Don't say the answer is to attack corporations and billionaires and kill jobs. And don't say its Trump's fault when you can't connect him to any of it using basic facts or logic.
THoughts on companies killing jobs despite getting loans to prevent doing exactly that? :fan

I explained all of it, back in a blog entry I wrote around 2005.

Flexed my puny muscles. Thought I was "smart" for figuring it out.

Then I realized countless others had already done so.

Some did it 50 to 100+ years before I knew anything about it.

CEOs who kill jobs, are very big fans of the above meme.

They can't wait to take selfies with their hyperinflated billions tacked to cardboard signs and big smiles on their faces.

That I'm sure was "censored" and can't be shared now, right?

I'm afraid most of us just aren't red-pilled enough, so please just be charitable for once and actually explain in detail all of things you "figured out" years ago that the masses are ignorant towards.

I'm not really aiming to be this sarcastic or offtopic, but this is a reoccurring theme with your posts. You hint at some sort of secret enlightenment that people aren't prepared to hear and never expound upon it. Quite frankly it makes you sound more unreasonable then you might actually be.

Saying billionaires should pay more in taxes is "attacking" them?

Forget Trump and partisanship.

How do we fix supply chain issues?

Please don't say the answer is for people to sacrifice more freedom, rights or pay higher taxes.

Welp, the post I wrote earlier was about price gouging on part of shipping companies. Not about solving the crisis as a whole, or any amount of it. just a specific part of the problem...

Also, I didn't say it was trump's fault. I am pretty sure in that I've been at least mostly consistent in that presidents don't have that much of an effect of macro economic issues. In turn it was your post that suggested that trump was the one at fault here. Since the stuff in question began right in the middle of trump's president and carried on into biden's. Now, I don't have a solution for the supply chain crisis but, um, I wasn't even talking about that.

What affect do you think trucker shortages alone and in of itself is having when we need 17 cross-country trips PER ACTIVE TRUCKER just to clear the backlog?

If the flow of container ships and trucks ceased.

My region of the USA could last 7 days before we completely ran out of supplies.

If there is a real problem. I suspect people will know soon enough.

presidents don't have that much of an effect of macro economic issues

China's President banned bitcoin and cryptocurrencies.

While the President of el salvador made bitcoin legal tender and proposes to build "bitcoin city" which advertises to have no income, property, retail or capital gains tax.

Ronald Reagan's tax plan was very similar to Donald Trump's proposed tax reforms.

While Joe Biden and Barack Obama had very similar plans which were the opposite of a Reagan/Trump economy in many ways.

None of this has "much of an effect" on macro economic issues?

If you say so, brotato.

Saying billionaires should pay more in taxes is "attacking" them?

Should entrepreneurs like Elon Musk pay higher taxes.

When virtually all of their net worth is invested in advancing EV and aerospace markets.

Nearly all of Elon Musk's capital is devoted towards starting businesses to make progress in science and technological fields.

Should he pay higher taxes considering he will put that money to better use than NASA would on the aerospace side. And he would undoubtedly put that money to better use in addressing climate change with solar city, tesla and his battery company than democrats would with their green new deal.

None of this makes sense, but the right hardly know anything about economics, they just care more about benefitting the wealthy and giving them free handouts. Nor does it count because we're not talking about 2005, we're talking about 2020, when covid hit and airlines were "strapped" for cash and wanted to lay off workers. Got money to stop that, but they still did it, but I forgot if they bought back stocks or not.

Republicans are bad for the economy, as are Democrats who side with businesses.

Should entrepreneurs like Elon Musk pay higher taxes.
Yes, given that entrepreneurs like him get government subsidies to keep their shit running.

Billionaires and tech corporations are the backbone of the US economy. A good portion of american freedom and quality of living are thanks to silicon valley. Microsoft, google, amazon, apple, etc.

Democrats seem to think the path to elevating their own standard of living revolves around overtaxing silicon valley to its destruction and killing american jobs. Its an interesting worldview.

I heard airline vaccine mandates worked wonders there.

Joe Rogan and Elon Musk moved from democrat california to republican texas for exactly that reason. (cue: sarcasm)

You never hear about smart people or big business moving from a red (republican) state to a blue (democrat) state. They always move from democrat states to republican states.

I wonder why that is.

Yes, given that entrepreneurs like him get government subsidies to keep their shit running.
Auto loans were dispensed primarily for ford, chrysler, GM. Tesla's loan was small, paid off quickly with little or no impact.

Space X subsidies from NASA were more vital.

Wthout space X... NASA would not have a rocket capable of reaching orbit. They certainly would never have received the $60 billion they wanted to develop the Ares I rocket.

NASA, science and america needed Space X much more than Space X needed NASA.

They are the opposite of backbone, when they kill small businesses and exploit people and resources for their own gain. People are just brainwashed or deluded into thinking they're good when they're the opposite, paying little to no taxes while underpaying their employees.

Democrats aren't killing American jobs, companies are, out of greed. Companies that can afford to stay in USA choose to move out and exploit people of other countries to save money, and they choose to lay off people even after getting tax breaks or loans. Blaming Dems is nonsense and ignorant, otherwise one can blame republicans for "killing jobs" as well. And there's no such thing as overtaxing when companies like AMazon barely pay anything in taxes.

Vaccine mandate is in no way related to airlines laying off their employees after getting a loan to stop that from happening, and then using it poorly once again for their own gain. Nice try though.

I mean, red states are cheaper to live in, but they also rely on federal funding and are dependent on the leaders' competence. Look at what happened when electricity (or heater?) in Texas stopped working during a winter a while ago, which apparently could have been prevented. Abbott is actually quite incompetent.

Um, isn't Delaware a blue state? And wasn't Amazon planning to open up a location in NYC few years ago? And isn't Silicon Valley in a blue state? And weren't people originally moving to LA, San Fran, and NYC?

Doesn't matter, Tesla still got a subsidy, and from our tax money.

That makes no sense when NASA had rockets capable of reaching orbit way before SpaceX. NASA and USA does not need Space X, Space X needs subsidies and taxpayers way more than anyone needs the company.

Do you think I just posted a chart and walked away with nothing else to say?

I've addressed, or at least acknowledged, everything you have brought up, and a little in part of how they're all related as per reading a lot from various sources.

*I* am not the one framing this issue as a function of demand gone rogue (that's the 'look over there!' tactic from the left). It's only a (relative) vast leap compared to the chasm of covid. The shutdown is proving expensive to rectify. Now, layer in alllll the other issues.

The entire point is that this isn't the 'fault' of demand. Demand can be absorbed, at levels present, in of itself. The issue is the shutdown and other mitigating factors making it worse - namely the response to the shutdown. Which I've itemized at least in part.

If you listen to the media you'd think too many people ordering shit Ikea or kettlebells is the problem. It isn't, and it's not even close to being the problem. People want a relatively little more than they had been wanting pre-covid, and they're expecting that from a freight structure that was nearly terminal. And politicians are holding a pillow over its face while in the ICU.

We don't even have the capacity to absorb pre-covid demand with everything else in play.

If you had a shipping company and it took you 2-3x longer to unload (where you cannot be doing another load - opportunity lost) while you had to continue to burn fuel and pay employees on a load that should have already been docked and unloaded, and THEN you had to return empty, what do you think you'd do to your rates? Just a 10% bump? Again, shipping is a very low-margin business. At least historically. This is unprecedented. And global.
Not really sure of how to respond to this. Sure, the origins of this definitely lies in the pandemic and lockdowns... but widespread lockdowns haven't happened in a while (though a few nations have implemented partial ones recently). There isn't currently an issue of ending lockdowns. What we have is simply high demand (which is factual, not a US left wing talking point...), actual scarcity of a lot of things, bottlenecks across supply chains and on top of that high freights (which are possibly the result of price gouging). Not sure of how you "absorb" demand. A company could temporarily absorb the high cost of freights or delays in orders but... What about companies that simply aren't receiving raw materials in a timely manner or at all? Which is happening across the globe. There is no absorbing that. Add to that, I work in imports... these things have been an issue for over a year and a half now. What I am seeing recently though is that even though the freight part of the issue is slowly improving, the scarcity part for a number of things is getting worst...

Yeah they should.

How he chooses to invest his wealth changes things how? The IRS should just make a value judgment on how one billionaire invests their money and decides they don't need to pay taxes but this other billionaire isn't investing their wealth in the "right" places so they actually should have to pay taxes? You see the issue there no? Keep in mind that the enterprises you mentioned are already funded by tax dollars via subsidies.

So the government should just turn a blind eye because someone's money is deemed more worthwhile to them? A reminder that we're not starting from a place where someone is paying a comparable rate to the average person and we want them to pay more, we're talking about 3%...

I missed this, and some will argue it doesn't matter since this is a Dem state, but... I think it's par for the course. And this is the police. This isn't taking into consideration your average joe-schmoe worker.

It's funny because cops are supposed to care about citizens and protect them, and yet they're doing the opposite.

It's funny because the article he posted essentially says the opposite, using your standards which for some reason are apologist for non-scientific medical tyranny.

Hey, does someone wake up every morning and paint you on an easel? Your comments are so laughably-predictable that you have to be a bot of some kind.

*meep moop* *police bad* *meep moop*

Anyways, do you guys remember when the cops brought in the Waukesha MASS MURDERER (because you're so worried about reporting the loss of human lives considering your interest in the Rittenhouse case) without incident, alive?

No? Because your silence is deafening.

Tell me more about how police as a whole, or even in any significant part, make the lives of citizens worse.

Shocker. The need to eat (and thus maintain work) trumps the need to make a political point.

Which is what the fascistic state relies on with their dictate.

I realize pedantic arguments over semantics is a riot with the left (as are false equivalencies), but it is what it is.

Gotta love how the right whines about "right to body and choice!" when it comes to vaccine and mask, even though kids who want to go to school are required to get vaccinated and have been for decades, but when it comes to women's right over their bodies, the right oppose freedom and the right for women to make their own choices with their bodies.

I'm guessing you're known to dabble in left-wing ideology from time to time.

You know, like those experimental times many have in college.
