The last I checked the schools are not destroyed or in risk of being destroyed. In fact high school graduation rates and college admissions are going strong. The education system is, in its current form, doing its job.

Compared to what? the rest of the developed nations in the world are easily running circles around the US education wise.

ANd yes, universities are underfunded. Your average universities are shit. That is just reality. There might be some that are able to abuse their students to get money and still do not offer them sufficient education, but in any case, you are not in a good position here.

This doesn't make sense, many of the business leaders of america, scientists, educators, innovators, financial sector elites, artists, musicians, and doctors and physicians were trained in american schools and are doing quite well. To say our system is bad and undeserving is the farthest thing from the truth.

The fact that your schools already require money (or you have to go to a shitschool in a bad district or a horrible university) is one of the problems betsy is going to make worse.

If you were really concerned about the safety of Americans, you would push for stricter gun control laws and make it hard or impossible for dubious people to get guns. Economy cannot grow if people get shot and have to pay medical or funeral bills.

Maybe I'm a bit shy to attribute some sort of Machiavellian genius to this administration honestly. Not sure what to make of it, but I find it incredibly clumsy and embarrassing. Trump likes to jerk himself off as an ally to the military, yet this EO completely undermines the military and intelligence apparatus of the country. It fucks over our own businesses and universities. Washington's own Attorney General has said himself that he isn't interested in any sort of compromise with the Justice Department over the EO, such as limiting it to people who've never actually been here before. So it's going to go to the Supreme Court, regardless of how the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals rules. The Judge was a W appointee, so the White House blaming this on judicial activism is pure propaganda as well. I really think the braintrust there is really just that stupid. They're asking for a world of hurt if they don't somehow back down from this. Unless he's going to attack the Supreme Court as well?

To be honest the only one I really thought they were going to reject was Devos. Democrats made a good point as to why they don't reject everyone: Expectations to get someone better are not reasonable. Which I agree with to be honest. Which is not to say any of those are not a disaster but rejecting them overall accomplishes little. Devos in turn basically admitted she was there because she donated money to trump and her plan seems to be to divert public funding towards private schools. With this, the US is the only developed nation ever to not be actively trying to improve it's public education.

On the upside, it seems like Warren is getting increasingly popular among democrats and liberals. Progressives at the US might get their wish of her as president. However the cost of that will be at least 4 years of trump.... Which is pretty damn expensive.
