It would have been better if Biden bowed out gracefully to enable a primary, I think so. But I also think the people running around blaming him now (pelosi for example) are a bigger reason for the loss than old Joe. Its their analysts that lost it for Clinton, its their analysts that lost it for Harris.
Dunno, I heard analysts were telling Harris not to cozy up to Cheney or republicans, but to focus on liberals, the actual voter base.

is this true, xi0?

In general, it would make a lot of sense to not trust political streamers? Like, if it is your job to "be political" and have hot takes, then you are probably going off the deep end at some point.

Hasan should know that himself with his baby settlers quote. And after looking a little into that destiny guy, I cannot help but repeat my statement that one shouldnt trust political streamers too much.

I don't watch any political streamer, but ninjabot is obsessed with destiny, and from what I've seen, destiny seems to be a dickhead who doesn't understand politics that well. Seems to be an idiot's idea of a smart Dem streamer?

Dunno or care about Hasan either, I just trust him more than destiny.

I find it very, very supsicious that people keep judging Destiny via Hasan's statements, but not from the actual content that I post here made by him. Almost like you don't want to know what his actual stance is on certain subjects, but would rather have justification to dismiss his claims.

It's also very, very convenient that no one ever responds to my "Hasan is a fucking stochastic terrorist/terrorist sympathizer" posts, but keep posting Hasan's tweets uncritically.

You know, I thought you were only posting Hasan' content for a while to try to bait me, and all I'd have to do was ignore it enough and you'd start insulting me lmfao. So thus far, you've accused me of being an Islamaphobe, and now you're calling me an idiot. Super mature of you. I love this shit lmao.

First, I want to thank you for signal-boosting the baby settlers quote. I posted it back while you were away for a while and of course they wouldn't engage with it.

As for why I glaze him so much, Destiny spends entire streams doing research. In fact, that entire, super gigantic Israel/Palestine document I post here to prove I know what I'm talking about? That's Destiny's personal research document he accumulated over weeks of livestreams.

Also, for your sake, so you're not swayed by propaganda, I'll clarify the things in Hasan's tweet:

1: Destiny didn't "work with" Lauren Southern or Nick Fuentes. He debated them and hung out with them. He went to a Trump Rally with Lauren Southern wearing a MAGA hat while Lauren wore a Black Lives Matter shirt.

2: He never called for Rightwing militias to run over protesters. He said that "at this point, the rioting needs to stop. And if that means redneck rightwing militias gunning them down, they have my fucking blessing".

3: I clarified the ethical CP in the response to xi0, but essentially it's him saying that there should be research done to see if ethically acquired CP could prevent PDF files from committing sexual abuse against minors (ethical meaning it was already collected by the FBI and thus doesn't sexually exploit new victims, or otherwise is artificially created like art (lolicon, stuff like that).

4: "Victim blames every SA victim" is incredibly hyperbolic. Usually when there's a SA scandal in the streaming or online sphere he goes over it online to see how it could have been avoided and because he's incredibly edgy when speaking, his advice comes off as victim blamey. For example, a girl tweeted that she is polyamorous and engages in a lot of one-night-stands and has been sexually assaulted, because when about to have sex she didn't feel ready. She mentioned this has happened to her 6 times, so Destiny tweeted that she's a retarded child that shouldn't be having sex ever, let alone casual sex, because she doesn't know how to say "Stop, I don't want this."

Not nice, but not wrong. He also laughed heartily at a girl's suicide attempt... but that's because that suicide attempt was her eating like 7 Benadryl lmfao.

5: This one is 1000% a lie. He's trying to distract from the current assault on Twitch that's being lead by Destiny's best friend Dan, who signal boosted the fact that Twitch is incredibly antisemitic (they blocked Israel from making accounts for an entire year, only fixing it once people in America looked into it) along with the thing that has currently gotten multiple Twitch streamers banned for all of November. I'll go into specifics if you want.

Here's the accumulation of all of Hasan's pro-terrorism propaganda. That way no one will have to just assume I'm being biased.

By the way, Bernie Sanders was going to do a stream with Hasan the Friday before the election, but thanks to the efforts of DGG keeping all these logs and providing them to Bernie's team, the meeting was canceled.

:3

OH! Don't forget Twitch Or Terrorist!

Try to guess whether the quotes were made by a Twitch streamer or an actual terrorist!

All Hasan did was confirm my beliefs that Destiny is a shithead. I've heard of him before Hasan and watched some of content (I think), and he's a hit or miss.

I feel like I did respond, but it's like talking to a wall. You give me the impression that if an innocent person defended himself or herself against a violent cop or a troop, you'd label that person a murdering terrorist.

Because like Destiny, even Hasan has some good points, and because he's not a Zionist, he gets retweeted into my TL. I know one person that criticized him/does not like him because he seems to be misogynoiristic, which is more reason for me to not care for defending him.

You know, I thought you were only posting Hasan' content for a while to try to bait me, and all I'd have to do was ignore it enough and you'd start insulting me lmfao. No, I posted his content because he's either on my For You page or retweeted into my TL by Palestinian supporters, and in regards to Palestine he's usually on the mark. Same with some other political stuff too, just as Destiny is also right on some stuff.

In the end, they're both streamers, and they both suck. I'm also pretty sure you're the last person to point out anyone's maturity.

I feel like that research of his that you claim he did is missing a lot of details, like Qassamites killing two Jews and hurting a third one due to their leader being murdered. I don't know if he changed his views on Palestine since April, but it seems he's a Zionist or at least, supports Israel and is anti-Palestinian. That's enough for me to assume he likely hasn't done proper research or biased in what he addresses.

1: Destiny didn't "work with" Lauren Southern or Nick Fuentes. He debated them and hung out with them. He went to a Trump Rally with Lauren Southern wearing a MAGA hat while Lauren wore a Black Lives Matter shirt.

1. Doesn't matter, he still platformed them and cozied up to them. A lot of people likely heard Southern and Fuentes and felt affirmed by their Nazi beliefs. Not only that, but Fuentes has gotten traction or even more traction.

2. So the end result is, he endorsed killing. And as result, his Twitch got indefinitely suspended, if Wiki is correct. You complain about Hasan defending terrorists, but Destiny basically said he supported right wingers murdering Black protesters who want cops to stop killing Black people and getting away with it. So that makes him look like a racist. I didn't even know this though, but I love how you confirm that he is not a good person.

3. What the fuck is ethically acquired CP? I don't want to google this and get flagged, but this is a fucked up logic. Nothing will stop creeps from sexually abusing or assaulting children, women, or whatnot, apart from jail and isolation. Anyone in any way for this and not for isolation of these people are very suspicious.

4. So he's a victim blamer because he insulted her and did not try to understand her. And insulting her too. Anyone who actually cared about victims would understand that it's not her fault, she was either likely too scared to say no, or she was pressured into going with it even if she said or gave signs that she didn't want to have sex.

5. According to some sources, Twitch banned Israelis and Palestinians from signing up because they didn't want either side sharing graphic videos or violent videos of Oct 7.

Your source is... a Wiki that's likely biased towards Destiny?

Most, if not all, doesn't seem like he is pro-terrorist. According to that link, he doesn't support Taliban, he supports what happened to Dan Crenshaw. Can't blame him after seeing the things Dan has said.

Hamas aren't terrorists, they're defending Palestinians and fighting back against a terrorist state. He even says that Palestinians have the legal ground to violently take back their homes, though I don't agree with him saying babies are fair games, or every single civilians.

I forgot what he talked about with the Houthi collaborator, but I know people were supporting Houthis because of how they were making Zionists miserable and making it harder for them to do evil stuff. Given that Wiki says the Houthis are antisemitic, and that page apparently says Houthis said "curse on the Jews," they can go fuck themselves.

For the most part, Hasan correct based on what we've seen. I'm sure Destiny chose to ignore all that though. Did destiny ever address Biden lying about seeing pictures of decapitated babies and whatever else he claimed? That Israel was exposed as the ones raping men, women, and children? Hasan's views on USA and Israel are likely due to knowing their real histories and how evil the two are.

Him being okay with antisemitism does not sit right with me though. Or saying killing babies and innocent Israelis is justified. IF that destiny wiki isn't lying.

I feel like I did respond, but it's like talking to a wall. You give me the impression that if an innocent person defended himself or herself against a violent cop or a troop, you'd label that person a murdering terrorist.
You claimed Hasan was right in what he says and that Destiny isn't. I posted like 7 quotes Hasan made, and you only responded to ONE while ignoring the others because you knew you couldn't defend them.

Here's his debate outline that he prepared for his 5 hour debate with Norman Finkelstein.

It's even color-coded so it's not a lot of reading to figure out his exact stance on Israel/Palestine, but I'll post the reasoning and you can click on the link to see his works sited to make sure he's not talking out of his ass if you actually care about the proof for his claims:

Primary Claims
  1. Britain over-promised the same land to two people. Jewish people bought tracts of land in Palestine from willing Arab sellers even before British guarantees to a right to settle in Palestine. It's inarguable that the Arabs living within the borders of Mandatory Palestine felt betrayed by the British. The Jewish people, however, were betrayed as well. In the wake of the perceived British betrayal, and in the aftermath of the Holocaust, both sides would have felt justified in fighting the other for control over this land. At some point, however, it must be recognized that Israel emerged from the fighting in this region victorious, and surrounding Arab states were forced to recognize Israel as a legitimate entity.
    1. Why is this important?
      1. Factual Disagreement - It is incorrect to state that incoming Jews were clearly in the wrong, and that they were a colonial project by Great Britain.
      2. Moral Significance: It is important to recognize that the founding of Israel represented promises made to both Jewish citizens and Ottoman Empire subjects because it illustrates the moral fallibility of assigning blame in the early stages of the Mandatory Palestine period to either the Jews or the Arabs. Blame should be more heavily assigned to Great Britain.

2. While Israel might have been initially hungry for extra territory, the Arab states constantly gave Israel an excuse to take territory from them. The 1939 White Paper by British would have guaranteed a Palestinian state in 10 years, but Husseini and the AHC rejected it. In 1947, Israel accepted the UN Partition plan while the Arabs refused and instead invaded in 1948. In 1949 (The Lausanne Conference), Israel agreed to accept 100,000 refugees or annex the Gaza Strip in exchange for peace and recognition of its borders, yet the Arabs refused. In 1956, Egypt's closures of the Straits of Tiran gave Israel legitimate casus belli. In 1967, despite repeated requests from Israel not to attack, Jordan attacked anyway along with Egypt and Syria, losing the West Bank in the process. Israel was willing to return the Golan Heights in 1967 to Syria in exchange for peace. When Israel attempted to reach a final agreement on the Palestinian problem in 2000, and again in 2008, Arafat and Abbas refused.
  1. Why is this important?
    2. Factual Disagreement - It is incorrect to say that Israel was acting territorially greedy against passive states, and that the Arab states around them were not engaged in a healthy amount of provocation on their own.
    3. Moral Significance - It is important to recognize that, especially in 1948, every state in the region was hungry for land, and the push for territorial conquest was not one-sided. It's also important to recognize that, while Israel ultimately succeeded in conquering additional land, there were multiple opportunities for Arabs to push for peace in ways that would have forced Israel to agree. Peace between Israel and the Arab states didn't come until much, much later because everyone in the region assumed that additional fighting would lead to additional territorial gains, but this only proved to be true for Israel.

3. The mythologies, loaded languages and international virtue signaling of both sides severely hamper any ability for either people to make progress in this conflict. The victory of Israel in the 1967 war drove their expectations for territorial acquisition to unrealistic heights, causing them to underestimate their Arab neighbors for a crushing psychological defeat in 1973. Similar myths exist on the Palestinian side, where surrounding Arab neighbors drove their expectations for land to unrealistic height, then the international community through UN Resolutions and international declarations made them believe they would acquire a state within the 1967 borders if they simply held out long enough. Constant claims of "apartheid", "concentration camp conditions" and "genocide" have left the Palestinians believing someone in the international community is going to come along and save them from their predicament.
  1. Why is this important?
    1. Factual Disagreement - The legal status of every single part of this conflict is incredibly hairy, with no clear answers on any side.
    2. Moral Significance - By constantly claiming that Israel is committing apartheid, or genocide, or forcing Palestinians to live in concentration camps, the international community is making it seem as though the conditions the Palestinians live in are so dire that someone externally is going to swoop in and save them. This will not happen, the Palestinians need to unite around a coherent leadership structure so they can negotiate with Israel and save themselves.

That's not what he got indefinitely suspended for, he got indefinitely suspended because of the "trans people in sports" debate, where he said "there's no point in ever talking to these inbred dipshits anymore". This was dubbed transphobic hate speech. When you hear someone say incorrectly that Destiny is transphobic, this is the reason why: because he was attacking the trans Twitch streamers that accused him of being transphobic for not thinking that trans women should compete in professional/paid sporting events, but should be allowed to compete in grade school and small stakes leagues that are about fun and not profit. Basically, any league that allows intergender competition would be fine because they already account for differences in musculature and bone structure.

Twitch corporate kept the reasoning for the ban secret up until last month.

Content the FBI has access to after taking it from arrested pedos. That is to say, content that already exists, or exists in the form of art. And it's meant to see if it's a preventative measure for pedos that have not offended, because you can't turn off sexual compulsion, but you can mitigate it. After all, something like 97% of all child molesters aren't pedophiles but rather, sexual opportunists. That 3% might stay that way if they don't feel a need to act on their paraphelia. These are all just questions though, there's no way to test it, and it shouldn't be tested, which he admits. He was just curious if it would be considered a viable pathway to preventing offenses like these as long as it worked.

4. So he's a victim blamer because he insulted her and did not try to understand her. And insulting her too. Anyone who actually cared about victims would understand that it's not her fault, she was either likely too scared to say no, or she was pressured into going with it even if she said or gave signs that she didn't want to have sex.
He didn't say it's her fault it happened, he said she's retarded for continuously putting herself in situations where it CAN happen, and is too dumb to live the life she lives. Not crazy at all for the average person to think "Maybe I stop bringing strangers home with me after the second or third sexual assault. That or I should learn to say no."

5. According to some sources, Twitch banned Israelis and Palestinians from signing up because they didn't want either side sharing graphic videos or violent videos of Oct 7.
That is the excuse they gave, but that's a lie, because the code used was meant to error out if people in Israel or Palestine tried to sign up, however, Lebanon, Egypt, and Jordan is where all of their infrastucture (servers) for Twitch in Palestine is located so people in Palestine weren't actually effected. It was just to cover their asses and say "See, the code says Palestine is blocked out too". It was blocke dout, but not really, since their servers were elsewhere. No such luck for Israel though.

This was also a silent ban. They didn't mention that to anyone. And they claimed it was an email only ban, but that's not true because Israelies couldn't use their phones to do it either. It was a ban of half the world's Jews from their public platform, simple as.

Your source is... a Wiki that's likely biased towards Destiny?
They have links to the videos of everything Hasan's done so far, so none of it is made up.

Most, if not all, doesn't seem like he is pro-terrorist. According to that link, he doesn't support Taliban, he supports what happened to Dan Crenshaw. Can't blame him after seeing the things Dan has said.
He does support the Taliban. He continuously claims that Crenshaw had his eye fucked out of his skull by a "brave soldier", not a "terrorist". This is what he thinks of members of the Taliban: that they're brave soldiers, not terrorists. This is the guy that says USA deserved 9/11. He also continuously said that soft power is the same as hard power, implying that terrorist attacks on embassies are justifiable because they're the same thing.

Hamas aren't terrorists, they're defending Palestinians and fighting back against a terrorist state. He even says that Palestinians have the legal ground to violently take back their homes, though I don't agree with him saying babies are fair games, or every single civilians.
Yes they are terrorists. Defending Hamas is defending terrorists.

That exact video they show here is a video of Houthis kidnapping filipinos who aren't affiliated with Israel in any manner. 15 of them. And they're still held hostage to this day. It wasn't even a ship headed to Israel. Hasan has yet to be banned for this, despite it being against Twitch ToS.

You've got video proof in your face right now that this is incorrect. And yes, he did address decapitated babies, in the first 3 minutes of this video right here:

Him being okay with antisemitism does not sit right with me though. Or saying killing babies and innocent Israelis is justified. IF that destiny wiki isn't lying.
Don't trust Destiny's claim, and don't trust mine. Watch the damn video evidence.

Research can be misleading. Because very often, it isn't so much that someone openly claims something that is false, but rather orders the facts in a misleading (or suggestive) way that omits crucial details or makes details more important than they are (or downplays crucial details).

In case of destiny, I do not know him well, but in the things you said about him are quite some that I have a huge problem with and that admittedly make me angry.

The most obvious example is the sexual assault one. What destiny did there (again, i researched it a little but i am mostly trusting your words here) is insanely fucked up and shows a severe lack of understanding of these things.

Victims of sexual assault often try to get back into similar situations to grapple with their trauma and reframe it. That is why rape victims, especially when it happened young, often seek out abusive men and rape happens way more often to them than other women. So if a woman has been raped 6 times and still seeks out these encounters, that is absolutely in line with what we know about abuse victims. That is a detail that destiny omits or does not know.

You can read about it here: https://auctoresonline.org/article/abused-children-and-their-relationships-as-adults

Likewise, women who were abused as children, are more likely to commit, or receive intimate partner violence when compared to non-abused women (Clarke et al., 1999; White & Widom, 2003; Ornduff et al., 2001).
And

In addition, conflicts around sexuality were reported by women who were sexually abused in childhood which showed that the level of sexual activity of women with ACE [Abused Childhood Experience] was found to be either less or more than women who were not abused as children. Similar to the findings of Wegman and Stetler (2009), Schutze et al. (2020) found higher prevalence of chronic pain and sleep disorders in association with ACE.
So a promiscuous woman seeking out lots of partners, many of which are abusive, has a pretty good chance of behaving that way because she is a survivor of sexual violence (possibly in her childhood). Making fun of that is like making fun of a African immigrant who freaks out when he hears fireworks on new years. Might not be "rational", but is pretty likely a trauma response one should not make fun of, leave alone in public in front of a giant audience.

If some influential streamer makes insulting offhand remarks about sexual assault victims, that is definitely victim blaming, and vile one at that. That cannot be explained away with "edgy". If some man on a stream regularly goes around to look how SA victims should just have acted more rationally, that just shows they know nothing about SA or do not care at all because they don't have the empathy and want to create polarizing content. And in both cases, they should probably shut the fuck up.

In any way, that is a person that shouldnt be trusted, because at least when it comes to this topic, they do not know the first thing but say incredibly hurtful things that belittle victims of awful crimes.

Careful: you're making the exact same mistake everyone does about this particular situation: You're letting your emotions make up parts of the story that you don't have access to. You just gave this girl an entire origin story that you can't prove to justify her making really, really dumb decisions.

Trusted about what? All of the things posted with video and text evidence you didn't read because you're hung up on something you're wrong about, but emotionally invested enough to use it as a justification to dismiss facts?

You're doing the same shit M3J did with your graph: letting your emotions stop you from acknowledging evidence because it disagrees with the narrative you prefer. I'm incredibly disappointed in you.

And TO BE CLEAR: the sexual assault she endured several times was stealthing. They're about to have sex. The guy takes off the condom. She doesn't want sex without a condom. She doesn't voice her opinion. This happens multiple times. One of the times she said "no", and they just "raped her harder" according to her. There's a viral clip of Destiny laughing hysterically after hearing it, because of the absurdity of continuing to pursue casual sexual encounters after this.

Well Destiny took the assumption there is no explanation for her behavior when he insulted her in front of an audience, did he not? So why can he do that to hurt her, but i shouldnt keep the possiblity of childhood trauma in mind when criticising HIS actions? That doesn't seem to make a lot of sense.

The first thing to know about rape, childhood or not, is that it is a delicate topic full of shame and hurt that leads to many actions that outsiders cannot understand. It is completely normal for rape victims (childhood or not) to seek out retraumatizing events. For example, women who were raped often keep seemingly normal contact with their rapist and children may show an unusual sexual bahvior from a young age. They do that to reframe their trauma in a way that lets them retain control about it. what that woman did their would be completely in line with that kind of behavior. She wants to gain control about her own sexuality by seeking out many sex partners, but unfortunately, she chooses many violent ones that end up retraumatizing her by raping her.

And when a person like that opens up, the first (or last, tbh) reaction should NEVER, NEVER be to mock or insult her for behavior you do not understand. If you do that, it is very clear you know nothing about the topic and you should utterly and truly shut the fuck up. Because you are making the trauma of that person worse. In Destiny's case, you do it for content (so your own financial gain). Aside from his lack of knowledge about rape, that also shows a lack of empathy and wisdom.

It would be fucked up what he did even if it turns out that girl made up everything and was never raped. Because obviously he just assumes that
she had no reason, and unlike me, he tells that to the public and hurts her with these assumptions. My judgement on him has to do with me knowing he knows jackshit about rape victims but still dares to say these things. He is just factually in the wrong here and still uses these things to create content on the back of rape victims. He perpetuates the view that a woman has to be a perfect rape victim to deserve empathy.

I'm not. I am saying his behavior speaks of his lack of factual and ethical judgement and i provide arguments for that. He is objectively in the wrong here and still presents his views so forcefully. And that is why he should not be trusted, meaning, I would never trust ANYTHING he says again. That is my go to with political streamers or posters. If it turns out they were full of shit once and have not appologized for it, i block them completely and never watch a stream or post again. Even if i followed people for decades and they have otherwise said things i found thought provoking or true.

That is kinda the point here, you gotta look for the cracks. If someone turns out to be full of shit when it comes to topics I know enough about to tell it, then it is very likely i got false information from them on 100 topics that i do not know enough about to tell.

I know enough about rape to see how full of shit destiny is. I might not know enough about other topics, so i might unjustly agree with him on these. And since i do not want that, i would never trust him. The risk is too high, because he is obviously skilled at rhetorics.

Well Destiny took the assumption there is no explanation for her behavior when he insulted her in front of an audience, did he not?

No, he didn't. He worked, exclusively, with the information we had on hand (before she started adding context later after debate panels and stuff started happening thanks to Destiny's unhinged tweets). She didn't mention anything about a childhood trauma later.

So why can he do that to hurt her, but i shouldnt keep the possiblity of childhood trauma in mind when criticising HIS actions? That doesn't seem to make a lot of sense.
That didn't happen.

She wants to gain control about her own sexuality by seeking out many sex partners, but unfortunately, she chooses many violent ones that end up retraumatizing her by raping her.
You do understand that that doesn't change the truth about her assaults, correct? WHY she's doing it doesn't make it any better of an idea. This is the point: just because she's in a self fulfilling cycle of self harm over and over again doesn't protect her from criticism. She's creating more rape victims by doing this and telling women online that they have no agency here. She even ends the first tweet with "Men do better." As if there's no self-reflection at all. BECAUSE THERE ISN'T.

After the first one or two times, I can agree. Once it becomes a pattern, my empathy well dries up. It's no different from watching a woman continuously return to an abusive boyfriend. After the third black eye I'm done asking if she's alright, because she just wants JUST enough moral support to let her feel seen and empathized with so that she can return to the abusive relationship for another ass-whooping. I won't be a party to helping a woman continue her victimhood in perpetuity.

Also, you gotta stop saying he's only holding the views he holds for content. His edgy statements have only ever counted against him. He got permabanned from Twitch for calling trans content creators there he debated "inbred dipshits". He missed out on the first episode of Surrounded because of his tweets about not caring about Republicans getting gunned down at Trump rallies. He was blacklisted from Tim Pool's show for the same reason (though the coward was just looking for a reason to never have to defend himself against Destiny again lol).

He's again, making no assumptions: he's working with what information we have/had. You're doing the same thing a lot of the debate panelists did against him when trying to talk him out of what he said: you're making hypotheticals that could alleviate her own mistakes and admonishing him for not having the same level of imagination. That's not his fault: it's HIS responsibility as a public figure to ONLY respond according to the facts at hand, and he DID.

In her defense, I'd never say the things he said, and not just for fear of backlash from other people. It's because I wouldn't want to hurt this dumb girl's feelings. But when it comes to facts I don't CARE ABOUT THE MORALIZING. I care that he's RIGHT. When the fuck did we become a post-fact nation where it's okay to dismiss truth because it hurts our feelings!?

And he's not factually in the wrong because he's giving prescriptions for women to stop being sexually assaulted, while everyone else on the internet just wanted to make her feel better about the fact that she keeps getting assaulted. This creates a neverending chain of:

Go out to have casual sex
Get stealthed
Cry online about it
Have people console you
Repeat

If she took your advice she'd just get raped again. If she took Destiny's, she's less likely to get raped again. Actually, you're not even GIVING advice: you're moralizing about how it's okay for her to just feel bad about herself. Your mentality is making more rape victims too.

EDIT: TO BE CLEAR, I understand that all 3 of you bringing up Destiny's edgy tweets and gamer word usage is intended to distract from the veracity of his true claims, his accomplishments, his knowledge and his rhetoric. That's the only reason I'm still engaging with all of this, because you're all acting like Donald Trump. You're not engaging with the truth, you're focusing on the optics surrounding the truth.

I prepared a very long post for you but decided to keep myself short.

If it is so insanely helpful to insult victims of rape and blame them for their own bahvior, let me ask you: Why do therapists not do that? Why are we actually, for every rape victim, making an effort to create an environment in which they feel safe, let them talk about all their thoughts (even the toxic ones), try to be gentle and patient?

And if the answer is because that is actually helpful and necessary, then why does Destiny, who researches everything so well, go in there, create an environment of mockery and insult in front of an audience and tells women they are the ones at fault for their own rapes?

There must be a ton of evidence that this is really helpful, right? Which would be curious, because I am really firm in that subject and every evidence I know points to never fucking act the way that Destiny did there unless you want to hurt an abused woman (or man) even more.

But elseways why would he go around and humiliate her so much? If it is not for content, surely he must have an altruistic reason beyond his personal amusement? Right?

That's a dishonest framing of my position, and Destiny's position. His claim is not that it's helpful to be insulting and abrasive to sexual assault victims. His claim is that one should not engage in casual sexual encounters if they do not have a strong understanding of boundaries and how to maintain them. He did indeed say it in the most inflammatory way possible, and he shouldn't have. But he is correct. And I guarantee that a therapist would help this woman work on her personal agency in addition to explaining to them all of the things you mentioned in your previous responses.

And if the answer is because that is actually helpful and necessary, then why does Destiny, who researches everything so well, go in there, create an environment of mockery and insult in front of an audience and tells women they are the ones at fault for their own rapes?
That wasn't the plan. He simply offered an opinion on a tweet that someone made online. Healthy twitter etiquette is to not put information online that you don't want someone commenting on. He also did not tell women they are responsible for their rapes. He told them that if they don't have the ability to establish boundaries they should not engage in casual sex (in more colorful language). He has never excused the actions of her assaulter(s). He simply calls for women to not take care to avoid these situations. It wasn't even meant to be "content". He made a tweet, and the twitchpolitics sphere exploded around it and started demanding he explain himself. It became content thanks to people wanting to take him to task for his rhetoric.

There is an altruistic reason for pushing back on her story: he does not want to let her rhetoric go uncorrected because it will cause more rape victims.

He is not correct, because the way you say something is part of it.

If someone is depressed, it would be great if he did some helpful things like walking outside, doing sports, so on. If I shame him for staying inside, i am still not technically correct. I am part of the problem because I just CLAIM to want to give them agency, when all I am doing is to claim narrative highground over his situation.

It became content because he, as a popular streamer, posted it. If he didn't know what he was doing, that just means he is pretty bad at his job. She was just some woman posting about that men should respect boundaries. And she is right about that. He is the big streamer who chose to make it into a big thing without any need. And as i said, if he is not aware that a post from a big streamer is different than some random post on twitter, then he should get out of the public sphere because he is seemingly not understanding it.

There is an altruistic reason for pushing back on her story: he does not want to let her rhetoric go uncorrected because it will cause more rape victims.
Yeah, the best way to stop rape is to tell women to shut the fuck up about it unless they are fitting your personal behavioral criteria (and shaming them for speaking out in a way you dont like accomplishes exactly that). And historically, obviously, it is the men who claim to be rational who know best what women need.

If you ask me what 1 plus 1 is, which one of these answers is correct:

"1 plus 1 is 2."

or

"1 plus 1 is 2 you fuck-mothering motherfucking dumbfuck."

You're confusing "correct" with "nice". You are still correct in telling someone what would help with their depression even if you say it in a mean way. You're just not nice about it. Just say "I don't like that he said it in a mean way" instead of trying to upgrade it to "He's incorrect in his prescriptions."

He did not. He didn't send the tweet live. He did it off stream, on his own time, and people around him chose to make content by starting political panels to talk about sexual assault, where this particular exchange was a very big part of it (Because even though Hasan is the biggest twitchpol streamer, Destiny was the biggest twitchpol debater, and thus was always sought after for his opinon on everything to get big viewer numbers on their livestreams.

And yes he absolutely is aware that his voice holds more weight than the average tweeter. It's just another excuse to dismiss his arguments. "You can't criticize me because you have a big audience. It would be abusive because your followers will drown out my voice with numbers."

Yeah, the best way to stop rape is to tell women to shut the fuck up about it unless they are fitting your personal behavioral criteria.
Another dishonest framing of "boundaries and self-preservation are necessary." Never said she can't voice her feelings. Never told her to shut up. Never justified the actions of the assaulter. Never said she deserved what happens to her. Literally only said that she shouldn't place herself in dangerous situations she isn't prepared for. Literally just that.

What I mean is: If you take the average leftist and imagine him working in a low paying job. Would he be proud of doing so? I think not, because the average leftist is like me, studied and if he worked in a low paying job, he wanted to get out of it and calls it abusive workign conditions now. The idea that a leftist is a proud steelworker who tells everyone around him that they control the steel site, not the bosses, is not true anymore. The leftist sits in university or in office and tells people that steelworkers should be respected, but he would never do that job.
I'm unsure if that has to do with left thought processes though. Of course there's absolutely a scourge of elitism within these kinds of circles, but an actual leftist would advocate for these kinds of jobs to not be "low paying" in the first place. But sure, there is a general lack of class solidarity regardless.

He would. I didnt mean to blame college educated people. I am one myself and i fall intot he same traps myself.

I think the very gist of my point is that we need to learn how to unlearn claiming narrative highground (all people, in general).

In my ideal world, I would say "I am a well off college educated person who never experienced true hardship in their life. I am good at the big picture, because I learned to think through many different concepts with lots of complex details, but I often lack the experience of how the stuff I think is right would affect people or how to even communicate my ideas properly to the people that will have to work with them".
And then a worker would say "I have the insights of how your policy idea would affect people. I know some details you overlooked. Let me go over it and trust me on the things I give you pushback for".

But that is very hard, because it might mean I have to accept things sometimes that make my ideological alarm bells ring.

For example, epole who worked themselves out of poverty are often looking down MORE on the poor than the usual leftist does. So my marxist ideas of nobody being at fault for being unemployed, because laziness is just an accusation of the rich, might be challenged by a worker who tells me that he absolutely knows like 20 guys who just abuse wellfare and beat their wives. And then we get into a heated argument and I tell him to get the fuck out of the room so I and my college educated friends can be a leftists in peace and save the workers from their own ignorance at some point.

This is so incredibly fucking disappointing.
I don't really understand why. I understand the viewpoint that if you're passionate about something/someone you want to clue other people into it. But we've talked about this before and we've talked about a myriad of reasons regarding my feelings towards him, so idk.

It's so god damn disheartening. I don't know what's worse. Failing to use skepticism, or using skepticism selectively. The first one can be excused as a mistake. The second is inherently dishonest. Like, Evangelical Christianity's style of "true for me, but not for thee" type shit. And I don't know specifically, but there's gotta be at least one fallacy here. "Argument from Ick" or something.

Whatever man.
Me not liking him despite giving reasons is dishonest? Not sure how to really respond to that. Do you think my feelings are irrational or something?

"Kill all men" would be one that's a smidge more heinous than "White Lives Matter" because it's actually targeting a group, mentions violence in the name, and isn't indicative of some underlying truth about the world that should be contended with in honest discussion. WLM at least has the same defenses of BLM that "We're not saying only WLM", doesn't call for violence, and is true.
In a vacuum, sure. For me, I think the difference is that "Kill all men" is a sentiment that arises from real things and real injustice. "White lives matter" is a result of white fragility. I'm of course biased but I don't see them as being the same. This is the same kind of discussion as whether anti-white racism is a thing or not. Bigotry can of course be colorblind, but when talking about racism and the actual societal nuances, anti-white racism has nothing even close to the same kind of consequences. So much so that the idea that the reaction to it should be the same is kind of silly to me. But I guess that's another tangent.

And yeah, for WLM I know it's 9 times out of 10 used as a dog whistle. But it only works if you react in the way they want you to. If someone tells you White Lives Matter, and you agree, then if their intention was to signal white supremacy they will have to needle you with more borderline racist rhetoric and THEN you've got them. Now you've got a foundation for your accusations. One stronger than just your feelings at least.
I've already "got" someone when they say that though. I don't need to entrap them to figure out how they really feel. Of course there are some who just say shit without knowing what any of it means but....

Right, it's the same sort of thing that happens when immigrants who came here legally (or even illegally) look down on undocumented workers.

Yeah, I see this kind of shit all of time, especially with people in my parent's generation. There's a weird thing going on where pride in one's work is conflated with severe critiicism of other people's perceived work ethic. Of course there's a component of a "lazy" person making other worker's lives harder but even when that's not the case there seems to be too much emphasis being put into stoically slaving your life away being paid a pittance.
--- Double Post Merged, ---

is this true, xi0?
It's subjective framing, but kinda? I'd make it clear that I don't really give a shit about the feud they've had. I think Destiny and his close associates are generally sociopathic and Hasan is a fragile egomaniac. I think the whole deplatforming angle going on is hypocritical to say the least though. You know where I stand on Gaza and the notion that discussions that involve criticisms of Israel not only as a state but also as a concept being anti-Semitic is complete horseshit.

These two camps don't like eachother, so using any excuse to smear eachother is what is going on. Destiny is an edgelord so I find him to be more reprehensible. I thought that long before I was even aware of who Hasan is though.
--- Double Post Merged, ---

I find it very, very supsicious that people keep judging Destiny via Hasan's statements, but not from the actual content that I post here made by him. Almost like you don't want to know what his actual stance is on certain subjects, but would rather have justification to dismiss his claims.
As someone who is a liberal, it's also possible for someone to have many good stances in the eyes of other libs/leftists and still behave like a massive piece of shit though. It's not mutually exclusive.

I like to think that both views are 80% right and 20% wrong. Leftists dont like tough love. At least i sure dont. People who come from poverty often do. It is a way for them to help others, tellign them to pull themselves up and not give up. Because they needed that and profited from it. And I think that is really good for the most part in moderation. At becomes toxic when it is directed at people without having the full context of their situation. For example when one would tell someone who is depressed to just go out more and then blame him for not accepting help.

But it would also be wrong to say it is always wrong to pressure someone. You can be as left as you want to be, once you are responsible for coordinated workshifts and all the gen z claims to be sick every every Friday, you ARE going to want to have some leverage on them. Justifiedly so, there is a balance.

So I think that people need to listen to each other more and accept each other's pushback, because we all have blindspots and can only get rid of them if we work together. So in my example above, I think if I calmly explain why I think "toughlove" is wrong and unfair in many contexts but also listen to a worker's explanation of things i am just too ideological with, we can find a good consensus that we can both fight for.

But that would mean I sometimes have to just let things stand without instantly denying them, even if they are against my ideological foundation. I try that and I work towards that, but it is not very easy.

If someone says 1+1=2, i ask "Which ring are we talking about?". Because sometimes, it is something else entirely.

I am not confusing correct and nice. You are confusing words with action. This is the school bully logic who claims to just be mean to some timid kid because he wants to "teach him to fight back". It is not the truth, technically or otherwise.
This is incredibly dishonest.

Was his twitter account known or not? If it was, it was content. And if someone with power doesnt act accordingly, he deserves criticism.
This is like claiming Destiny showing up in a restaurant without a camera and, after getting into a screaming match with a group of MAGA Republicans, people started claiming it's content. In your hearts of heart: Do you actually think that you are not, in effect, telling someone to not voice their feelings if you insult them after they do exactly that?
No, I don't think you're telling someone they shouldn't speak. In my heart of hearts. I think potentially, they could be shamed into not speaking because they'll fear the hurt feelings they'll have for speaking in the first place. And that's unfortunate. I think there's more at stake here than her feelings though.

I don't really understand why. I understand the viewpoint that if you're passionate about something/someone you want to clue other people into it. But we've talked about this before and we've talked about a myriad of reasons regarding my feelings towards him, so idk.
Because I want you to care about what's demonstrably right as opposed to optically right.

Me not liking him despite giving reasons is dishonest? Not sure how to really respond to that. Do you think my feelings are irrational or something?
Not "not liking him despite giving reasons." Letting those reasons blind you to the good that he does. is what's disheartening. I gave two examples of what I think you're doing. Either not being skeptical, or being selectively skeptical. If you're admitting you're selectively skeptical then you're admitting you're dishonest. In other words, yes I think your reasoning is irrational, if you are indeed deciding who's correct based on whether you like the person saying what they're saying or not. I think that the amount of good that Destiny does is several orders of magnitude greater than him saying a few gamer words. I think the canvasing, the fighting for progressive policies, the defense of liberal ideas in harsh environments no one else on the Left is willing to step foot in, and dogged attempts at presenting the truth even at great cost to himself is a value that every political commentator should have. I wish you felt the same. I'm sad that you don't.

I don't disagree with any of this. I think these are all things you should tell your white friends when they make their microaggressions or... full-on aggressions. I just think it should be handled with finesse is all, and that that finesse is not coddling. Or even if you think it is, don't TELL them that.

I've already "got" someone when they say that though. I don't need to entrap them to figure out how they really feel. Of course there are some who just say shit without knowing what any of it means but....
That's an assumption I wouldn't be comfortable making without knowing the full context of the conversation. They could just be a fucking idiot. I remember training an employee at my job and we were talking about the newest Call of Duty game, and he mentioned that he hated seeing BLM all over everyone's profiles on the game because it was racist. This motherfucker was dumb, but he wasn't evil. He only shared this information with me because he thought I was hispanic instead of black (a lot of people think I'm hispanic because of my skin tone).

I coulda turned this poor cousin fucker into a white supremacist by turning up on him right then and there, but that's the wrong thing to do.

As someone who is a liberal, it's also possible for someone to have many good stances in the eyes of other libs/leftists and still behave like a massive piece of shit though. It's not mutually exclusive.
Obviously, that's Destiny to a tee. He's the living embodiment of "The worse person you know just made a good point." It's just he's filled to over-flowing with good points, and that HAS to mean something.
