ahead and try out the other adjustment layers while working with Gradient maps and photo filters. There are other nice effects you can acheive with the other layers. As for my advice, the sig's a bit too spacey; I think you should crop it a little so Gintoki will be more focused instead of looking lost.

Another alternative would be adding another image to the background and just lower the opacity or changing the style. That would be fine too.

Btw, I like the first two fonts about the same, I don't like the 3rd one. I like the sig a lot, and the quote is great. However, I don't really like the text itself. It's too spread out for my tastes and I'm not sure about the fonts either.

Also, that last pic made me lol so hard. Your rivalry with Zee is very amusing.

About the tears sig, I rushed the text as it was pushing 4 am while I was doing it~

@Coffee- Which font was the original one? I can't seem to find an earlier post of that sig. Anyways, I guess I like the second font most.

The winner of the tree sig contest has been decided, and the winner is Zeltrax! This is Zeltrax's first win in the Sig Contest.

I had already asked Zeltrax whether the central character had any connection to trees, to which he replied that there was no connection, but not having any information on the character I decided to look her up. For those unfamiliar with this delightful green-haired maiden, she comes from a visual novel called Shuffle! where you form a romantic connection with one of the young ladies. Asa is the senpai of the male protagonist, Rin (you, essentially, if you play the game).

Bathed in sunlight in this leafy bower, Asa looks quite lovely and perfectly complements the scenery. The way the light shines down upon her and creates shadows upon her make her stand out vividly, helping her to come out of the image. The background greenery is so beautiful; it almost looks like a watercolor or Disney movie (random thought, I know ). Asa's hair and uniform blend so well with the trees, reminiscent of the enchanting dryads of ancient Greek myth.

The girl under the tree with caring eyes and a gentle eyes shall be your sweet guide through the forest. Trust your senpai, and follow her into the light.

Congratulations, Zeltrax, once more on your first win! Like a sapling growing into a mighty oak, you have progressed in your artistic talent over these past several contests, and it has been so wonderful to watch you flourish. You thought Asa didn't have any special connection to the theme, but she did have a connection because you made the connection through your art. That is the mark of a great artist. Continue to climb to even greater heights and branch out with new techniques and styles.
