You know it's a good piece of news when BBC reports it, but our national newspapers post no mention of it on their websites. If they did it must have been a small news that I didn't notice and that was given room far down on the sites. But I know why it's been given so little attention - the incident's geographical area.

I believe we both grew in wisdom today.

Brown cheese, or brunost is among the only things I can't make myself eat. My best friend still gives me hell about me "pretending to not like it" all the time, recently just a few days ago.

I promise you this. I shall buy a brown cheese, for the first time in my life, and I will test just how well it burns and post a picture of it.

How can a truck full of brown cheese catching fire and burning five straight days, complete with toxic flames, and north of the Arctic Circle no less, not be newsworthy? That's practically apocalyptic. It also would make a fantastic thread title. I need to keep an eye out for brunost, I'd like to try it sometime. I do somehow feel more knowledgeable now than before I had read that article, glad to know you feel the same. Please do post pictures of your experiment. I'd also like to know how hot the fire burns, try and find out if you can. Celsius or kelvin is fine. Fahrenheit is inappropriate for a scientific investigation.

Yeah I agree, although the only arc I can think of that was 8 episodes long (or was it 7 or 9? Close enough anyway) was Yoshiwara. There's a few 5 episode ones that I can't put my finger on that I've watched.

Are you up to date?

Somewhat. Haven't seen the last episodes batch (no idea how long) and some few epp from the 100's that weren't subbed at the time. All things that should change during this week if all goes according to plan.

Even performing a google search I was only able to find minor news about it in Norwegian. I'm convinced the Norwegian government has silenced all media to prevent any ill news from spreading regarding brunost, our national treasure. Talk about corrupt, I'm disgusted.

I can't think of anything that beats Gin x Parfait.

A strong second place would be Gin x Tsukuyo.

The thought of brown cheese and beer makes me noxious. I'd give you some, and politely keep mine untouched on the plate. I'd take the beer or wine of course.

I'm going to apply for AU, it has a partnership with my school, making the tuition fee nonexistent. I do however need to take a TOEFL (language) test despite having high scores in English (1 from perfect, unfairly). Most universities accept high school English grades above a given number, but AU demands a test no matter what. It costs me $200, but the positive side is that I will likely get in if I get a high enough score on it. Last year (the first year the partnership was in place), only two applied for it. One got an internship at another university and took that instead, the other didn't make the test deadline. If about the same amount of people apply this year I'm getting in if I pass the test satisfyingly.

Haven't heard anything yet, not even his name. I'm at episode 30 now and am already thinking of skipping episodes <___< some are pretty funny, others are rather plain and barely make me smile. Probably will just watch the first few minutes of each episode and then decide if I watch the rest or just skip it.

So far:

Shinsengumi guys are mostly fun (haven't remembered the exact names yet)

Gintoki and Kagura are fun

Shinpachi is... funny sometimes, sometimes not. Definitely my least favourite out of the three mains

Katsura and Elizabeth are great

That sarutobi ninja girl is plain annoying, don't like her one bit.

No real opinion about Otose yet but I think I like her

Best Episodes so far: Okama Katsura and Gin and Urahara guy introduction

And I'm not sure, I watched an episode that mentioned the .... Sect. They control the Shogun and stuff from the shadows. I suppose they play a bigger role later or...?

Yeah, being into the series and characters help you accept the average episodes. Then again I don't really watch more than 3-4 max these days, so if there's one average episode within those I don't experience them more than once a day, max. I rarely find them average anyway. I think Gintama overall improves with time. Like I've said before, the start is kind of average sometimes.

Shinsengumi are awesome. Pretty much all their episodes are great.

Shinpachi is like I said only useful for punch lines. He has his moments, but Gin and Kagura are both way more funny, interesting and not to mention much, much more powerful. Shinpachi is really normal.

Ayame is supposed to be an annoying stalker

Yeah, average is a good description. Guess I will go with the way I mentioned and hope that I get more hooked over time. Probably will drop it if the Benizakura Arc doesn't impress me but well, still a lot of episodes to go so who knows how my opinion might change.

And I get that she's supposed to be an annoying stalker but I doubt Sorachi intended her to be annoying and so totally not funny towards the readers (watchers lol).

Anyway I'm not sure. The Shogun has only been featured for comedic purposes so far. Actually the episodes that feature him are extremely funny later on (the moments received an anime/manga award for it). However I believe there is a Shogun arc or something later, where I suppose that Sect you mention might come into play. I frankly don't remember the episode you speak of. However there's several mentions of power play, both in the past as well as present, so it might be the case.

Directly she's rarely funny, but she causes funny situations. She does however have funny moments, and some of her dirty rants are epic, things like "yes, just like that! throw me on the ground and ravage me from behind!" xDDDD

Seems your memory isn't the best, you couldn't remember anything I said so far despite the Urahara guy I shall see, but I recall the Shogun moments winning an award.

... maybe. For some reason she's my most hated character so far though, so I don't really enjoy it when she pops up. I'm currently watching the eps were Gintoki lost his memories, quite good so far (maybe you remember that one ).

I'm at ep 33 now, probably have to go a bit slower now that all the episodes from this and the least season are coming out. That's 12 different episodes gathered through friday till Sunday evening, it's a bit annoying that there's nothing from monday to thursday but are all released in a matter of a few days afterwards. That means Gintama time will be monday to thursday, let's see if I can watch an episode or two over the weekend.

I'm at ep 40 now, it's supposed to be about... Kagura's father? Or some kind of stepfather I guess. Actually I'm pretty hyped for that episode and will watch it now I'm craving for some Kagura and Gin background, don't really care about Shinpachi (not that I believe there's anything important left anyway).
