Biden's not doing a good job with financially helping people, from reducing the stimulus to limiting it to who gets it. And the $300 is half of what Repubs gave us last year. Oh and can't forget that more immigrant kids are detained than under Trump.
It's been 3 months :l

He could be doing things better, sure. But you gotta remember he only has so much power, and there has to be compromise to get the enemy to agree with things. Not making excuses... just saying. And the immigrant children have to go somewhere until they can be safely released. I hate it too, but it saves money to just keep them in Trump's facilities for the time being.

What? pretend what never happened? Supporting Biden or Biden being President? You can support a candidate and disagree with some opinions. And no matter what, i am sure anyone who speaks against Biden who supported him in the past will still hold the belief is miles better than Trump.....
Gotta remind everyone: the reason most of us voted for Biden is because he's not Trump, and having a Dem president makes it easier to get progressive policies passed. He's just a figurehead. Insults about his cognitive decline, his failure to go "Full-Woke"... none of that matters to us. What matters is he's a stop-gap that prevents more conservative policies until we can get a president we really can get behind.

So don't feel the need to respond to people trying to shame us for voting for him. Remember, they voted Trump. Shame is there's alone.

Why does he have to compromise when Dems control both?

tbh kids should at the very least be put in motels, if not hotels.

Because Senate Republicans can filibuster and it takes 60 votes to break it

That and Biden and other old-guard Democrats are obsessed with getting rolled over by conservatives to piss off their base and losing midterms because of it.

makes sense for families, maybe, but then the unaccompanied minors, depending on age, can't really have some of them in rooms unaccompanied, also theres probably staffing issues (like the medical checks, food, i guess they get some sort of educational enrichment).

I don't think there is a solution, its just a lot of people coming so fast

I guess they could do tent cities

That's always the case though. People vote for their vested interests or the person likely to do least amount of damage. And in this electoral system, it translates to either one of them.

I am not trying to shame anyone, just trying to point out that some of us, dont have political loyalties. At the moment, Democrats will have my vote cos i only see them taking up issues like the environment, pro-choice and possibly with the latest statement by Biden on outlawing heavy firearms to name a few.
We can all agree with the good or bad someone has done without defending them like a family member..

and that is why covid cases have gotten worse, and why we're in such a bad shape. Sweet jesus
Not in the San Diego county. The cases have more correlation to travel than dining. I think he could've opened up stuff and enforced masks and seen better results, removing the mask mandate was completely dumb.

I mean, if we can spend billions of dollars on Israel and Pentagon, then we can spend money to put these kids in better places, though I guess I didn't think about staffing issues. But Biden's also been deporting tons of people, from what I've read.

I'll take your word for it and agree. The issue stems more from people not wearing masks or wearign it improperly, and if that was reinforced better then things could have been better.

Corporations and rich individuals should pay their fair share in taxes and I'd like to see some legislation achieve that effect, however, the reality of the situation is that corporations will operate where they see the dollar amounts they like. Hiking up the tax laws on rich individuals is one matter and I'd say fairly reasonable to do in America and many other places around the world, however, hiking up the taxes that a corporation has to pay will push those businesses, big employers of the general public, out of the country.

Biden has executive action to push gun bans on the table.

This could be a spark that eventually ignites civil war.

Many police have outright refused to enforce these gun bans.

Could get messy.

They opened in June and remained till the cases spiked in mid-november. Thats the holiday season and the covid-statistics shows the spikes after november.

In the bay-area where i live, cases were a little worse even with dining restrictions. i think masks should be a must, and in addition to that, scanning temperatures can also happen.

I think the spark that ignites the civil war would be the hate crimes against asian americans. This could extend further to other races too. And Biden is calling for a ban on assault rifles only. If civil war is a possibility, there's more reason to ban assault rifles.

By the way, gun sales is on the rise among the asian community.

Some blame china for releasing the virus that is costing people jobs and killing our standard of living. This leads to negative sentiment against asians and anyone who may be chinese.

Shouldn't the media address the idea china is responsible for the pandemic and lockdowns.

Rather than oversimplifying everything as racism.

Oh they've addressed it, just not in the way some people would like. Anything short of some anti-West malevolence as an explanation just isn't satisfactory.

What relevance does this even have though? Even if the CCP developed the virus through gain-of-function research and released it intentionally on their own people with the blind hope that it would spread globally and cripple their adversaries even though Wuhan locked down incredibly harshly with the express purpose of containing the spread... what does that have to do with hate crimes against Asian Americans?

...oh wait, racism

The best info I've seen on the pandemics origins was published in a documentary authored by the epoch times around 1 year ago.

Dig it up and watch it if you like. By far the best info out there IMO.

After the 9/11 WTC bombings, I remember hearing about muslims being attacked on american streets by ppl wanting revenge. Some hated those of middle eastern descent in the country for years afterward. The media calls it racism. But I think there could be a better term for it. Even if I don't know what it is.

I think most tend to have a positive opinion of asians. Is there even such a thing as a racist group against asian people?

Speaking of asians, perhaps we can see the future of american gun manufacturing in remote jungle locations like they do in the philippines:

I agree, masks should be necessary, and anyone without a mask should not be allowed in spaces.

Temperatures though I'm not sure how helpful it is.

Those "some" are idiots.

It's mainly the faults of the West, from Trump and Boris Johnson to the citizens who refused to wear masks, isolate themselves, or socially distance themselves. Racists just want to blame anyone else but themselves, even when they're traveling for holidays or rioting against masks and lockdowns. Saying China is responsible is very false, but they do need to be answerable with how they dealt with the virus.

What is this aversion to calling it what it is though? If you commit a violent crime against someone because they look Muslim or Asian then what else does it need to be called? There's often more nuance to bigotry or racism than just hating something, but calling something racist is not "oversimplifying" it.
