Ladies and Gentleman, dear Otakus,
welcome to MangaHelpers' new season of the Anime League!

About

• This league has one purpose and one alone. To crown the best Anime of the season.

Rules

• Every user gets to nominate his top 3 episodes of the week in THIS thread.
• Nominating day is on Sunday. It is possible to nominate BEFORE that day, but NOT after it. (We do allow late nominations on Monday on certain occasions)
• A week goes from Sunday to Saturday. The Nomination day for that whole week is the day AFTER that Saturday. For example: This week goes from Mar 31st to Apr 7th, 23:59 CET. Voting day for this week would be the 8th till 23:59 CET.
• The nominations get counted. The Anime with the most votes in total wins the league.
• There won't be a restriction for Anime which have no threads here
• Only TV shows count (no OVA, no movies, no ONA, no TV specials)
• The nominations for all shows will count as if they all had the same amount of episodes during this season. Shows with just 10, 11 or 12 episodes will get additional points based on the average they got so far to make it fair.
• A show which is longer than one cour is eligible for the season until it gets a new opening song.

Results

• We will post an updated table each week to keep you updated about which Anime is leading so far.
• Every user who voted for the winning Anime has the chance to win a badge at the end of the year. So keep on nominating!

Well, here we are again... The beginning of a season and WAY too many to choose from.

Yup way too many, even for me. I'll aggressively pare it down a lot more than in previous seasons. I have 2 jobs right now and just can't handle it.
I'm looking to get it down to about 10-12 series at most.

Being in the know with the whole Tokyo Ghoul scene on Reddit, I'm pretty sure that Crunchyroll, Anime Lab, and one other legal stream will be running for Tokyo Ghoul:re

This season will be interesting.
Remakes, new Anime seasons and brand new goodies.
It will be fun.

Amazing start for the second half.

Strong start to the season. My picks are...

- Darling in the FranXX (Fantastic episode)
- Hinamatsuri
- GeGeGe no Kintaro​

Honorable mentions for Uchuu Senkan Tiramisù and Grancrest Senki.

This seems like this is going to be a season with a lot of competition. Hinamatsuri and Kintaro both impressed me quite a bit. FranXX seems like it might be starting to build momentum, finally. Grancrest is making things happen. Add all the stuff that will be starting up in the next week and there are going to be a lot of contenders.

Strong start indeed. My choices for this first week:

• Captain Tsubasa (2018).
• Hinamatsuri.
• Megalo Box.

But Tada-kun was quite good as well.

Spring usually is a strong season by default, but this looks surprisingly good so far. And this isn't even counting other possible strong contenders, like BnHA or Steins;Gate 0.

only watched Gegege no kitaro and Tsubasa (unexpectedly) this week enjoyed both, saw also mha.

so ge ge ge no kiataro :

and never thought i d choose that, but surprisingly tsubasa #1 was very good.


If im not mistaken MHA rating is starting next week ?

This weeks picks!

Darling in the FranXX -ep13- The Beast and the Prince… really good start to the 2nd cour.
Captain Tsubasa (2018) -ep01- This was pretty good… including a moment of inappropriate humor.
Hinamatsuri -ep01- LoL! Hina and Nitta are pretty funny.

Spoiler: Other shows I've watched

Tada-kun wa Koi wo Shinai -ep01- Funny romance. Pretty good so far but they've definitely met before.
Megalo Box -ep01- This was good! A bit of a Cowboy Beebob vibe.
Boku no Hero Academia -ep39- I was a little disappointed with a recap ep as the start.
Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu: Die Neue These - Kaikou -ep01- Pretty good. Never saw the original series though.
Mahou Shoujo Ore -ep01- Pretty funny, but I'm not sure how long I can take it.
3D Kanojo: Real Girl -ep01- Not bad, but there are better ones out there.
Gegege no Kitarou -ep01- Pretty good so far. We'll see how far it goes
Kakuriyo no Yadomeshi -ep01- ok start.
Comic Girls -ep01- not bad, but I wasn't thrilled either.
Souten no Ken: Regenesis -ep01- I hated the cgi… but the story might be good.

And there is so much I haven't watched yet. This could be a really good season!
