How is this inventing something? We are talking about archetypes or rather the aura of the character, as Utsune said.

Wasn't she the romantic lead and huge tsundere? How is she also imouto type and what is the standard for imouto type? Taiga is one of the least imouto characters I can think of. I could not ever imagine her saying "onii-chan" even if she had an "onii-chan". I could imagine her punching another character, not acting like an imouto.

What about imouto that don't act like imouto types?. Araragi Karen and Tsukihi are genuine imouto, but don't fit the imouto type. Nadeko and Hachikuji fit the imouto type even though they are only children.

Granted, Taiga is not really a nomination that should be allowed.

Karen and Tsukihi don't fit? They care for there big brother and call him Onii-chan too. They are 100% imouto if you ask me.

I really have to agree though... Taiga doesn't really fit the little sister type.

This vague definition of Imouto (to say the least) open precedent for a bunch of things. It's more like what the person think of the character than what she really is. You can think that a certain character is Imouto when it's not the case, only you think that way for whatever reason. It's much easier use the proper meaning of Imouto IMO. There will be a solid way to say who is imouto or not, without the need of hoster intervention.

As I said. Even Elsie is a little sister and even Maria is a "imouto" for Kodaka for example. I agree that some characters do not fit (like Taiga) but the others ones I just mentioned (and also girls like Renge) certainly would.

As long has she has a brother or sister, whether adoptive or not. I agree that there are Imouto archetypes as well but with Kaiten's example only Nadeko would fit for me, characters like Wendy for Fairy Tail for example. When a girl have a relationship similar to that of a little sister with another one in the concerned anime, she fits IMO.

I know these are the LN illustrations, but I personally liked them better than the anime screenshots.
I would nominate Worst since she technically is the youngest sister...but he has more of that teasing-type onee-san vibe...as well as the fact that she has yet to appear in the Index anime...

Yeah, I meant 10032. I'm pretty sure that was the only one ever referred to as Misaka Imouto, though. The narration of the novels always said something along the lines of "10032, the one referred to as Misaka Imouto..."

I don't think a character who doesn't appeal to somebody as an imouto does not necessarily mean she doesn't for other people (furthermore I can personally relate to Taiga-like imouto character, not that this is an argument.) The poll will decide whether she appeals to the majority as an imouto or not anyway without having to omit her straight from the nomination stage
