My waiting for Berserk "nerve" is busted so I can't feel the pain anymore. I kind of feel sad for the people who just caught up with the manga recently Especially the ones I hooked up myself. But in reality, a dealer usually gains profit, while I gain curses n' shit like "why the hell did you show me this manga if it's a chapter per solar eclipse?".

Anyway, If Miura-bro releases a chapter in April, I'll be 27 that's scary shit if you think about the long term.

The next lunar eclipse is on April 4, 2015.
The next solar eclipse will be a total eclipse on March 20, 2015.

About right for the next release!

It took me 3 days to read 300 chapters when I got into Berserk. Needless to say I didn't sleep that much as a result . It just gives you an idea about how good it is, it was so good that I couldn't put it down for more than an hour. In comparison I think OP took me more time to catch up, but I didn't feel that same urge to read it as I did with Berserk(I read Berserk first then OP). And the re-reading value is very high, I think I read it completely 3 times, and whenever it resumes I go back and read a couple of chapters to recapitulate what happened. So even if you do catch up, you can still re-read it to really understand the story, and you can always come here to discuss it.I also suggest you read Miura's oneshot, Gigantomakhia, it's pretty good too. And then there's the TV series and the movies if you really do become a hardcore fan

I think it took me around 3 days to catch up too. I was not very enthusiastic at the beginning but once I reached the Golden Age arc...

Yea you can see and feel how Miura evolved as a mangaka from the 1st chapters up to the golden arc and beyond. I reread this manga at least once per year. It is just so pleasing every time. Both the story and the art are just plain phenomenal. My all time favorite for a very good reason.

Speaking of eclipses, my mind is not ready for a second eclipse Although if it happens in the manga, is it possible for it to be more horrific than the first time? I simply can't ignore the fact that the apostles are living alongside humans in Falconia, it's just so wrong in so many ways. It's like putting the Titans from SnK with the humans in the same closed place...I wonder if the Apostles need to eat humans, or they just do because they like human flesh? Yeah it's prolly the latter
Sonia needs to die first during the eclipse, I just can't like her attitude towards Griffith and Charlotte, so immature. Well I do think she was better with Irvine.

Anyways I'm at the eclipse part, and the whole killing fest, especially judeau!. So damn heartbreaking.
Griffith is so damn evil.
Totally get guts behaviour from the beginning chapters.

Well so far, its been an amazing read. Like most said here, it was slow at the beginning, but from the golden age arc, I've been hooked. I actually have to finish doing other stuff first cos I can't put it down once I start and I actually read till my eyes close.

Ah damn Judeau's death has to be one of the most heartbreaking moments in the eclipse. The BoH didn't deserve to die that way, like if they were nothing more than livestock, but that's Griffith for you. Btw Holt how did you find the level of violence in the manga? I know many people dismiss Berserk because of that(even me before I got to read it) but I think I can say it's not gratuitous, it's completely understandable and justified by the nature of the forces Guts is dealing with.
Well yeah Guts was a jerk at the beginning, but after the eclipse we actually get an explanation to his actions. He's been through hell, and everyday and night he has to fight for his life. But he does warm up afterwards, although I'm sure he still wants to get revenge.

What I actually find gruesome is what mozgus and his disciples do to people. Gives me shivers.

One of the most fucked up things Guts has done to humans was the murder of Adonis(Julius's son) and it was an accident. Other than that most of his anger is directed towards the demons, but I gotta say that during the fight with Rosine when he's in that place where she holds the children in cocoons, that was really bad. He killed many of them and you could see some of their intestines hanging ugh.
Anyway yeah you kinda get used to the level of violence after a while, and there's still plenty of wtf moments to come. The sad thing about Mozgus is that these tools actually existed during the inquisition.That's what I like about Miura, he really researches his subject, up to the castles and the clothing etc.

I thought guts would have to face him and the other god hands in their realm or whatever. On the bright side he's back on guts side, so no matter how long it takes, he'll eventually get strong enough to pummel griffith and smash his face in.

I like puck and isidoro. Those guys add life and color to the dark setting.

Speaking of the Eclipse. I remember I first got into berserk when I decided to watch the original anime which is pretty much just the golden arc and ends at the eclipse. I didn't see the eclipse coming at all and I just kept saying "wtf!" Like seriously. Every one of those characters who got killed for griffith's sake were very well developed and Miura did an amazing job relaying Guts' emotions through the story. Gaining a home for once and then losing everyone to the one he trusted the most. Just such an awesome story.

I'm 31. I first read the manga in 2008. Good god, I was 25.
