Am I the only one who was very disappointed with the last chapter, the Diamond guys saying that crap at the end was not how his character was shown to us before, this manga is slowly starting to bore me!

Not many people (including myself) seem to be enjoying this arc. From what I can guess is - because we didn't have the chance to get attached to Fanzel, Domina or Mariella - so it's hard for us to care what is happening to them at the moment. It seems Mars is taking the spotlight for now, which I am interested in. I am sure Mars has his reasons as to why he is doing this... we just gotta wait.

Black Clover has been confirmed for getting an anime made by Studio Perriot.

Just started checking this series out since it's anime announcement has made it the talk of the town and I gotta say...it's nothing really special. But it's also a fun read. An entertaining series that hits all the, I guess "classic"? Shounen beats and story points. It's archetypal as fuck, but thinking about it, it's refreshing in it's own way. It's not trying to subvert anything or mix up the genre like a slew of recent series, OPM, BnH, HxH (all of which I adore to death), but it has a simple charm that's keeping me somewhat invested, despite it not really taking the genre beyond well worn tropes. This series reminds me of the good ol' days of Fairy Tail before it became the series that made me realize I could grow to despise ink on paper.

tbh I'm happy about Perriot , hopefully Supporting characters get some love in the fillers , i'm sick of Asta .
I thought that we will have a rematch for Liar , Vet and Fana vs Nozel , Charlotte and Jack .. but nah 1 of them is already dead and Fana is about to be .

All this hate for Studio Pierrot I understand. Sure, we'll most likely get fillers - which to be honest; I am not afraid of. Pierrot usually handles their fight scenes rather well and what does the majority of the series have? Battles. Think of the bright side, we should have decent character designs; voice actors, music and animation.

It could've gotten a better studio, but we can't be too picky. At least we don't have Xebec for the actual anime.

I may have spoken too soon when I mentioned that the clicheness of the series was refreshing...

Side characters have grown on me though. Mars' has a good foundation, but his face turn feels underdeveloped. Doubly so when it's revealed he's been doing good stuff behind the scenes all this time. It's a shame, because the author had hinted at his sister being alive with their Grimoires', but how it came to ahead feels a bit anticlimactic. Doesn't feel as emotional as it should have. I hope she'll get away and we get a decent confrontation later in the series.

I don't think it's underdeveloped; it's rather simple. He was brainwashed - during his confrontation with Asta (who's anti-magic may have done something with unbrainwashing him) he regained his true memories and somewhat returned to his old self. When he was a kid, he seemed to be a rather kind person - so him trying to helping people who were suffering like he once did doesn't surprise me. Fana will most likely be 'saved', as what most people assumed ages ago. Whether or not she 'gets away' is something else, of she is saved - she won't be 'brainwashed/controlled' anymore, why would she go back to the people who were using her (if that's the case anyway).

Perhaps rushed would have been the better term. It seems like we're expected to have an emotional connection with him and his issues despite the fact that we've only met him once before prior. I'm just not feeling that aspect of this arc.

I'd prefer it if she wasn't saved. I think, for this series, it'd be a good twist for her to escape and then they'd double down on her brainwashing. Then we'd have something for Mars to do. Also it would allow for actual on screen development for him in the meantime before he goes back to save her.

Now that you mention it - yeah... I do have a bad feeling about Ladros. I just hope Tabata doesn't make him target Fanzel, it won't be affective if so.

Same here; least favourite arc. But the most recent chapter was rather good. I just hope the upcoming chapters will be enjoyable as well.
