Biden's IRA package is really a huge step forward for climate, I am glad that he was able to pass it. Legislatively, Biden is a pretty successful president.
It is obviously not the package that the people fighting for it wanted, not even close. Leave alone close to the "green new deal".
But slashing 40% of emissions until 2030 is no joke either.
The fossil fuel industry was able to get in all kinds of loopholes via manchin, but by and large, this is a win for clean energy and a significant one at that.

Well, I dont think they would do this if they hadnt enough evidence. If they manage to get a trial going with very damning evidence against trump and republicans while also the abortion ban is pretty fresh in the minds of many voters, i can see it affecting the election.

Right now, democrat chances of keeping the house are really dire, but with the IRA win, the killed al qaida chief and with a possible public impact move against trump, that might change. We will see of course, but the timing seems too perfect to be coincidence.

It is not about Trump going to jail (he won't in all probability).

It is about what kind of case democrats can make against trump, with what kind of information, before the midterms. And I think if they can make a very convincing and detailed case about his january six involvement, that can help mobilize their voters in the midterm election.
Whether trump gets convincted for anything after that election is on another note.
