Berserk should have a huge RPG game instead of a horde killing simulator. I'm not bashing the game here, we didn't see enough to judge it yet. I always imagined a story focused game just like The Witcher 3 for example...
Well, it's a Berserk game so I shouldn't complain.

Lol most manga/anime franchises get the Musou treatment, if you want an RPG like game with some Berserk feels then definitely play Dark Souls.It's actually one of From Software's most important source of inspiration, to the point it feels like they're riping off Berserk sometimes...

And actually, I really do think that a Hack n Slash fits Berserk more, I really don't get an RPG feel from it. And when Guts goes into berserker mode, he just hacks at things, which is the point of a Hack n Slash game...

Lola-chan, I played every Souls game In fact I just finished my 5th play-through of Dark Souls 3.
I always believed that Miyazaki is a huge fan of Miura. His games are full of references from Berserk. There's a guy who collected all those similarities in a video. It's actually a really enjoyable video.

Well then you don't need me to explain how Dark souls is basically a Berserk themed game. And Miyazaki explained in length how he's a fan of Berserk in interviews and such.

Other than that it's hard to see how Berserk can be made into an RPG, like the Witcher 3. It doesn't look like it's the same experience, Witcher 3 is all about the side quests etc, I can't see how that could be applied to Berserk tbh.It wouldn't really fit with the story that we have, unless they include the so called "filler".

For games based on anime or manga franchises, it's either the Musou type of games that we get (One Piece, AoT,Berserk) with some story elements, or a fighter (Naruto, One Piece Burning blood, Bleach etc). An RPG and a game that could last 30+ hours would use up much more ressources, and it would need to garner the interest of gamers, not just Berserk fans. Here it's mostly Berserk fans who could be interested in playing it, but that's hardly enough to get the kind of funding necessary to make a triple A game like Dark Souls, or the Witcher.It's just how the industry works.

Visually this looks better than the so called anime....Well I did enjoy playing the PS2 Berserk game, so I will definitely check this one out.

I understand that you don't like anything about the anime based on what they showed us so far. Personally, I will not judge the anime as a failure until I see the first couple of episodes. I never trusted trailers, and I still have some hope that they didn't make a fully rendered series like Ajin.
I didn't mind the animated parts from the movies, in fact, I think that some of them turned out to be really good (SK entrance during the eclipse, Guts vs 100men and Guts and Griffith vs Zodd).
Or maybe I'm just too optimistic for my own good.

The thing is, there's nothing remotely reassuring about the anime based on the trailer...the only moments when things don't look too awful is when there isn't too many moving involved, in still shots basically.

Spoiler: Episode 1: The branded swordsman

Why is Isidro at Guts and Puck's first meeting?
Why they keep making shit up that doesn't exist in the manga? I can overlook the crappy CG as long as it stays faithful to the manga, but this..
Back to the visual aspect, the hand drawn shots are very average, and don't really do Miura's artstyle justice (for example when Guts eats and even in the opening). As for the CG it's a bit better because of the shading filter they added, it looks less flat as a result. There's still "framerate" issues, and the animation which feels awkward when the characters are moving -_-

...And we're diving directly into the conviction arc WTF
No Snake Baron, no Slug count, and more importantly NO ROSINE AND NO JILL?

THOSE are my favorite parts, not friggin' conviction arc...Welp incoming Farnese wipping Guts' hard body, and riding the dragon slayer.

They better add rape horse!

Also it makes absolutely no sense for Guts to fight the Holy Iron chains while he's still fresh, the only reason he was captured was because he just got out of his fight with Rosine which left him weakened, and his wounds hadn't healed yet. So the only reason he lost and got captured was because he was in pretty bad shape,and because of sneaky Serpico.

I was rereading The Golden Age arc and I was taken by the subtle expression of emotions in the character portrayal in every panel. Almost every page created a desire for another reread afterwards. You cannot blithely disregard a panel with cursory glance. There is something in the panels which you cannot point out and so you want to stare at them for more than enough time. There is some kind of stress it produces and that is why I can say that the artwork has a soul in it although, with a careless glance, the artwork looks normal but the whole graphical narration carries a certain attitude which is exclusive to Muira.

I was re-reading Berserk and I was on volume 37. I was wondering why Guts didn't use his hand cannon to blow Sea God's heart while floundering. That was a pretty inadequate portrayal. Showing Guts helpless when he was not in order to emphasize Mermaids

You should better download the torrent from bakabt. It contains Dark horse scans. You should see bakabt's whitelist where all the acceptable torrent software is written otherwise you won't be able to download them
