Should've traded Gasol and Matthews imo, Gasol has been flat and Matthews just hasn't done what we need him to do. If it's true that Shroder turned down a 4 year 86 million dollar contract then fuck dude, guess we're in the market for a point guard come season end.

buyout rules definitely need to change, at least they should be required to sign based on a % of their former contract. Otherwise it's just unfair to small markets

Not really small markets but rather teams that aren't top competitors. A decade ago the Spurs were doing the same with Diaw for example, and San Antonio is definitely not a big market. Players are getting the min for the ros so might as well ringchase.

Regarding the buyouts, it's one of the few ways players have total control on their team destination; cos if the JJ Redick situation shows anything is that the front office will say and do anything to look for their best interest first.

I don't like the idea of teams stacking up or ringchasing but if I've been bought out of my contract, as far as I can see I can do whatever the fuck I want. Maybe moving the window for buyout would be a compromise but like the article says, the NBPA will likely push back hard on this. I certainly don't see any changes happening in time for next season.

That Michael Rapaport and KD exchange is just embarassing; two grown men arguing on social media like uneducated teenagers. What's worse is posting all that shit on social media, especially after you've deleted some of your own comments, what's he trying to achieve? Even with the people that love to hate KD, the can stand Rapaport even less so they were siding with KD here. It's just dumb but his comments about the interview with Chuck and the TNT team I can understand, I don't know why Rapaport is telling to "shut up and just answer the question"; because sometimes the way the media phrases interview questions doesn't really give you leeway to answer them how you want.

The NBA just fined KD for the leaked conversation and it just baffles me. How you going to fine someone for a conversation they had in private? regardless of it being leaked but ESPECIALLY it came to be public knowledge through someone else's actions.

Guess there are things in their contracts about conduct that I'm not aware of...
