I was thinking of moderate republicans and all, and progressives like Teddy Roosevelt.

In any case, left of center is more diverse because you have liberals and left wingers (further left of liberals), and I see them disagree more than I see any right winger disagree.

the problem with some on the left is they are impractical about economic policies, just like some right wingers are ignorant about social policies. closer to the center is where most people can get things done practically.

The problem there is... where is the center? If its the US then center would be... basically where biden is? Maybe somewhat to the right of where biden is politically? The "center" in the US still believes that massive corporations should get all the tax cuts, no universal health care and is generally weak on welfare and social services. Heck, as far as I know paid leave for parents isn't that mainstream a position within any party, though democrats support it more. The US doesn't have a center, let alone even a left wing...

I think Biden is left of center in economic policies. He has supported increased taxation, increased debt ceiling, regulation in the housing market, and was also considered as anti business historically. He's more left than Hillary would be with probably the auto bail-out one of the few things i can recollect where he supported something that would be considered conservative or republican steps.

Center is a hard line to define universally. Centrism is a thing though, where people take the 'meet you half way' approach to all policies but i dont see anyone in the US who would fit there. For a polarized and diverse nation, the total average of different positions would mark moderate policies, center can only be for certain positions.

Impractical in the given framework of the status quo. But the status quo isn't really serving many people all that well, so I can't blame them for not wanting compromise.

What makes you think we care about a Trump's perspective? Especially when her father-in-law basically admitted he ordered the National Guard to shoot looters? ESPECIALLY when the right are supremely ignorant and know almost nothing about the issue or understand it?

To be fair, the guy with the vest is very obviously a cop. That said, it is very concerning that even in the middle of all of this the police are still on about infiltrating protests and arresting people... Instead of evidencing any degree of remorse over what happened to that guy they killed... The police are practically goading protesters.

To be fair, this is in NYC, while the incident happened in Minneapolis. That being said though, these kinds of tactics aren't anything new.

They'll never have any remorse for killing Black people, and that's the problem. Even Black cops aren't immune to this show of power and racism, which is something that I tend to forget. They care more about sparing violent white people than they do peaceful Black people.

It is kind of ironic to hear Trump and his supporters bringing up "peaceful protests" being acceptable, but meanwhile these same people were frothing at the mouth over people kneeling during the National Anthem as a method of that exact thing.

It's never been about how people protest it's about who is doing it and why they're doing it. Don't buy into their bullshit.

I always interpret messages like that as, "only white people are allowed to riot! "
Especially when no one said anything or was in an uproar whenever white people rioted for reasons related to sports.

Going through the protesters' tweets, I think it's safe to assume that protests turn into riots only because of the cops getting violent. NJ cops in Newark joined the protesters, and things remained peaceful. NYPD however is horrible, willing to run over people and throw women to the ground. This should prove how most cops are horrible and violent.

Love that white people are joining Black protesters and helping them though. It shows that it's not white/cops vs. Black, but corruption, bad cops, and horrible justice system vs. people.

I feel like the same thing, even just looking at videos, people only get defensive when the policejust launch tear gas, bean bags, and rubber bullets, then some are just shoving people who are already heading away and everything. Heavy handed enforcement of curfew...why? Then they put like 5 cops on one dude already on the ground hitting them with batons....excessive.

Also dont know who those crazy non-poc are that are just running people over with vehicles...like...why
