The contest are held weekly or bi-weekly depending on how long the submission period was. The categories are earlier determined but members can vote/suggest preferred themes depending. This is the Info thread for art contests. As for our next drawing, we're currently wrapping up last year's contest. The next set of contests comes later on when we begin this year's batch. We'll eventually have a drawing contest so you can check back from time to time to see if any ongoing contest interests you, to drop comments/suggestions or to vote on other running contests

What I thought was that somewhere there was a table that has a predetermined list of all the contests in the next few months, and so I could see when a drawing would be, but I guess it's more dynamic than that.

When will the next contest start btw?

So the Best Artist category at the Community Awards will be removed I guess?

Short answer is no.

They are separate events; whereas here the leaderboard takes into account participation in art contest, activity in the section and tallies points to rank members, the Community Award can be said to be more sentimental and members' nominate and vote can be based on reminiscent memories of older artist members.
