I mean, yeah there are some bad people mixed in, there isn't any doubts about that but "many" in what way do you mean that?
We'd have to go into a philosophical discussion of what "bad" means and how it defines a person to answer that question. Fact is being an illegal immigrant already means they're criminal since they broke the law. What else they do is debatable, but since they've risked going to America the way they did it's fair to assume other things they'd allow themselves to do.

although I don't know what his end game might be tbh.
Oh come on, you know what Trump's end game is. It's making America great again

Today is Marco Rubio's day. Lettuce win Floridians hearts and usher in a new American century.
He needs not only to win, but ideally he wants to win by a larger margin to make the win count as much as possible. If Cruz managed to win Texas so should Rubio win Florida, but I wonder how far behind the 2nd place will be.

Personally I think he is there for his own ego. He said he was going to run for president for the same reason he says anything, to get attention, and then just went with it.
That seems a bit unlikely though. He stirred up hate and there's many angry people, as well as iirc the Mexican leader of some gang that want him dead. Would he really risk his life just for funsies? It feels like there's more to it.

Florida is winner takes all though so 2nd is the same as coming in last.

Oh I didn't know that, interesting.

Lamenting about old times in what way exactly?? He wants people who disrupts his rallies to be arrested, doesn't care what the charge is and has threatened to press charges, which basically means nothing. He doesn't even understand the law. He also wants to "open up" libel laws to suppress free speech as well.

Yeah, some do resist. What does that have to do with the legality of it?
Yes he wants them arrested and charged. I'm saying that he mentioned how it used to be better many years ago when that was possible and he wishes it could be done nowadays too.

Just because they resist doesn't mean the security can't just give up and let them be you know? What I'm saying is that most of the times the protesters force their hands and bring it upon themselves that they have to be kicked out with more force than it should be necessary.

Yet he didn't know who he was or what white supremacy was until people winced and cringed at him for yet another mishap that just happens to work in his favor in the end. Awww shucks, what an accident! :4head Sanders wouldn't have acted like he didn't know who Duke was. Tt isn't like Duke would have endorsed him anyways, that's ridiculous.
I don't see why would he lie about not knowing him? What is there to gain?

Oh and right on cue, we have one of the more important people of the KKK endorse Hillary. Did she disavow yet?!?!

I was insulting his supporters, not him. I don't think he needs me to insult him to get my point across. I actually think he's way more shrewd than he appears and is exploiting the ignorant masses with his toxic rhetoric for his benefit.
So you insult his supporters by calling him a racist? Okay. Yeah I also suspect that he's just playing the people to get the republican nomination. If he gets it, I'm calling it that he'll change a few of his opinions or suggestions, or sweep many things under the rug to appease to the bigger masses during the general election. I don't think you can or should blame the masses however. Most are regular people, if they're getting played then it's because Trump knows when, how and what to say.

And why exactly are you so fervently defending him? The only thing you've done is defend him and critique his detractors, without mentioning any of your own views (outside of your concern for xenophobic stance towards non-Americans, which is obviously not going to end in an endorsement for him if you have any common sense) or why you even support him. You come off as either a troll or a contrarian and seem to always resort to ad hominem when you don't like what people have to say.
I'm not exactly sure what you're talking about here? We're in an election thread talking about the nominees and their policies, right?

Are you asking me why I support Trump? Shouldn't the reason be the same for all people, like why you support Bernie? I simply agree more with Trump on his stances and policies than I do with Cruz, Rubio, Sanders or Hillary. Sanders is up there as well which is why I hope him to get the democrat nomination. It doesn't mean I have to love everything about the candidate, and we're most certainly not talking about who "human of the year" is. In that regard, I believe Jeb was the sweetest flower of them all, but the cruel and rough republican side ate him.
Well not much for me to do since we're not talking much about actual policies of candidates and it's more about finding dirt of a candidate or his supporters and talking about that.(well to be fair not much else is currently going on, will take some time till the next results and delegate count update).
And since we're doing that might as well question all these accusations and hate you people have of him, which is at least more fun and productive than joining the Sanders mob. So far, all things considered, it seems like most people make Trump out to be a much bigger devil than he actually is.
I'm pretty sure I kept the ad hominem to a minimum, but oh well. Still you're no flower yourself in that regard.

What the fuck is the difference really? He kicked off his campaign by painting illegal immigrants as rapists and criminals. He then had to backpedal and say he didn't mean "all". The fact this guy continues to have to backpedal and clarify what he means is NOT an accident. He uses this rhetoric to tacitly recruit the ignorant, racist, and bigoted.
No he didn't? I'm pretty sure in his first speeches about Mexicans he also said "some of them, I assume, are good people", but that doesn't change that he's mostly right about his other assessments. You do know that every illegal immigrant is a criminal right? Since being an illegal immigrant already means you broke the law. You probably don't have an experience about immigrating somewhere, but you know that legal immigrants hate illegal immigrants more than anyone else, so Trump used that fact to get the support from many legal immigrants in America. As it happens, asside from normal people his words also draw in some of the worst American citizens who are racists and bigots, who happen to be able to vote as much as a normal citizen. This can of course backfire on him, but it's overall smart to get such people on his side. All he has to do if he secures the nomination of the republicans is to change himself just enough(not too much but not too little) for the general election and he could have the presidency in the bag. Trump may be a prick and an asshole but he's definitely a smart man and has quite the original approach in this election. Currently Trump takes most news headlines and gets free publicity everywhere due to all the controversy he's sparking.

Well, but consider how much of a factor ego is in his campaign itself. He is basically butthurt. According to him the country is being run by losers, the country never wins, his opponents are either losers, weak or low energy, he flaunts his wealth in an absurd way, his hands are actually YYYUUUGGEE or whatever... The republican primaries have so far been a dick measuring contest both figuratively and literally. He at large does not care or knows what the truth is, he just says whatever suits and enlarges him. So yes, I do think he would do it for funsies (with funsies being his yuuuuuge ego). Logically there should be more to it however I do think logic does not apply when it comes to presidents and people who want to be one. It's the absolute worst job in the world. On the other hand trump (due to his ego) probably thinks being president is easier than whatever he is doing now.

Perhaps, hard to tell. I don't think that he believes the job as president to be easier however. Isn't the whitehouse basically a downgrade from the place he's living at right now?

Ugh figured that was what happened.
Don't let that fool you, Carson actually never said that, and neither did they quote him. This is what the people from thinkprogress imagined themselves(who btw aren't much of a credible source to begin with). You can do some reasearch, I did and they're bullshitting.

Well, probably. I guess the change from an opulent lifestyle to just a very comfortable one could hit him particularly hard....

According to few sources, Ben Carson did in fact say he was offered a position with Trump. So he's willing to side with a bad guy for a position. Not shocked.

Can't wait to see who Trump makes our enemies if he becomes president. I don't understand how anyone can trust Hillary, Trump, or Cruz, but most republicans are ignorant and sheeps, so I'm not that shocked there. Also wondering if Bernie Sanders supporters are asshats or if the media is just portraying them as such.

Rubio pulled out. Shame. As shitty as he is, he's still better than Cruz and Trump.

Trump actually won Florida? Impressive, although I wonder what's gonna happen with Rubio now. Will he continue or drop out? Or will he be like Chris Christie and go over to Trump's side?

No real reason to believe it, but that's what the guy himself says about it.

I am surprised, i genuinely thought rubio would stay at least out of principle to be able to say people with actual republican values are in the race. And with this the gop was defeated in a way and it did not even get to have a run at the presidency.

lol no, Rubio's speech implied he already believed the GOP ticket lost for this election cycle and Trump isnt anything that he described in his speech.

I dont know why people are like Kasich to make it to a brokered convention, hes not going to win any other state after Ohio tonight.

It's mathematically impossible for Kasich to get the needed delegates at this point, I wonder what makes him stay.

Yeah and is that something you agree with or what? I mean, if you do, then you're saying your fine with the suppression of free speech as long as it suits you. Which is exactly what Trump is for, and he's made that no secret. What Trump is referring to is when civil rights were a major issue and the government was the one actively oppressing people over such things. The Police weren't doing that in Chicago to anyone who wasn't breaking the law. Trump literally wants people who disagree with him to be muzzled. No other candidate in this race suggest such things because they actually know what the law is. Such things are even more dangerous than his ridiculous comments about the internet when it came to fighting terrorism.

When did I say that? I never said people shouldn't be removed from private property for such things. I'm pretty sure they plan on that happening when they do it. But they shouldn't have the shit beat out of them or have sucker-punches thrown at them and have that behavior minimized or even encouraged by Trump himself.

I don't see why would he lie about not knowing him? What is there to gain?
Feigned ignorance gets you a lot of things. I'm sure some racists took that as a reason to vote for him.

No, I insult his supports by being attracted to deliberately offensive rhetoric.

I've said similar things in the past, given that he's proven he has very little conviction in what he believes, but why does anyone have to put up with this embarrassing sideshow in the hopes that that'll be the case?

I don't exactly grasp why you could be for Trump and Sanders as a second choice. They have like...nothing in common. Unless you're simply voting for the people who some describe as "non-establishment". It's a nothing statement really. Trump is the 1% and Bernie has been in DC for 25 years.

I don't know why you're turning it against me as being no flower, I'm pretty sure I was the person who encouraged you to post here instead of keeping it private with me. Whatever.

I know the law here, thanks. And yes, while coming here illegally is...ILLEGAL (:4head), I don't think anyone is against perpetrators of violent crime not being here. Where the issue becomes way more nuanced is when it comes to the majority that have done nothing of the sort. The solution to dealing with it isn't as simple as building a wall and deporting millions of people and breaking up families. I'm not sure, but I doubt you'd be thrilled with someone who made offensive generalizations about Germans, caveat or not.

While these things might be shrewd are they honest at all? People are voting for him because "he tells it like it is", which essentially means nothing. This is like George Wallace all over again.

Ugh figured that was what happened.
How shocking. What a non-establishment operator! :4head

I for one, can't wait for someone who would wish to deny equal rights to all citizens and wants the Bible taught in schools to be the new Secretary of Education <_>

Don't let that fool you, Carson actually never said that, and neither did they quote him. This is what the people from thinkprogress imagined themselves(who btw aren't much of a credible source to begin with). You can do some reasearch, I did and they're bullshitting.

It's fighting a losin battle, given how popular Trump is. I would say Cruz is holding on to any glimmer of hope, possibly in Trump fucking up somehow. Not a lot of people give a shit about Rubio, so there's no point in him continuing to run. And I hope this is his last race. Right now, only thing that could derail Trump is him not being a misogynist racist we all thought he is.

I would love if more people interrupted his rallies and threw water balloons at his supporters for revenge. Should let them know they can't attack minorities and protesters at rallies and get away with it.

Here's hoping Christie and Jindal will never be candidates again. Jindal is a horrible human being and a disgrace to Indians everywhere, and many Indians in India do a good job of that already. I wonder where Hillary stands with women's rights, Planned Parenthood, and racial rights. And I don't mean what she has said, but what she really believes.

Clinton won every battle yesterday. Closest was missouri which sanders was leading all night until the end when she pulled 0.2 percent ahead. He should start penning his concession speech as it looks like hes all talk no voters.

I don't agree that they should be arrested unless they extremely overdo it, but regardless I have no sympathy at all for heavily disruptive protesters.
Btw those that end up punched and thrown out with more violence aren't the innocent victims you make them out to be.

Feigned ignorance gets you a lot of things. I'm sure some racists took that as a reason to vote for him.
Hm if you say so. I wonder if Hillary right now is rolling in the racists after her endorsement which she hasn't disavowed yet.

No, I insult his supports by being attracted to deliberately offensive rhetoric.

I've said similar things in the past, given that he's proven he has very little conviction in what he believes, but why does anyone have to put up with this embarrassing sideshow in the hopes that that'll be the case?
I don't see the point of insulting followers, but whatever floats your boat.

Put up with it in what way? The republican voters probably got played for the nomination, and from what it looks like he'll be the nominee. So it's almost unavoidable at this point. And from what it looks like it'll be Hillary on the other side. At the very least you can't disagree that this could be highly entertaining in the general election.

I don't exactly grasp why you could be for Trump and Sanders as a second choice. They have like...nothing in common. Unless you're simply voting for the people who some describe as "non-establishment". It's a nothing statement really. Trump is the 1% and Bernie has been in DC for 25 years.

Why "second choice"? I didn't say he's my second choice, I just prefer him over Hillary in the democrat side and wanted him to win that one.

Hm? What, are you regretting inviting me? :kappa I'm just saying that you're not the perfect role model of civil discussion either, but whatever. I'll try to tone it down with any ad hominems on my part.

And yes, while coming here illegally is...ILLEGAL (:4head)

Maybe, but it should be better than doing nothing at all I assume. No I wouldn't be happy, but it's not like Germans are currently anyone's problem. At least I see why those offensive generalizations are coming into play there. Btw did Trump say much about Germany? Afaik he only criticized Merkel but that's about it.

Yeah that reason is a bit silly. I guess people feel more attached to a guy who seems upfront and open? But it otherwise doesn't have much political meaning.

Uh yeah he did. Did you actually watch the interview the article quotes during your "research? :lmao
Yes I did, did you? Maybe I missed it, could you show me where he said "I didn’t want to endorse Trump, but he promised me a position"? Because that's what the article says.

It's horseshit. This is a man who did a ton of great things in his work, he was a local hero where I live. All of that has nothing to do with politics. But in the end he sold out just like everyone else, attaching themselves to the winning horse.
Poor political decisions or not, I don't think that should devalue all the good things he did in his life as many people say. But people also shouldn't give more value to his political ideas just because of all he did, as those two are unrelated.
Well can you blame him? Instead of going down he's jumping ship, probably something most people would do.

... where did he say he did not join Trump or was not offered a position? Your "research" indicates you do not know how to research or that you use biased sources that aren't credible (I'm pretty sure Think Progress is credible).
Stop putting words in my mouth, I didn't say that he didn't join Trump or wasn't offered anything. Maybe you should calmly reassess everything that was said?

Well, now that trump has bitch slapped the establishment this thoroughly the big big question for me is how exactly he will go about defeating Hillary. As popular as he is within the republican party to win the presidency I would think he needs to appeal to an even broader base of supporters. I would be quite surprised if the supporters he has now are enough to win him the presidency. Which means trump will likely have to backtrack a decent bit, lie his ass off, and say stuff which appeals to more people. Of course, such a change would by nature be a betrayal to his current supporters (as he would have to stop being an overtly racist and xenophobe caricature of a right wing nutjob who flaunts his wealth as if it gave him moral highground) but then again that might be preferable in his view to not having a chance.

I think you don't exactly understand why his supporters like him if you fear he may lose a bunch of them in the general election. Trump will most definitely dampen himself(not sure how much) to appease to much more people, but I strongly doubt he will be losing any of his supporters just because of that. Not to mention that they may even see it as him "pretending" to be more central in order to win, so I don't see his voters having a problem with it. Hillary is still most likely going to win regardless as I believe there's more people voting for democrat than there is on the republican side. Trump will need to have democrat voters vote him instead of Hillary, but I'm not sure how he plans to do that. I can see it happening with a few Bernie supporters as some really hate Hillary a lot, but they're a small enough number for it not to matter much. At this point it'll depend on how debates between Trump and Hillary go I'd say.
