I'm guessing that you haven't read the books. I mean, the books are much better. Perhaps Game of Thrones prowess is because it actually does the book some sort of remote justice. Whereas most TV/movie adaptations completely butcher the shit out of whatever the book created.

It's true for the most part. 80% of the time the book is exponentially better, 18% of the time the movie is as good or almost as good as the novel, and then 2% of the time the movie is better than the book.
