Congrats to Akia999 for winning the Best Manga Contest! You did a really great job with both submissions and we appreciate the time you took out in making them. =)

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday break and I'm sorry that I haven't been around much lately. There was quite a lot of shizzle that I needed to take care of in rl hence my absense. Time for a bit of catching up to do and then we'll get this show on the road! =D

For those that maybe struggling in regards to the theme or are not too sure on how to start with this Spring themed banner, I'll try and help with some simple and random ideas:

- Spring is the season of luuuuuuuurve~ So there are limitless possiblities if you want to go down that route.

- If you like working with lots of different colours then take a look at Holi for some inspiration! That festival is full of colour, vibrance and all round celebrations! I'm sure one can come up with a variety of different settings for a banner with the holi influence running through it. ^^

- Spring break

- With the coming of Spring brings new life to the nature world! All sorts of animals and insects resurface into the world. Whether it's from hibernation or nestling deep down the burrows of a field~ You could make a cute-spring themed banner if you want!

- If you are currently following the new season of anime then maybe you could choose one specific character or series that has a link with the theme spring!? It could be an object, a scene or moment or something different that you feel is befitting for a banner.

- Spring rolls

- Flowers are a big thing around Spring time. Maybe one could make a collage spread of a variety of different popular spring flowers that bloom around this time~ Label it as "Spring Awakening" or something. xD

I did enjoy reading all of them, it's a bummer when you can't vote for more than one contestant (its like that for a reason i know) but I sincerely hope you guys will consider participating again! Yay! I'm so glad my lil "inspirational" post helped.

Great banner, Akia999~~~ I can definitely see the holi-influence in your banner. xD The range of colours fused together and changing from one end to the other has been done superbly! I have to say that the choice of texture package (amazing find btw O.O) and that specific character render (amazing find again *.*) compliments the whole background setting beautifully! It's a graceful looking banner xDDDD~

I'm so happy you got inspired to make something! That's what it's all about~~~ You capture a moment or an idea and you run with it!

Dead artists you know. <_< I got offended so I worked faster to finish my spring banner ...what a way to get motivated =.=


So yeah, I named it Spring Girl because I honestly couldn't think of a better name for it. >< I wanted to focus on the nature-side of things in the spring season. I tried to create a serene setting with some warm and peaceful colours. I like using bits and bobs from a few different images to create something unique. It doesn't work all the time but I like how it looks overall and I hope some of you do too! 8D Sometimes making a banner is similar to a puzzle. Trying to work with small designs and ideas to make it all match together in the end. =)


Looking forward to TheBoss hopefully making it three submissions all in all before the deadline! Come on guys! We can do this!
