Could men and fantasy being really coexist in the world?
I wonder how disconnected from world wide events will Guts and his party be, being headed to an island in the middle of the ocean.

Schierke is at least aware of what happened I believe. I think most of the others noticed as well...Sea God, Mermaids, etc.

They've noticed something's changed... but I'm not sure how they will react once the come back to mail land (IF they come back) and find the kind world Griffith is building now.

I think the Berserk world was already in a bit of a mess, due to the God Hand interventions of making it such a place, not everywhere though, now Griffith will bring all of that evil out in the open everywhere. Though interesting that Guts was kind of isolated while the beginning of it happened. Funny how Berserk gets more and more complex as it goes on, as we have not seen a lot already. Though if evil is so present that means good will win in the end by coming out on top as the super underdog!

Appearances don't mean everything. If you took a random person and showed them Griffith and Guts who would they say is Good, and who Evil?

But even then, that's assuming that this is even a case of Good vs Evil in the first place. And I don't think it's that black and white

On of the themes of Berserk is that "the Idea of Evil" is something man made... and that resides within each one of us.
That's one of the reasons everything is so dim gray about every character, which makes them sometimes really human, and sometimes beyond that, when necessary (demons, God Hand, etc)

Evil within us - that has a Christian theme(sound) to it, I would not put it pass Miura to revisit the Christian theme, in fact the pope is with Griffith so we may have some religious(spiritual) path that Berserk can take. If I had to guess, Conviction was just a realistic view on religion in society, while we are in for some deeper spiritual stuff later on. Not that, as it was said, Guts is the prefer goody two shoes, but compared to Griffith come on? Morals and values still stick with him, even as the journey progresses he seems to have them even more.

Guts, mostly due to his companions, he takes care of Caska, he seems to make friends out of some of his previous enemies, it seems like good stuff to me. Griffith is following his own little plan, he is cunning and will betray those that follow him. So that is another thing that Guts has, his friends, so in the end we can see him as a better man.

Ah true. But for some reason I think it can be applicable to Guts as well. Given the circumstance of the Eclipse, it wasn't as simple as he betraying his friends. He had endured months of torture that left him physically and emotionally scarred. Obviously that warped him.

It's so weird given how he is now. He was always ambiguous in many ways, but now it's even more severe. Because the world around him looks to him as a champion it only makes the direction in which the story will go that much more unpredictable.

Reminded me of when the God Hand appeared to Griffith in the wall of the prison.^^ I think Miura may have had this for inspiration.

M. C. Escher, and I think we saw that scene a few times actually, in the beginning with Guts as well, when they first appeared in the manga, though they appear in such a fashion previously since Golden Age was before that beginning. It really is somewhat close to the theme of Berserk since the work of art is called Relativity.

I remember them appearing on the stairs in the same kind of painting you originally linked to.

Chapter 324, well according to wikipedia at least, and that comes out this September. We will be getting around three chapters maybe in the next 6 months.

Ridiculous, but I'm not surprised. No new volume this year, but at least we have the recently released episodes. I don't even try to rationalize it anymore.

Damn that far back Well lets hope that all of volume 37 chapters are release in mag before the volume comes so we get maybe 3 more chapters. Personally I feel like the last three chapters should be at the end of a volume or start.
