Welp saw the live action bleach and... and... it's surprisingly worth a watch. It has a few cringy moments but that is more because it's bleach rather than because its bad.

I watched it on netflix.Where?
) and have really been enjoying it so far and I would love to have at least the SS arc in full colour (currently thinking about doing chapter 71+, maybe more!), I can do most of the editing myself (maybe an advanced redrawer would be nice, but not needed) but I'm mainly looking for a translator that can translate at least a few chapters a week.
I was never quite an anime viewer tbh. I'd be very interested if, say, they make the anime different from the manga. As in, they change stuff that made the manga not quite work towards the end and include plot which didn't make it to the manga but appeared in spin off material. For example, a particularly bad moment in the manga was when ichigo returned from the royal palace to SS. The return trip took ichigo something like.... a day IIRC? And when ichigo got to SS he did jack shit and had to immediately rush back to the royal palace. And then not showing all the royal guard abilities and bankai... or ukitake's and shinji's bankai... Or the vaizards for some reason not using mask and bankai.Anyone else excited for the return of Bleach? @kkck
I'm not a big anime guy either. However, TYBW had some of the best moments so it would be cool to see them animated especially Ichibei, Kenpachi vs Unohana, and Yama's bankai.I was never quite an anime viewer tbh. I'm not much of an anime viewer either, and honestly I went off the Bleach anime a long time before it ended. Started finding the animation really sloppy dull tbh. But I agree, I might find it worth my time if they flesh the final arc out. And there's a lot to address if they do do that - what did Senjumaru do that got her a royal guard position? What exactly was the nature of Yhwach's relation to the Soul King? Was he a literal son or another body part that became independent? Did SS actually plan to have Aizen do anything or did they just bring him out so he could sit in a chair for an afternoon? The entire timeline could use clearing up, too.I was never quite an anime viewer tbh. I'd be very interested if, say, they make the anime different from the manga. A bunch of those were mentioned either in the manga or extended universe, so to speak, stuff.I'm not much of an anime viewer either, and honestly I went off the Bleach anime a long time before it ended. I know the novel explains some of this and more, but is it even canon? Would be nice to have stuff like this officially pinned down.
But if the anime is a direct adaptation of the manga, shitty ending and all, then tbh I can't say I care..
Ah, I didn't know about Shunsui's plan with Aizen. To be honest I only read some summaries of parts of Can't Fear Your Own World, so there are things I missed. But yeah, Yhwach seems distinct from all the other SK parts. They take on their own names and identities, but they're still referred to as "hand" or "heart", whereas Yhwach calls himself "son", which could just be his ego talking I suppose. And then there's the question of how he ended up being born in some random village somewhere in what appears to be the human world.A bunch of those were mentioned either in the manga or extended universe, so to speak, stuff.
Senjumaru made the shinigami uniform. The significance of that is unclear though.
Dunno about the soul king and his relationship to juhabach but an interesting tibbit is that most of his organs were allied with the quincy, the only exception being the one ukitake kept with himself. Juahabach also seemed surprised that mimihagi would side with the shinigami.
IIRC shunsui did plan to have aizen become the soul king. It kinda looks more like the soul king was a bit of a prisoner rather than being in control. One of the novels apparently makes the point that the royal guard in reality worked for the noble families rather than the soul king.
I really want to see Aizen vs Yhwach! I also wonder if they'll show Ichigo's bankai properly before it gets destroyedThere's only 4 things I want to see in the anime. Ichibei vs Yhwach and Yama vs Yhwach. Kyoraku's bankai will be nice to see animated as well. Also the stomp of Squad Zero
Ichigo, Ichibei and Aizen were on the 5 special powers list. It's honestly hard to tell how exactly to even measure them.... ichigo and aizen both had trancendental reiatsu and that whole thing with it being above what mere mortals could feel. But ichigo just used it the one time and aizen kept it but it seemed inferior to juhabach's power towards the story's end. Overall kubo just ignored ichigo's transcendental power and never elaborated on what a zampakuto fused to the arm meant. And instead ichigo went with a completely different set of powers development. He got a zampakuto to embody both his quincy and shinigami powers and we never quite found out what his bankai did.
Yamamoto in turn had massive power. To the point where juhabach, a fairly powerful being at the arc's start, saw to weaken yamamoto before dealing with him. I doubt anyone in the royal guard had more power raw power than yamamoto at least. Ichibei was fairly hax though his abilities were... different. Dunno what his ink would do against something like the living sun yamamoto became through his bankai.
With that in mind, I have no idea of where ichigo would be ranked... I am a bit of the idea that the strongest ichigo we saw was the transcendental one that defeated aizen because his reiatsu was a step above even hyogoku aizen. Though its impossible to tell if this ichigo was stronger than juhabach. All we can know is that juhabach regarded ichigo as strong at the series' end so perhaps transcendental ichigo might have been stronger than end of story juhabach. But as i said, its impossible to know. After all, it took a silver bullet to defeat juhabach....

Ichigo was a bit of a dumbass against aizen though. He had a very comfortable advantage and still went for his final getsuga tensho.... which didn't kill aizen but also left ichigo needlessly drained.Ichigo, Ichibei and Aizen were on the 5 special powers list.
Ichibei isn't only hax, his ink is next level but he was able to crush Yhwach's throat and is extremely fast. Aizen and Ichigo I agree with but if it wasn't for Kisuke, Azien would've killed Ichigo. Yamamoto is easily top 5.

Trailing them would be Shunsui and Zaraki.
I think that was supposed to set up Kisuke.Ichigo was a bit of a dumbass against aizen though. He had a very comfortable advantage and still went for his final getsuga tensho.... which didn't kill aizen but also left ichigo needlessly drained.
If Yama wears black then it's game over. I think Ichibei's ink hax is >> Yama's bankai. Though both should've kicked Yhwach's ass but then Almighty bs came along.Yeah, ichibei was a beast all around, no doubt about that. But so was yamamoto... He could punch strong arrancar out of existence without even using his zampakuto. It really depends on whether ichibei can write on yamamoto though.
Byakuya IMO is the 3rd strongest captain after those 2. Shunsui is the CC, has high battle IQ and like you said, his bankai is broken. From what I've seen, I'd say that Zaraki and Shunsui are comfortably ahead of everyone else.I agree that zaraki probably trails them but I don't think shunsui necessarily does. Byakuya deserves at least a mention there. the guy became so powerful at the end that his shikai looked like a bankai. He also easily defeated 3 or 6 (don't remember the exact amount) sternritter on his own to boot. And that considering every sternriter was at least captain level or above... I am not sure if byakuya could fight off shunsui's bankai (which is broken) but there is a good chance that overall byakuya is stronger.
I don't know why Renji didn't become a captain but he's definitely strong enough for it. Shinji isn't necessarily a combat fighter though. He's more maneuver and hax. Toshiro is wierd. Was losing pretty badly to Bazz-B but then had powered up greatly against Gerard. And then... there are several shinigami with rather absurd abilities which are just hard to quantify. I don't think renji holds a candle to byakuya but in terms of overall abilities he probably is top tier in the gotei 13 considering how he defeated mask without that much trouble with his bankai. Shinji is probably not THAT powerful in straight combat but his bankai seems absurd if we go by the novels. Hitsugaya can apparently power up to about byakuya's level or near it at least...
Like I said, the top 5 are agreed by mostly everyone. Ichigo, Yhwach, Ichibei, Yama and Aizen.I suppose the list for me would end up something like
1.- Transcendental ichigo (maybe)
2.- Juhabach
3.- Aizen
4.- EOS ichigo (though he might be stronger than aizen)
5.- Yamamoto
6.- ichibei
Royal Guard as in Squad Zero? Yea I don't buy the whole Squad Zero combined is stronger than the Gotei 13 combined. The only person that individually beats them all is Ichibei with the exception of Yama but he's gone. The royal guard is exceptional of course but based on their actual performance I am not necessarily convinced that individually each was stronger than every individual gotei 13 captain. Unohana, kenpachi, shunsui or byakuya seem like they could put up a fight against some royals at least.
