Well, considering how Saudi Arabia has decent history of Wahabism, it would make a ton of sense to include them on the list. But I guess it's either because he has business in Saudi Arabia (or potential influence by Saudi, given that Trump was bailed out twice by a Saudi), or he doesn't want to damage even further relationship with them (which is extremely doubtful), or they're a good partner for Oil.
It's not Trump himself, US policy has been this way for decades. It's likely why the full 9/11 commission report was just now released last year. Supposedly the Saudis are the largest foreign private land owners in the country, etc. This is a whole other discussion that ventures into conspiracy theory territory really.
Hopefully, this ban doesn't last longer than 3 months (6 at the most). Still don't know what could happen in the coming months, which can put us at an edge (but like I said: as long as the list remains unchanged, I think we're fine).
America is already safe from the Muslim refugees. Literally, NO ONE has been able to give me proof or evidence that we are in any danger from the refugees in the US. All they can do is bring up Europe. Four Christians, white Christians, have killed far more people than all of the Syrian refugees combined.
And if Trump really cared about protecting US, he would also ban the countries where most danger comes from instead of ignoring them because of his business ties.

The best offense is a good defense, so stopping them before even coming is the best strategy for national security. There's no way we can be harmed when they arent present within our borders.
The better proof or evidence would be proof or evidence that allowing people from nations harboring antiAmerican terrorists is a good idea.
Hard working Americans lose jobs and benefits once these people are allowed in and steal what is rightfully ours.
Still though, despite Federal Judge blocking the policy on immigration ban, I doubt this will be over anytime soon. It's a first step tho (and a crushing defeat over the Moron). Guess you can't spell Donald without the "L" after all.

It was a preventative measure, not a reaction to anything that has happened in the US already. Bringing up Europe doesn't mean it couldn't happen here.

This is not a good defense at all, it's a shitty defense and causes the terrorist groups to recruit more people that actually hate the US. We can be harmed in so many ways.
No, it's up to you guys to provide proof that taking in refugees is dangerous or puts America at risk. There's proof that it does not, and that they're among the safest group. No Syrian refugee has ever killed an American, whereas four white Christian males have killed 200 Americans or so. If you really care about the nation's security, then you'd be arguing for stricter gun control laws or monitoring Christians, who have created KKK and Nazis that still exist to this day.
Proof of this? If these "hardworking" Americans lose their jobs and everything, then they weren't working hard enough if an immigrant replaced them. And again, blame the companies, not the immigrants or refugees. and while you do that, get out of your bubble.

What business ties are we talking about here?

It was a temporary stay on the ban, so it's definitely not over.
It's not a preventive measure, it's a stupidass measure to keep Trump supporters happy. There's no way Trump did this to prevent terrorism when he didn't ban Muslim refugees from the countries that actually went after Americans. It's a reaction to the popular opinions in the US as well as wanting to look like he backs up his shit. So far, even after months, if not years, of taking in refugees, we haven't seen any attacks from them, not from Syrian refugees anyway. Our vetting process is actually stringent and so good, unlike European nations'. We're extremely safe from the refugees and if reports are true, from Muslim immigrants in general. As you probably remember, I did voice that many nations in Europe should ban immigration or refugees from Muslim countries until they sorted out their vetting process.
Far be it from me to defend the president, but since when has it been any administration's policy to impose sanctions on Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Turkey, or Indonesia? The countries included in the ban were almost directly lifted from existing congressional policy.
The issue is that because he never divested himself from his business interests, this looks like classic pay-to-play on his part. While I don't think anyone can reasonably deny that, the countries mentioned in the ban aren't a revelation. That's why I said earlier that this reeks of being a publicity stunt and nothing else.
As for California, we're too interconnected to leave the Union. But selfishly, I wouldn't mind living in a country where the Republican party basically has no voice anymore.

What part of it would be unconstitutional? The only ??? ground I can see is about the people who were in transit when it went into effect, but is simply not allowing people from [insert country] into the country...actually unconstitutional? Its not like every single refugee that applies gets accepted into america, and last I checked I dont think there is a 100% acceptance rate for people just wanting to come here for other reasons to live.
How are those two things mutually exclusive? I wasn't arguing the merits or the efficacy of the ban, I was merely saying what it is.

Clearly if Trump cared about our safety, he'd be trying to do something about those countries where more American lives were lost, than the countries that haven't killed Americans. As you said, most likely a publicity stunt. Would be weird if Trump expected the ban to stick, but I guess he thought he'd be getting a more sympathetic judge?
It doesn't matter, everyone's being persecuted, including Christians and Muslims. That is, as long as they are factionless (being neither with ISIS or with Assad) and stuck in the middle of the bloody conflict.
