Seriously though, what exactly is the deal with his mustache? I doubt this is unintentional considering kubo usually does keep track of this sort of detail. Its pretty likely there is some deeper significance to it. Perhaps he is aging at an accelerated rate? Or perhaps it has something to do with sternriter souls returning to him... Or the awakening of his A...

Indeed he seems to have aged a lot since his first appearance.

Possibly, but then I do wonder if it is just unintentional. Yhwach's outfit's gone through a number of subtle changes over his appearances as well, I've noticed. His boots changed a couple of times, his collar went from downturned to upturned (I actually happen to prefer the downturned version, but anyway...), his cuffs changed, and his jacket recently got longer. For one chapter he was wearing a white cape for some reason as well. And for the past couple of chapters he's been drawn with very faint eyebrows when before he had none. His face is a bit more detailed than most other characters so I can see Kubo adapting it over time. Or maybe he just decided a longer tache was the better design, but he changed it gradually so it didn't seem too strange.

First off happy new year to all MH !!! :hee

My théorie is: the Ichigo gang, Chad, Orihime, Ishida and Ichigo of course will be a power house in this arc...

- For Chad and Orihime, I belive Kubo will play with the Hollow is poison to Quincy to justify why these two will be OP against the Elite SR.
- Ishida: well I guess on top of the blood ritual, we will learn why he's so special.
- Ichigo: well main character priviledge hahaha

Also it wil help justify why Grimmjow, the FB will be usefull / capable to fight against SR.

Finally I also thing that all "mysterious charaters" like Urahara gang, Ishin Gang and all that did not show their bankai will be OP with their bankai release or Hax if you prefer.

any toughts on this? :)

^ You might have a point on the whole Hollow poison thing. It hasn't been touched upon yet since the (amazingly convenient) Hollowfication pill Urahara came up with, so if it turns out to actually be meaningful that could be cool. Quilge said that when the WR attacked Hueco Mundo Yhwach went so far as to confront Harribel personally, maybe that's because a strong enough Hollow really would be dangerous even to a Stern Ritter.

Although the weird thing is that Arrancar Ichigo fought clearly had Quincy powers, so for some reason Quincy power is compatible with Hollows but not the other way around.

I completely forgot about the arrancar Quincy what strikes me is why didn't his soul effect Bach upon returning? Pretty we all touched upon this but still It makes little sense to me.

Dunno, maybe they are part of the Wandenreich army, but don't have a piece of Yhwach soul. Could Ebern use Medallion without being a Quincy? While the Wiki stated Friegen is an Arrancar, that's not confirmed.

Maybe that's the case. Ebern had to use some weird chant before he could try to steal Ichigo's bankai.
We've seen no one else do that.

The Arrancar Quincy crossed my mind. As in, why their souls didn't taint Yhwach's when he took his power back after killing them. It could be that he's unique among Quincy in that he's immune to Hollows, but I don't know. It makes sense that their Hollow allergy would come from him like the rest of their powers. Maybe he didn't actually give them a piece of soul to begin with, maybe they were just handed Quincy crosses to replace their Zanpakuto. That also seems weird though - Quincy crosses seem pretty much like Asauchi, so it could make sense if you said a Shinigami just treated a cross like an Asauchi and ran their power through it, but Arrancar Zans seem to be a natural part of them, so switching it with something else doesn't seem possible. But maybe it is, maybe the WR found some way to transform an Arrancar's Zanpakuto into a Quincy cross or something.

But being unable to take the power of a Hollow would explain why Auswählen didn't worked on Ichigo.

Yeah, although he might have deliberately spared Ichigo since he wasn't just Quincy/human, but Quincy/Shinigami. Yhwach might have wanted to see what would become of Ichigo. Also, he did manage to take Masaki's powers after she'd been tainted by White. Presumably White left her as soon as Ichigo was born, but since the soul bond with Isshin was still working she must have still been part Hollow.

On the other and, she was considered an "impure" Quincy because of White. So it doesn't seems it would prevent Auswählen.

Maybe there is some sense on it... in the Medallion case, you are stealing the power of a Shinigami regardless of its effect. However with Auswählen, Yhwach is merely taking back a piece of his own soul.

Juhabach could not use his selection on baby uryu because for whatever reason uryu had a power which surpassed juhabach. At least that was the explanation given by juhabach which at the moment we have neither reason nor context to think is not true. With that in mind it only makes sense that he would be unable to use his selection on ichigo. Not two years ago we saw ichigo turn into something like a god with unfathomable power and he used that power to best transcendental aizen with relative ease. Ichigo is probably immune to the selection for the same reason juhabach was, he has something which surpasses juhabach.

That's definitely possible, but then he also calls Uryu the only survivor and even tells him he alone avoided Auswahlen. Not that he's necessarily telling the truth, but Robert did make the point that Yhwach "hates lies". That doesn't mean he's above telling them I guess, but in a way I want to believe it's true simply because it makes him different from Aizen which is a bit more interesting, and while he does use some strategic trickery and deliberately vague statements he hasn't told any outright lies yet that we know of. So he might have been honest about Uryu being the only one that lived through Auswahlen.

Not that that means Ichigo couldn't have survived, I can imagine he is immune to Auswahlen, though I wonder about that since Yhwach was able to take the Quincy power from Masaki when she was part Hollowfied and linked to Isshin's human and Shinigami bits. So Ichigo having all those things might not quite explain why he'd be immune. I think it's possible that Yhwach actively chose to leave Ichigo alone simply because he'd be the only Quincy in history to be part Shinigami, as far as we know anyway.

Well, it is true I am relying on juhabach not actually telling lies regarding the uryu thing. However I did think it was the case that juhabach does not tell lies. He lies through half truths and omissions but not through his words.

Well, if we go by what we saw with masaki being part hollow does not make you immune to the selection so it wouldn't have worked in protecting ichigo from juhabach either. That is why I made the point of ichigo's transcendental powers, it is relevant because it goes beyond the realm of mortals altogether. Ichigo at that point was most likely the single most powerful existence that was or has been in the manga. Even aizen made the point that the only way for lesser beings to even interfere or feel him was through him specifically allowing it. That goes for the likes of anyone who uses reiatsu including yamamoto, ishin and even juhabach IMO. This is where ichigo becoming whatever he was at that point for no good reason is relevant in him surpassing juhabach. Now, I am not saying ishida necessarily has transcendental powers or anything of the sort. It is entirely possible that whatever ishida has that surpasses juhabach is more worldly than what ichigo has going on for him.

Agreed, that's pretty much what I meant. I think he's being semi-honest with Uryu, in that what he does choose to tell him is true, but he's making sure to keep the details hidden. So I think Uryu was chosen for Auswahlen, whereas Ichigo wasn't. Yhwach has some plan for Uryu instead of snuffing him out before he does surpass him, so I can imagine he similarly had ideas about Ichigo and spared him.

Yeah, I suppose if Uryu was able to resist Auswahlen because of something in his potential even if it's not active, the same could go for Ichigo. Just by having transcendence in his natural potential he might be able to resist Auswahlen now or even when he was a child. In any case, now that his Quincy powers are effectively encased within a blend of Hollow and Shinigami power, one of which is toxic to Quincy and the other the opposite of Quincy, that alone might be enough to block Auswahlen. Because even if Yhwach doesn't want to select Ichigo now, he might decide he wants to when Ichigo inevitably becomes a threat to him, and obviously that can't happen.

Yea it does seem to come down to that Uryu shouldn't of been immune because he should be an impure Quincy since his mother was the maid and yet he was immune. Masaki became an impure because of her run in with the hollow that bit it and Bach was able to take said power without the fear of the hollow poisoning. That means Bach is able to extract the power at it's core and not have it be influenced by any other powers within said person. AKA Masaki having hollow/quincy, the hollow poison might of still been inside her but the quicny wasn't however something to keep in mind is that Masaki didn't die because her power was taken she died because she didn't have the power to fight back the hollow going up against her. Now here's a thought, the hollow wasn't attracted to Masaki but to Ichigo because from what we've learned Ichigo has that hollow inside of him that Masaki was poisoned by.

What we learned from the concept of arrancars is they eat other hollows in order to become stronger and when you consider how strong Ichigo is any hollow would want to feast on the hollow inside Ichigo but Masaki managed to protect him from that happening.

When it comes to Uryu's mother it seemed that her quincy powers allowed her to be healthier but upon losing them she became very sick however this could be related to the scare we saw on Ryuken's mother which does seem to suggest it's a hollow scar. That means the mother was somehow able to survive a hollow attack however Masaki had to go to Urahara for help.

Now here's a thought, it's possible that with the last of her power Uryu's mother did something to protect Uryu from being selected in the same way that Masaki saved Ichigo from Grand Fisher eating him. The reason I say this is because from the story progression we have learned that Uryu/Ichigo in a way follow the same path, they both have gone through similar ordeals and have both dealt with them in semi similar ways.

Both of them used a power sacrificial strike to overcome a foe which they wanted to stop, both regained their powers through their peers, both are stubborn with their ideals and both lost their mother due to Bach's actions.

Uryu did this before Ichigo but Uryu did save Ichigo twice in a sense, first time when he used his quincy ability to release the overexposed reiatsu that Ichigo had gathered and was consuming him and again when he helped to keep Ichigo's humanity when he was on a dead set bloodlust to kill Ulqui. On the otherhand what has Ichigo done for Uryu in context? Again it was Uryu that arrived in time to warn Ichigo that it was Ginjo who attacked him but when you think of things as a whole Ichigo never really "saved" Uryu at all.

Even Chad and Orihime saved Uryu at one point or another, Chad when they were heading to Soul Society and he picked him up to help him make it before being touched by the cleaner and Orhime saved him by using her powers to help soften the fall upon invading SS as well as protecting him from the bomb blast set by Mayuri.

It's rather interesting when you think about it in that sense cause while Ichigo and Uryu have been through quite a bit in the grand scheme of things Ichigo hasn't really done much to "save" Uryu the closest he did to that was destroying the Menos Grande that appeared in KT. Ryuken saved Uryu from a hollow. Even Renji "saved" Uryu through tag team effort even though their foe was more than they could handle.

Though reason I mention all this is mainly related to Ichigo's full hollow form and what Uryu did to save him. I wonder if something similar may happen, since we already saw Uryu attack and discourage Ichigo from coming any closer to Bach but again that could be in an effort to save him since it's very possible Bach wants Ichigo to go up with him but he doesn't want to lead on Ichigo to believe that. The reason he set things as he did was to entice Ichigo to come back up but in a way where the rest of the Gotei 13 woudln't follow. I woudln't be surprised if something does occur in the sense that Ichigo falls into Bach's plan and Uryu expresses frustration over Ichigo not listening to him since he never does.
