Oh, is it? I wouldn't have expected that. I mean, I figured the information was available somewhere, just didn't think that something that seems relatively private would go as far as being a first amendment issue. His actual posture on free speech is absurd regardless.
Depends on how you look at things. Democratic elites are well to the left of Democratic voters on social issues, and well to the right on pocketbook issues. Historically, today's Democratic Party is akin to the 1980s GOP. Reagan, during his presidency, raised taxes 12 times, passed gun control, screwed labor repatedly, and granted amnesty to illegal immigrants. When he was governor of California, he instituted the largest tax increase in the state's history and expanded abortion (though he came to regret that). People who knew Reagan, including his own children, are of the opinion that Reagan would be considered a hardcore leftist by today's political standards. That's how far to the right America's political system has shifted to the right over the past 40 years.
HOw are they well to the left? I haven't seen them really be to the left compared to most voters, especially given things like screwing labor.
Democratic elites are far more ideologically homogeneous than the party has ever been. The consensus is on how to move the party further to the left. This can put elites at odds with their base. A good chunk of the Democratic base, especially black voters, identify as conservative. While they're more supportive of issues like immigration, for example, compared to the GOP, many still view immigrants as cultural and economic threats and are receptive to the idea of reducing overall levels of immigration.
This is too much of an exaggeration IMO. Just a cursory search returns numbers like 10-15% of Democrat or Democratic-leaning voters identifying as a conservative and about the same number of black Democrat or Democratic-leaning voters identify as conservative.

At a glance, yes. Democrats that identify as conservative only make up a minority. Bear in mind though that many Democrats, especially black voters, feel compelled to vote Democratic because of peer pressure. In private, they're receptive to voting Republican. Bear in mind too that politics is like identifying with your favorite football team. People identify as "liberal" because they identify with the Democratic Party, but they are operationally conservative instead of being operationally liberal.
Not to be overly pedantic or anything, but there's no hard data to back something like this up, as it's mostly anecdotal. Not saying it's flawed or anything, but peer pressure can go both ways. The community in which you exist can be hostile to whatever is less popular. There's plenty of liberal voters in the south and midwest who aren't open about it for the same reasons.

Oh ok, so I am not missing anything here. I figured there could be some sort of loophope as to why someone is even allowed to drop illegal immigrants at the VP's home. There's plenty of instances at the US where crime is basically legal so it's kinda hard to tell when something is legal and when something is just democrats being cartoonishly craven.
My guess is the bus was chartered by Abbott's office, so it's not a matter of the capitol police or the FBI arresting anyone per se, but a matter of subpoenas being sent to him or whoever arranged it.

Subpoenas? This sounds like fairly conventional crime so.. wouldn't actual criminal investigations make more sense? Now that I think about it this has happened before and there have never been investigations as far as I know. Where is abott even getting illegal immigrants from? Is he using public resources for this nonsense?
Well yeah, I was assuming there was a crime that could be prosecuted. Yeah, Desantis did the same thing in Florida. That was even more deranged though because it was on Martha's Vineyard, so they couldn't just put random people on a bus, they had to make them board an airplane.
