Ok, I am really trying to ignore all this musk stuff but this one made me laugh:

Musk really thinks he was left of center? As in, what does he think left of center is? What left of center policy has he ever supported? Can you claim you are left of center simply because you support some social issues that progressive and libertarians share? The guy is hilarious.

Elon is full of shit, and that tweet proves it. Also proves how the left are often scrutinized the most, just because they don't like bigotry, while the right are allowed to get away with almost anything.

No matter where, any commie is worried about how its agenda looks like... and work very hard to put it afar from any resemblance of nazism. All that futile work eclipsed because any commie agenda is desperately working to usurp the means of power through their army of thought. So desperately that they can't avoid the use of militar vocabulary... like a nail for a finger... the finger being fascism.

Removing most nuance from the question and insisting on a political dichotomy based on arbitrary political aspects, I would say not really. Aside from the existence of state-owned enterprises, there's nothing especially left-wing about China, much less communist.

People do business with China because it benefits them, not because they're interested in furthering China's interests. This is how a global economy functions. Doing business with China is a consequence of profit motive, it has nothing to do with broader ideological underpinnings. So calling Musk or any other corporations Leftist because they're linked to China in some way is indeed pretty silly.

I know, quite the shocking thing to see in a political discussion thread. But yeah, it's called an informed opinion, unlike calling Musk or any other billionaire a leftist.

What do you have to go off of besides authoritarianism or that they like the word Communist? Embracing capitalism as a means to maintain prosperity and power through one-party rule isn't Communism.

On the legal angle roe v wade never made sense to me. As in, people have a right to abortions because of privacy? I've read the thing and explanations of the thing a number of times and it seems like nonsense to me. Why not have actual abortion legislation? Regardless of that, overturning 50 years of precedent on one of the most politically charged issues in the US... let alone it being an issue which pushed most of the right wing to straight up lunacy (they still believe most democrat politicians rape/eat children) and also gets the more.... interesting characters in the left wing riled up doesn't bode well.
