What you are arguing is that people on minimum wage are morally obligated to be a specific level of poor beneath a proper living wage.... As in, it would be immoral for people at the lowest end of society to get a decent living. Even though the most basic objective of any half functioning society should be that even people at the lowest end can make a decent living.
Yes they are morally obligated to be at that level of poor because either A) they made a bad life decision to end up there or B) they are only working there to help them get through their further education, meaning they wont be having that job for more than at most four or five years. Outside of that, then its just a "you get what you get" type of thing.

Why would the objective of a society be that the marginalized make a decent living. I don't understand this statement. Why would we hardworking people want lazy people who are in these positions to be making significantly more than they are making AND receive all the government gifts and handouts? People struggled through high school to get grades to get accepted into college and then work hard in college to do well enough to get into a well paying job and then they work hard in these jobs to not only maintain them but to rise to higher positions. You want lazy people to earn more money for being lazy? No just no, I'm not having any of that! Absolutely not.

First of all, what you are proposing is literally helping people who don't need help and specifically avoiding help for people to need it. That's not just wrong, it's cruel and inhuman (aside from bafflingly moronic). Even in the case you mention of "people making bad life decisions"... Shouldn't the system be something that allows you to move past bad decisions? The US is hardly a land of opportunities if a bad decision or even a series of them throws you in a pit.
People making bad life decisions can always get jobs, even felons can still get jobs. People who are old aged, obese, have varying levels of mental capability, people with medically resultant physical issues can get jobs. American is a land of opportunity that enables any and everyone but the vegetative comatose, underaged children, and pregnant women to be able to get a job. Theres even agencies that help people job search. People who make bad life decisions can and do get help and they get jobs. They don't need nothing else until they become hardworking citizens gaining a toolbox of papers that claim they have skills. Are you one of the ones that when a three time drunk driving gets their license revoked after killing a person, believe that they ought to keep their license? Shouldn't those that make bad life decisions experience the "rewards" of their bad life decision and live it out? Its only fair. Just because something is fair and right doesn't make it moronic.

Ive not seen any hardworking American saying that they would be opposed to receiving discounts, gifts, or money from the government. Have you? Meaning hardworking Americans can use and deserve some help.

that's odd because I've read that Clinton campaign tried to distance themselves from Obama as much as possible due to his low approval, and now she's defending Obama? Very flip floppy.

But, is it Obama's fault that he wasn't progressive enough, or the politicians'? I sound like a broken record, but I'm 100% sure the politicians have been impeding Obama every step of the way. I can't believe people still wanna vote for her.
Maybe at some point people speculated that, but it doesn't seem like it ever happened. There was even that goofy blurb about her being asked if she would appoint Obama as a Supreme Court Justice or something and liking the idea.

Of course it's his fault. I think the issue most progressives have with him is the drone strikes. Whether he's progressive enough to some or not isn't dependent on whether obstruction has been going on or not.

Looks like my comments were confirmed via the Ohio Machete attack conducted by a Muslim Refugee!

Muslim refugee inflicts 'carnage' inside Ohio restaurant
"A Muslim man from Somalia unleashed a bloody machete attack on patrons at a restaurant owned by a Christian Arab Israeli in Columbus, Ohio, Thursday night and police are investigating it as a possible act of “lone wolf” terrorism.

CBS News was first to identify the attacker, who entered the Nazareth Mediterranean Restaurant and began slashing people, as a Somali immigrant named Mohamed Barry.
“He came to each table and just started hitting them,” one of the diners, Karen Bass, told CBS News. “There was a man on the floor bleeding, there was blood on the floor. It was awful. It was just carnage.”

If these people are struggling to get a meal then why are they off buying pricy illegal drugs? I would think that if people are living on the edge like that that they would be better at using the saved money to buy food or put forth to help them get through their technical or college classes. Books cost money.

Ive been to stores and seen tons of clothes laying scattered everywhere or back in the section. Workers are lazy and won't fold clothes until the end of the shift or until someone says something. And folding clothes is usually busy work, what they say in fast food is if you have time to lean then you have time to clean; meaning, when its slow then they should fold clothes. Though the problem is is why would they be working at this low energy job to support a family? Or worst, why would one even choose this job to make a mere $7.50 an hour. Worst, can you believe people want to make a simple job like this a $15 an hour job? That seems like over paying for something simple and easy. I fold clothes after washing and drying my clothes and it is an easy task that I do without even putting brain power into it.
Addiction, maybe? Again, you haven't experienced life so you won't understand what that's like.

Have you really? I doubt it. How many workers were busy? Were they walking around trying to clean things, or are you claiming they weren't doing anything just because they weren't in your area foldin clothes? I'm not sure if I can trust what you say as you're a republican, and republicans have no problem lying. Almost every store I've gone to, I've seen workers fold clothes or clean up the store or do some other work, I never saw them be lazy.

1. Because they can't find a better job because companies won't hire them.
2. Because they were unable to afford college or university, thus they're stuck in that job.
3. Because that's the opportunity available to them as they may not be able to afford a better job (relocation costs and all that).
4. Why not go up to these workers and ask instead of making assumptions based on little to no facts?

It's not overpaying when these people have to deal with customers, who tend to be shitheads. How many clothes do you fold? Do you have to take care of over 100 clothes, constantly walk around the house and make sure clothes are folded and the place is clean? Again, dumb comparison because department store employees have more responsibilities.

What do you even do anyway that makes you feel so superior over people that do hard work? Sitting at your desk and writing or typing is a lot easier than folding clothes, making food, and bringing food to people.

I've also been to many restaurants with waiters and it also isn't a very high energy high brain powered job. Consider how there are many bad servers who barely check on their guests or go off in the back to fool around with coworkers and browse the internet on their iphones. These jobs are good enough for college students who don't want to take out loans, but beyond that, I would hope that no one is trying to raise a family or make it their career to take food orders, fold napkins, and fill drinks. And also no waiter is carrying that many hot and heavy plates, maybe they will carry at most four trays an hour. Easy.
It is a high energy labor job. Why don't you try being a waiter? Try balancing multiple plates on your arms and bring them to the patrons or to the dishwasher without droppin them. Or can you deal with patrons who are rude? I don't think you've been to a restaurant, or a busy restaurant, if you think waiters don't carry a lot of heavy and hot plates or only do four trays an hour.

And again, you fail to realize that in the real world, it's not easy for people to get a good job. Are you the type of patron who snaps his fingers at waiters, orders them around, and treats them badly? if so, no wonder why you get bad service. I wouldn't be shocked if they spit in your food too for being so disrespectful. If you don't show respect to people, they won't respect you.

Why do refugeees and immigrants come to America? To get and gain the American dream and opportunity. America is a land of opportunity and the country provides enough that anyone can succeed if they just put their hardwork in. Many of the big companies in our country started from people working hard, opening a store, and making great decisions to quickly make their company huge. Where was the walmart family, McDonalds, dave thomas before their companys? Simple, one was an unsuccessful farmer that kept moving, another were immigrants from Ireland whose parents worked in a shoe factory, another adopted by a father who had trouble finding stable work. There were many other entrepreneurs who weren't born into wealth and made great names for themselves. To imply that people are born into poverty and stay there is pretty insane. Any and everybody makes decisions in life. If they make the right decisions they are able to escape where they are. I don't like the viewpoint you adopt as it kind of looks down on the people who are in impoverished situations and saying they are trapped there because of the circumstances and that no matter what they do or the effort they put in in life, they will be trapped there. Suggesting they need and deserve handouts is not the solution they need or even want. Do you want them on handouts and gifts from the government for their entire life while living in run down beat down apartments?
If you actually lived in the real world, you'd know that wealth makes the biggest difference. A poor kid from a ghetto has to work 50x harder to get similar opportunities that an average, rich kid would have. If the poor kid is black, then he has to work 100x harder.

You listed white people who started decades ago. You may not like the facts, but it's there. It seems you understand almost nothing about life.

Ironically, you look down on the impoverished people and people who aren't wealthy or republican. I'm sure many of them need handouts, and they deserve handouts. It's not rocket science. If they get to pay less for housing, food, and other stuff, then that means they have more money. The more money they have, the more likely they can afford to move to a better place or get better education, which can result in better job. Have you even talked to these impoverished people, or are you just assuming stuff based on what YOU want?

You look at things from your extremely flawed and idiotic point of view instead of talking to the actual people and taking their views and thoughts under consideration. it's no wonder why this country is in a bad shape, it's because of people like you.

I said before that in America people go to high school for free and your achievements in high school can quickly results in monetary gifts to go to schools and more. Its not the parents or the countries fault if someone doesn't complete high school. Its the persons fault for making a bad decision. Its the persons fault for making a bad design if after high school they opt not to do any more schooling and are forced to end up in bottom of the barrel jobs. Its is only fair that people in these situations and jobs just end up with little to no government assistance while everyone else receives as many benefits and discounts as possible. We earned it afterall and deserve it.
In other words, "kids who study hard but still fail because of they made a bad life decision despite studying, so they don't deserve help from teachers or tutoring! Straight A kids, some who even cheat, succeed because they were dishonest so they deserve more help from teachers and free tutoring that they don't need! Let's ignore kids who need help and could pass just because they're not successful!"

I hope you don't plan on being a teacher. Last thing we need is kids who need help being ignored while "smart" kids get all the attention.

Successful people don't deserve handouts or benefits that impoverished people get. Are you dumb? Do you realize what handouts and benefits are for? They're not for people who can afford stuff, they're for people who struggle to make ends meet and need help so they have food on the table and roof over their heads. how selfish and ignorant can one get? Jeez. Go live in the real world instead of makin up shit and labeling everyone as lazy just because they aren't working in jobs you think are good.

I think that and him deporting immigrants are getting him criticized by progressives and democrats.

At least Bernie doesn't flip flop as much as Clinton does. A lot of his beliefs have been there for decades, apparently, so it's easier to believe he's for real. Dunno if he has changed his position on anything or catered for votes. Probably on guns?

Well, before I reveal which side I am on in this U.S. Election 2016, I would like to clarify some things. As a conservative, we don't believe that the poor shall perish at the expense of the rich. That is why we still have welfare and social security as every U.S. citizen pays tax. Our fundamental principle is based off of freedom and opportunity which originated from the beginning, ever since the United States Government was created by the Founding Fathers. This is what separates us from the countries in the past and even today. Anyways, with freedom and opportunity comes free enterprise. In general, we believe in free-market so that we can expand our economy; therefore, government regulation should be kept to a minimum. This type of idea has its own flaws though and that is why the United States should stick with its Mixed Economy. Whether you say that Americans are being taxed too high or too little depends but to raise taxes on the rich is violating the philosophy of fairness and equality. What most people fail to understand is that having a consistent tax among all social classes is essentially taking as much money from the rich as the poor. The rich earned their money, so one should not tax them heavily. Essentially, the government is robbing them of their income.

For example, I will use easy numbers so the calculation is simple. Assuming a person made $100 and is taxed 10% of it, they will take the $90. Now someone who earns $1000 and is taxed 10% will pocket $900. If you were to simplify it down to proportions, both lose only 1/10 of their money made. For the sake of discussion, let's say the person making $1000 was taxed an unrealistic number of 50%, they would only make $500 losing 1/2 of their hard-earned money. Sounds unfair, right? Taxing more on the rich would only skew the social class in which if nobody would have to motivation to work as hard because they know their money will disappear. Does this sound familiar? Kind of... It happened in economies with heavily influence from the government.

The government should only has a few jobs. Most of which should deal with politics like laws, international trade, foreign policies/affairs, etc. Of course, there needs to be government involvement in economics but it should be more like limiting and preventing huge corporations from increasing their prices too high in which people living in poverty will not be able to afford it meanwhile inflation erupts. Taxes should be standard.

Overall, you can already tell from my post but these are my political ideologies.
  • Politically - Conservative
  • Economically - Conservative
  • Socially - Conservative
Now, I actually don't believe in Libertarians... They are so lenient with their policies to the point they will provide no order as well as they may run-down the economy which will ensue chaos.

I'll be quick with the presidential candidates. I actually take neither side. Both candidates on each side this year are not truly conservatives or liberals. Why? Because they are one of the following: too extreme, unrealistic, or not knowledgeable. I wouldn't vote for...

Democrats
  • Hillary Clinton because of her social policies. I prefer not to express my belief about this one in case it becomes too offensive.
  • Bernie Sanders because he is a socialist. Whether you believe me or not, he is far past a liberal. He is an extreme liberal. Most of his claims are that the economy is rigged and although it is not perfect, I believe the government is what is more rigged.
Republicans
  • Donald Trump because even though he has the right ideas, he is executing them wrong. He may put the country in danger with his attitude.
  • Ted Cruz because he also fell into some of Donald Trump's unrealistic plans.
  • Chris Christie because he seems to bash people more than coming up with helpful ideas.
  • Marco Rubio because he seems to memorize his speeches so you can't tell whether he really has a strong standpoint on a subject or not.
  • Jeb Bush because he supported Common Core. I am not totally against it but I don't fully agree with it for different reasons because my experience with education these days is that it is corrupted.
  • Ben Carson because he talks more religion than actual policies.

What? Thats like saying any job that deals with people deserves higher pay just for the sake that some people are just not nice. Since there is no job that involves dealing with no people (coworkers can sometimes be some of the meanest people one may have to deal with, or abusive bosses, etc), I will disagree with your statement about them receiving adequate pay for dealing with customers.

Jobs involving brain power deserve more pay than those that don't. Words are powerful and ideas are moving and it takes a lot of energy, focus, and mental and physical fortitude to write, a folded cloth one hour becomes unfolded the next and so on. There is nothing that lasts with a folded cloth. People who are involved in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and civil servants, ultimately deserve higher pay that those in low level retail positions.
Are you the type of patron who snaps his fingers at waiters, orders them around, and treats them badly? if so, no wonder why you get bad service. I wouldn't be shocked if they spit in your food too for being so disrespectful. If you don't show respect to people, they won't respect you.
I can assure you that I am polite and respectful to workers in retail as it is a service I'm paying for.
Ironically, you look down on the impoverished people and people who aren't wealthy or republican. I'm sure many of them need handouts, and they deserve handouts
I don't think I look down on impoverished people. I donate to charities to support the impoverished and volunteer occasionally to help them, as its our duty as an American to help those that need help.

However I do disagree to the handouts they need specifically the amount and how its unfairly used for them and not for everyone else.
Whats wrong with that? If you make a bad life decision than one has to take the consequences brought with it.

Meanwhile if one is making a straight A then its only logical that they would get to be placed into higher level courses and have more access to resources created specifically for helping these high thinking high achieving people continue to remain high achieving and high thinking? Shouldnt people who have great achievements be rewarded for it while those are just getting by or performing not well get no benefits? This is why I have consistently stated that in todays context and the world proposed by the democratic candidates that people who are successful are not being rewarded while those who are not successful are getting everything handed to them on a silver platter. People who put in the hard work to get to where they were deserve things to help keep them there, to help them prosper and proliferate.

Kids who could not pass get help. They have access to tutors, they have access to remedial lessons, and they have access to community programs which can help enable them to succeed.

how selfish and ignorant can one get?
I'm not selfish. I would just like to see people being rewarded and given more for their success and hardwork and achievement.

Practically yes... Unless I'm trying to vote for the more corrupted president of the two. I hope the people shall choose wisely this time and not repeat the same mistakes of the past. The presidents that really impacted this nation is long gone. Now, I would rely on mere survival.

Well, still voting means you have a say in what happens. Refusing to vote for anyone isn't really a statement on anything...

I mean I guess if you see it that way, then so be it. In my eyes, refusing to vote is definitely a solid statement. It is a way of telling the authorities and officials that we need a change in government, or better candidates in a sense. You're right that it won't change anything about the nation though. But either way, if the people refuse decide, there will always and still be a president regardless. Somehow, Washington D.C. will figure it out.

Vote to prevent a republican from getting into power. They'll destroy the country, if anything they say is true about what they're gonna do.

Apparently, republicans are also demanding that the new Supreme Court justice get appointed by the next president, and that if Obama even tries, they will fight tooth and nail. And democrats are saying republicans are being unconstitutional for pretending to uphold the Constitution. Given Obama being progressive enough, I'd rather he choose the new Supreme Court justice over any potential candidate. Besides, I'm pretty sure the republicans will go back on their words and fight against the appointment if a democrat comes into power. At the least, current republican candidates have proved they can't be trusted.

Last nights south carolina republican debatenwas pretty interesting. Personality wise, I think only Rubio and Kasich have what it takes to be president. Cruz got caught lying and couldnt address his own statements when Rubio or Trump brought it up. Carson seems out there and everytime he spoke, I was like bored and saying he has no chance. Also his economic policy he referenced as being praised was actually criticized by the media for hurting the poor. The poor dont neede HIGHER taxes or certain certain credits and deductions removed.Trump is decent, but feels like a democrat at times. Id fear that if he made it and it was him vs Hilary Rodham Obama...id be forced to vote for her. She at least has foreign policy experience.

Rubio was by far the winner promising eveything we need in a new American century. He was also respectful, refined, well spoken, and all about the issues.

Hope Saturday gives him the wins.

Also loved Trump mention Cruzs robo calls of lies.

I didn't watch the debate last night but from what I can tell it kinda sounds like trump was a voice of reason.... and he was booed for it? Well, it is not a surprised that he was booed for that. Other candidates have taken fire for such a thing in the past. But him being a voice of reason is actually unusual. I didn't think he would take such a hit for pointing out the extent to which iraq was a mistake and the supposed WMD being a blatant lie.

Youre a Trump supporter?

Criticizing President Bush in South Carolina as well as the military wasn't a smart move for him.

I obviously don't support him but bush having blatantly lied about WMDs in iraq, iraq being a disaster that destabilized the middle east and planned parenthood doing things other than abortions which are positive are facts regardless of who says them.

A statement to who, really? I mean, even if you convinced everyone you know to abstain from voting, it isn't going to prevent anyone from being elected. Not voting due to extenuating circumstances or pure apathy is a better excuse to not vote IMO.

Yeah, always weird that people who seem to espouse constitutional traditionalism want to block the president from doing anything, despite him trying to fulfill his duty as the head of state.

He was booed because the crowd was very pro-Bush. I was actually surprised the crowd was allowed to be as loud as they were, or maybe past debates didn't pick up crowd size as well, idk. They were being obnoxious even when people were speaking.
