I imagine he did work without assistants earlier in his career. The art was of a "lesser" standard back then and inking each episode was likely not as taxing for Miura as it appears to be today. Recent volumes have elevated Berserk to a whole new plateau in terms of artistry and detail, so it's not unthinkable that Miura may have hired a few assistants to alleviate the workload a little.

Good to know. Ya its not untypical to have some people who draw out buildings and bystanders. But ya the brunt of the detail that is required is mostly Miura. Ganishka must've been an insane amount of work.

Just an FYI: Episode 307 will mark Berserk's 20th anniversary and Young Animal have something special planned, apparently:

Not much is known at the moment, but details will appear on YA's website [CLICK] on the 18th, which is Friday next week.

oh, hell, it`s gotta be something grand! 20th anniversary of the most epic manga series of all times... can`t wait for the 18th now... the Berserk community will surely get something worthy of our wait! ^_^

...or at least i hope so... Miura never let us down so far... o_O

I BET ON THE 20TH ann, that miura will announce his throwing berserk away rofl, its not funny it would be terrible.
maybe on the 18th his realeasing 50 chapters, he owes us about that much for waiting lol.
well not really owe but it would be nice.....
he will prob have the next chapter all in colour or something.

That'd be such a serious blow to dedicated manga readers like us....I'd be heart broken.

IMO i think it could be harzard, somebody might hurt themselves if miura did that lol.
God i can't wait till berserk is back, when it returns it feels like years since i've last seen it. Boy oh boy when are the spoilers coming? next week? the week after? :tem

Usually a few days before the expected release so possible as early as next weekend.

hmm... okay, the 20th anniversary piece of news is already out: http://www.younganimal.com/berserk/34/

i see some pretty pictures and the release of the 34th volume and it says something about the 25th of this month, but that`s as far as i can tell; i don`t understand anything else... can someone who knows Japanese help us with the text? >_>

From what I can gather its 9-25 which is the next chapter release anyways. 34th volume comes out as well as celebrating the 20th anniversary. Supposably something special is in store.

Nevermind, people, the guys over at SkullKnight.net have done the hard work already and graciously supplied us all with details.

well, that`s great, not as great news as i expected, but i would certainly want to get my hands on that huge poster, the volume, the separate book, the dices (a fan would also be good), but most importantly, the book cover, as i read quite a few books... that would`ve been awesome if not for Femto on the cover... :darn

well, i guess it`s good enough news that volume 34 is out, guess i was expecting too much... :tem

What more could you expect, realistically? Frankly, I'd have been satisfied with the alternate cover alone, - that there is a gorgeous piece of artwork - everything else is just a bonus, as far as I'm concerned. (Well... all of it's a bonus, but, er... You know what I mean!)

Got to say, though, I'm really intrigued by the data booklet thingy. There are certain aspects of Berserk lore that need clarifying, I think, and this would be a great way to do it.

Lovely, although I'd still take the alternate cover if I had to choose.
