I'm super unnerved by how close this race was though.

I think it was presented as close watching it live, but then looking at the results at the end or even in the morning, its not close at all. (was annoying how it flipped in live voting like every 5-15 minutes at one point of the night). (they should just be, report the metro areas first, let rural places report later).

Walker was just a truly bad candidate, Trump shouldn't be allowed to pick candidates. His judgment is clear questionable.

Her going Independent is kind of a smart move though. This way the DNC can't move to primary her in 2024, and if she does run again as an Independent, they might be hesitant to challenge her as it might lower their chances of holding onto the seat since for now she will still caucus with the Democrats.

So the twitter files continue... And... mostly seem to lack anything of note? Mostly just twitter employees dealing with developing and increasingly complex siutuations... There are a few bits that caught my attention though.

IIRC in the first set the point was made that twitter was in contact with politicians regarding what gets to circulate on the site. Generally my stance on this has been that twitter is a private company that can do whatever it wants within the confines of the law and the first amendment mostly concerns the government censoring private individuals. But politicians influencing this is at least problematic and potentially an actual infringement of first amendment rights. A law that makes the case that public officials cannot participate in such processes would make sense to me.

The second bit so far that has stood out for me is the bit comparing january 6 stuff to what other leaders of country have said or done. Some of them should have clearly been banned from twitter way before. Going by the discussions that have been posted to me it's clear that at least some of this is due to how close to home january 6 stuff hit vs stuff going on which wherethefuckistan or something. The twitter file in question kinda hinges on some twitter employes saying a twit didn't violate policy but in the end this doesn't account for the whole context of what happened that day and what led to it. I forgot the specifics, but someone summarized the "data gathering" as Biden's team asking Twitter to remove nudes of Hunter (circulating nudes without permission is a no-no anyway) and Elon exposing Twitter being biased towards Trump or something rather than Biden. I forgot how or what but yeah. Elon is lying and twisting facts. Or did Elon accidentally expose Twitter being partial towards him?
