Swiss rank2, Greece rank10, Aus rank18, Japan rank23.

So I was thinking about it. But to keep it short.

Amadeus should not play vs Japan. They are super weak, why would you waste your pro. Heck the only reason for Amadeus to play would be to please fans, but fighting Japan would just be like brutal overkill.
This is sad because I'm sure many of us want to see a good team match. But as it stands Swiss should send their weakest out vs Japan, which means Japan can win. Of course even the weak Swiss will be strong, but this might mean in the real tournament Amadeus and others will recognize and target Japan.

Dorgas vs Atobe will obviously happen.
Dorgas must be weak. Aus would send their best team vs Greece, second best team vs Japan. So Dorgas isn't trash, but he won't be the best Aus player. Also makes me wonder what Single they will send Atobe Dorgas.

I, too, was thinking Amadeus would only spectate but not play. He should save himself for Germany/France/Spain.
Swiss would win the block with Japan coming 2nd. This is like the round robin at the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals. The best 2 from each group move on.

But if Swiss sends their weakest team vs Japan (lowest rank), Japan can totally surprise them. We are giving Japan some hero bonus here saying Rank23 is a misplacement.
I guess even Tohno doesn't think they can beat Swiss (send all the MS there). But this is a good chance to surprise the world.

Personally, I think some of the lesser important characters need a significant loss for potential growth, ie: Kirihara and Kite.
Only if the Swiss send out their weaker ones would Japan stand a chance. If they send out the higher ranked, Japan only has a chance of winning one match.

It really depends on how the other teams evaluate Japan after the exhibition with Germany. While they lost in the end, they did take one match and also 3 games vs Volk. And that's without their captain playing who they would probably evaluate as the strongest member of the team with the information they possess. I won't be surprised if that puts Japan above both Greece and Australia in the eyes of the other teams, so if Amadeus plays I can definitely see it happening vs Japan (although I won't be surprised if he doesn't play at all in the group league) and Dorgias can also face Japan as Australia's strongest player in my eyes.
