Eh, Curry and Thompson are fun to watch. Don't care about Paul, but Griffin is also a fun watch.

Eh... you're the one who gets sexually excited about LeBron. Don't project your sick fantasies onto me.

Great win last night. I would have been happy with a road spit. The Wizards were a bad draw for the Bulls. Nene and Gortat are skilled interior scorers, capable of neutralizing Chicago's perimeter defense while wearing down Noah inside. They have so much skill on the perimeter that Chicago can't sag inside. Cheat inside and it leaves Beal, Webster, and Ariza open for three.

The sterling story is ridiculous. And the least ridiculous is for me sterling himself. Is it that hard to accept that sterling is just a very old man who grew up in a different society than us ? Tolerance goes both ways. Listen to the tape, it s just an old bloke who is likely a little senile. Yes he already proved that he got some racism in him but come on, how many people of his generation are like that ?

It was only a private talk, move on. Massive hypocrisy towards liberty of speech and freedom. The guy got the rights to think what he wants. Nambla was legal in the us but sterling is somehow now the antechrist ?
Just because, at 80 years old, he is a little racist ?

Utterly ridiculous.

Finally, he already got his punishment. He was the owner of the worst sport franchise for 30 years. If that s not punishing him enough

Even though I kinda agree with what you say, freedom of speech has nothing to do with it (and a lot of people make the same mistake as you). You're free to say wtv you want as long as it doesn't offend someone else (and racists comments break this rule). You are NOT allowed to say anything you please.

I don't think there's such thing as a little racism. You either are or you aren't. Everybody is free to say whatever they want, but they also have to deal with the consequences. He's a public figure, he's part of an organization with a worldwide brand that public condemns racism or any other kind of prejudice. Mostly of his organization is composed by the people from the same ethnic background that he just bashed and he threats it like a it's a normal thing. I don't think that old age is excuse to anything... yes, is harder to people change as the world change but think lesser of people because of their racial background it's not right, it's not excusable.
A slaver back on the the 1800 grew up on a different society, yet I don't find them less excusable for their hideous acts..

Thanks captain obvious, of course i know that. But that doesn t make it less hypocritical. The notion of offense is evolving and sterling grew up in a world in which racism was almost natural. So, i can t blame the bloke.

You re wrong. If you re raised to think that black people are just slaves, that all your life, people around you told you it s ok to have slaves, it s understandable that your view is biased. It s not that easy to challenge your values.

Who among us never killed a fly ? In a 1000 years, it will maybe be considered as an attrocious murder. You killed it just because she was on your tv screen, you monster

Only a sith deals in absolutes.

I stop there. I m just a little more tolerant than you guys :d. I can tolerate intolerance.

It isn't hypcritical, it's just how it works (why do you even name Freedom of Speech anyway then). And Moa already explained nicely how a public figure should act, regardless of his age.

you're missing the point. He wanna be racist fine by him. people have problem with the fact that he's a public figure, in a league where 80% of players are black and he's an owner. tolerance goes both way doesn't mean you gotta tolerate a racist owner who think of his team as nothing but modern black slave? you're not making much sense here.

He's not just a public figure, but an authority figure. He has final authority over hiring and firing at all levels, from management down to players. He is also a billionaire real estate tycoon. He has been sued for alleged discrimination in apartment buildings he owns. Sterling settled out of court, before going to trial, so it's hard to know exactly how much is true. There really is no use for racism, but racism from a landlord and real estate owner effects other people. It is not the harmless opinion of one out of touch old man.

Freedom is not an excuse to say or do whatever you'd like. That is not freedom, it is irresponsibility. "My right to swing my arm ends at your nose." Your rights are limited by my rights. The role of the government is to balance those rights, when they come into conflict. Racism is not protected speech. The law does not recognize the right to racism. The tapes TMZ published are not in violation of the law. Nothing Donald Sterling said was prosecutable. Racist renting policy is prosecutable, but he avoided that by settling out of court. Sterling's actions should be held in contempt. If the allegations are true he should be forced to sell. These tapes rightfully open Sterling up to suit, or prosecution, for racist hiring or firing practice as an owner. The NBA would be found liable if one of their owners was found guilty of discrimination, or settled out of court.

On a lighter note, behold: Stevie Franchise wearing his own jersey to Wizards - Bulls game four.

now let's hope won't take long before he sells. now i can say i'm extremely satisfied with Adam Sterling as a commissioner. If it was Stern i bet he would only give a light punishment to Sterling

I'm not really sure what "banned for life" means or matters unless they can force him to sell the team.

banned for life is the highest punishment for Sterling. that mean he can't do anything related to the team, to the player or to the nba now. he can't even show up at practice and games. that make him a kind of "only on paper and with 0 power" owner now. he doesn't wanna sell but with a 3/4 vote of the owners they can remove him as an owner and Silver already have the support of 16 owners. So yeah you can already consider Sterling done and gone. Only a matter of time.

Yeah, I know. But I didn't know how the vote would go. Not sure I see much of a justification for voting against it, but I'm not an owner...so

But my point is he'll still be profiting from the team until he is removed, but hopefully he will be.

Silver is a lawyer. He would not have publicly said that he would start proceedings to remove Sterling if he did not have the votes. Most of the basketball reporters I follow (like Woj and Mark Stein) believe there is unanimous support. Sterling will profit from the team even after he is removed. He bought the Clippers for $12.5 million. They are easily worth a billion now, probably more.

WZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ. I'm hoping for the Hawks in round two.

Goddammit, Bulls. :( Oh well, hopefully there's next year once we get Rose and hopefully, Mirotic and Melo. We still did well when people wrote us off without Rose and when we lost Deng.
