I come here to say: water is wet.

Did you say Trump was not "mentally stable" enough to have nuclear launch codes?

Your demographic is 100% silent on our current President's mental stability.

So it appears that truth and facts are not a priority for your demographic.

...

What do you anticipate the natural public reaction to that will be?
That's not really a statement that's open to debate is it? It's too bad that most of the things you say aren't anything like that.

Idk if I used those words or not. But my sentiment would probably be in the same ballpark. It might not even be about mental stability though, more like him being just being fundamentally deficient. I'm not like some libs acting like he's the antichrist though, he's pretty much what Republicans have been in recent history, he's just louder.

"Truth and facts" based mostly in speculation. I think anyone with eyes can see Biden fumbling his words. But to me it can't be much worse than Reagan who literally had dementia while in office.

For the third time: what is his demographic?

EDIT: To be clear, I keep asking because there are different brands of lefty, and not all of us agree on the same things. Is he a socialist? Is he a SocDem like me? Is he a DemSoc? Tankie? Communist? Nazbol? Liberal? Left-leaning centrist?

What demographic is he?
It's far more enriching to me personally to have people like Sanity Check flail around aimlessly and insist that I'm a "CNN Socialist". That assertion on it's own proves his general lack of insight.

I dislike the bit about the judges tbh. Not that I dislike biden specifically appointing judges but rather that the appointment of judges keeps getting more and more political even though the appointment of such positions should be as apolitical as possible. Judge appointments have become a clownshow basically. And the worst of it is that judge's political leaning have an actual effect that is very noticeable. Even at the supreme court level you can pretty much predict how justices are voting based on their political ideology. Biden hasn't handled this in quite the same way as trump or McConnel but hasn't exactly done much to push this in a healthy direction. Unfortunately fixing this would be more about a commitment all parties involved have to basic democratic principles over conservative/progressive politics...
You can't really divorce someone's political leanings from the kind of legal opinions they give. They're definitely linked.

Sure... I was just giving him an opportunity to concede that not all people on the left think the same, and it's bad faith to generalize an entire group.

I didn't think he would, but it was important for me to show to anyone watching that I tried.

I agree, but the situation in the US seems far too extreme in this regard. Too extreme to be sustainable at least... In ruling in cases and applying sentences you can pretty much guess how it will go based on their political believes alone. Nowadays its not strange to think that judges of the other end of the spectrum can give pretty much opposite rulings or opinions based on the same facts... And even if this was always the case it used to be the case that at least democratic principles were a common ground for right and left wing folk. Nowadays that seems less and less likely.

It is not possible to be apolitical, judges are usually political. That's why Dems try to put in progressive judges/liberal judges while Reps try their best to block that and put in conservative judges, because either side hopes the court will support what they want. It's why Reps happily supported Kavanaugh despite the fact that he was accused of sexual assault, and why McConnell blocked Merrick's appointment.

I agree in that it is impossible to be personally entirely apolitical (or even just objective in general). But we are at a point where you have judges look at the same facts and can come to pretty much opposite conclusions. Even if judges can't be entirely apolitical they absolutely shouldn't be basically working for political parties.

hasn't that been a case for a long time? THough I do remember some conservative judges (like Kavanaugh?) going against their political beliefs? I forgot, but I think they ruled in a favor of something that was actually good? But in general, politics seems to be full-grown adults bickering like children. Judges seem to be no different, mostly.

Sure, this isn't something that started yesterday. Nor is it limited to the supreme court... Getting rid of the super majority in the election of supreme court justices feels like more and more of a turning point. Not sure of which specific bit you mean around kavanaugh though.

I don't remember as it was a while ago, but the conservative judges ruled against or for something that went against the conservative beliefs, so yeah. But otherwise, yeah, we're fucked either way.

That's always been the case with the court IMO. Hence the "tradition" of nominating Justices in order to maintain some sort of balance. It's why talks of packing the court have been brought up due to Trump replacing Scalia with a conservative, which makes sense in the context of "tradition", but also Ginsberg (liberal) and Kennedy (moderate) with conservatives.

There are good practices to follow to reduce each individual's impact, but remember something like 70% of all emissions coming from just 100 companies.

Did we just get another right wing member who prefers to share silly and inaccurate memes over posting facts? :(

ME? nope. independent. meme wasn't meant to be 100% accurate also. I was portraying the fact that Brandon does not really care. You gotta say certain things to get the votes. Almost every president does it im pretty sure, even trump ofcourse.

Why does it matter whether he cares or not though?

The topic is either existential or it isn't, and people in power are either doing things to address it, or they're not. Whatever any politician does personally pales in comparison the fuel used to put fresh food in the grocery store.

Oh no, someone should tell people this, especially the right

Most politicians don't care. Some try, but not hard enough to carry out their promises, like Trump, but his popularity is also based on bigotry and lies.

Why does it matter whether he cares or not though?
Because then he can do things that will encourage others to do the same since many look up to the president as a role model. For example, sometimes when I see Brandon eating ice cream, i want to eat it too. He has power through charisma and inspiration. The more he cares about fighting climate change, then the more he would be willing to do to fight against climate change.

Are we going to pretend the chief executive of the country and de facto leader of the party in control (albeit marginal) cannot exert ANY influence on energy policy at all? I mean his terrible foreign policy may pull us into a world war, but downward pressure on emissions is a bridge too far?

Canada claims to be able to deliver gas enough to replace Russia - IF ze pipeline is completed and viable. Is this a fair trade considering the pros and cons of finishing the pipe to be able to divest from Russian gas? (he asks rhetorically)

Welp, who knows whose propaganda is correct regarding the war but some effects already seem plenty visible. Gas price hikes are already felt and odds are the sanctions against russia will only drive them further upward. Price hikes in wheat and its derivatives are already plenty evident as well.
