Ladies and Gentleman, dear Otakus,
welcome to MangaHelpers' new season of the Anime League!​

About

• This league has one purpose and one alone. To crown the best Anime of the season.

Rules

• Every user gets to nominate his top 3 episodes of the week in this thread.
• Nominating day is on Monday. It is possible to nominate before that day, but not after the following Tuesday.
• A week goes from Monday to Sunday. The Nomination day for that whole week is the day AFTER that Sunday. For example: This week goes from Mar 27th to Apr 02nd, 23:59 CET. Voting days for this week would be the 03rd and the 04th, 23:59 CET.
• Voting is possible till the weekly ranking has been posted.
• The nominations get counted. The Anime with the most votes in total wins the league.
• There won't be a restriction for Anime which have no threads here
• Only TV shows count (no OVA, no movies, no ONA, no TV specials)
• Pre-airs aren't eligible.
• A new seasonal show needs at least 10 episodes to be eligible.
• Shows with irregular airing or episode numbers will be dealt with accordingly.
• The nominations for all shows will count as if they all had the same amount of episodes during this season. Shows with just 10, 11 or 12 episodes will get additional points based on the average they got so far to make it even.
• A show which is longer than one cour is eligible for the season until this season ends or reaches 13 episodes. Whichever comes first.

Results

• We will post an updated table each week to keep you updated about which Anime is leading so far.
• Every user who voted for the winning Anime has the chance to win a badge at the end of the year. So keep on nominating!
• A weekly ranking of the participating users will be shown as well!

IMPORTANT NOTICE

• For the time being there will be no table for honorable mentions. You are of course still free to post them to spark interest in watching it.
• New shows for this season started on April 01st. So even if the example above has a longer timeframe, only shows which started airing on the 01st or 02nd April are eligible for week one.
• Shows which were put on hold in Winter 2023 because of the Corona situation in Japan and continue in this season will start with their previous score.

That will be complicated ,

There are too many series that has great potential. I hope people won't sleep on Kimi Houkagou wa Insomnia and Skip to Loafer, and I hope both adaptations will do justice to their original manga. If the animes end up not that good, pliz guys go and give the manga a try !

Jigokuraku (off to a good start, but too early to tell)
Tengoku Daimakyou (as fun as expected, mystery done right)
My Home Hero (sadly not as fun as expected but rather trashy, mystery not done so right. Might give it one more episode)

MIX Season 2 - I've always loved this author's works.

I had a lot going on this last weekend so...
I'm already behind.

I like the duo, intriguing setup, and good production values.

Jigokuraku
Sagiri and Gabimaru make for a good duo.

We're going to be blessed with both Oshi no Ko Akane and Yamada-kun Akane this season

(+) Goddess Cafe Akane, and she has the same va as Mai!

Kimetsu no Yaiba
The Infinity Castle segment was so dramatic lol. New season looks promising just as expected though

Pairing an executioner with a prisoner and sending them on an "adventure" is an interesting concept
Yamada-kun Lv999 no Koi wo Suru
The online game's scenes are lovely

My picks....

Isekai de Cheat Skill - More interesting set up than your usual isekai type. Only real complaint so far is that I wish the MC stayed fat. I understand the bishi transformation is part of the power fantasy but dramatically that feels like missed a opportunity. Still, potentially quite enjoyable. Mostly because of doing the contempory world/fantasy world thing at the same time. I like that dual plot lines concept.

Kaminaki Sekai no Kamisama Katsudou - Giving it a nod for being weird and interesting. Absolutely star studded cast and a plot that you would think would be ecchi comedy but turns out to be strangely dark at the same time and a whole world setup that's strange and bordering on grimdark.

Mahou Tsukai no Yome - Second season pretty much feels like the first. That's a good thing for me.
