Ive just read berserk up to current and its easily my favourite. Is it only like 15-20 page chapters being relised monthly atm whats with that situation? its more of a bummer than claymore... some one tell me this aint true i might have had second thoughts on flat out reading it if i knew that lol

^It's true the mangaka takes HUGE breaks between chapters, but with the manga running 20 years now, the research for chapters must be phenomenal...and its not even released a on a strict monthly schedule, sometimes its been like 3-4 months before we get a hint at the next chapter release....so just buckle down and wait

Was it being released in volumes though before which means you would get a lot out of the wait. It must suck to wait that long only to get a chapters worth of development but atleast its still going after 20 years

yeah well the good news is that Berserk has been confirmed to be two-thirds done. Which means that it'll probably end in the next 10 years

The magazine Berserk runs in, Young Animal, is a bi-monthly magazine. So when Berserk is on a regular schedule, though it's rare, we get a chapter every two weeks for a run. Though it doesn't last long.

It wasn't released in a tankouben like the other chapters. No real reason was given for why this was done. It should still be available on online sites that host the entire series.

Does anyone think that Guts will wield the Resonance Blade, the one made from Behelits? The astral world and the real world are getting merged...and the only space manipulator weapon is this...and I don't expect the skull warrior to stay around much, and I figure Guts will seperate the real world from the astral world

Well so far we've only seen a negative result of the worlds merging. Maybe there will be some positives though? As long as Skull Knight is around, I see no reason why Guts would wield it. It might be something only Skull Knight can use due to him collecting the Behelits.

What, as a permanent replacement for the Dragon Slayer? If so, then no, for a couple of reasons. One is that the Behelit Sword (assuming, as xi0 says, that Guts can even use it) proved ineffectual against Femto, Guts' ultimate foe, whilst the Dragon Slayer is and was shown to be capable of harming godlike beings—God Hand included. Another is that Guts has been offered replacement weapons in the past, but rejected them in favour of "What [his] hand knows best." In short, the Behelit Sword is neither wanted nor needed (by Guts).

A third and less obvious reason is that the Dragon Slayer has become symbolic of man's triumph over nature—or rather, man's capacity to exceed his limitations (bear with me). It was once thought impossible for humans to fly or venture into outer space, but with modern technology, it became possible. Similarly, the apostles were thought to be imdomitable, the Eclipse unsurvivable, the Dragon Slayer unwieldable, but Guts prevailed in these endeavours and more besides. The Dragon Slayer is the very icon of that success; it represents Guts' resilience and unbreakable will as a warrior, and by extension, man's ability to overcome all obstacles, however impossible they might first appear.

That's my take on it, anyway. The Dragon Slayer has earned its "role" as Guts' primary weapon, thus I'm confident that when he stands opposite Griffith and moves to strike the fatal blow, it'll be the Dragon Slayer he holds in his hands.

I would add that since they are really in a fantasy world now, the sword will finally slay some real dragons. Not an apostle who looks like a dragon I mean.

I meant after the Skull Knight dies or gets defeated...
But UR right...why not see some positive elements of the Astral World...Falconia should show some of these if they exist...some interesting creatures have appeared

I'm thinking somehow that it will be the last battle...Guts will fight God Hands or Femto and he will break the sword, but as a last resort an ally will give him the Resonance Blade and he will end things...I don't expect things to be dealt with in this flashy, shounen manner, think of these ideas as general guidelines of what could happen...it will be a more serious showdown, I'm sure of it

His confrontation with Gutts will probably trigger some of these hidden emotions that are part of the Gutts legacy, so maybe the one ending the merging of the worlds will be the one whose appearance caused it in the first place, Griffith. I really like this idea. That we will get to see another side of Griffith later on. Personally, I think post eclipse/ 2nd resurrection griffith has been a kind of stale character. The original Griffith was almost perfect, but he still had subtle flaws that made him human. Maybe Caska and Gattsu's influence will make these reappear. Miura hinted at this right after the reunion between Gattsu and new Griffith.

Also I think Gattsu will have a more profound victory than revenge. I mean revenge would feel pretty good for all of us, Gattsu included, but SK has said that it might not be the correct path. Whether SK meant that he didn't think Gattsu could succeed or that this would end up being an empty victory, I'm not sure. IMO Gattsu will feel really dissatisified after he kills Griffith. His whole life was centered around this solitary goal. What is he supposed to do afterwards? Fixing Caska will probably be more important and more fulfilling.
