I'm curious what this second part is gonna be about. I mean we beat the Gun Devil, "Defeated" Makima (unless something happened in the spoilers I haven't read), and half the cast is gone. What else is there to do?

Depends on how it ends. I'm a little surprised there is more coming since this very much feels like and end point. It REALLY doesn't feel like the launching point for more story to me.

That said, they could do something where he goes to hell to find the demons that died. It would be a way to bring like Power and Reze back in. Maybe Makima, assuming she dies. Is that a good idea? I'm a little iffy on it. But they could certainly do that.

Or they could do like a more shounen-style "hunting down the source of devils manifesting in the world" arc for part 2. But that definitely doesn't feel like a good idea to me. It is an option though, I guess.

岸辺とベンチに座ると犬目当てで子供が数人寄ってくる
マキマを全部食って、腹からも便所からも復活しなかったと伝える
岸辺「攻撃が通じないのにどうして殺すことができたのか」
デ「俺はマキマさんを傷つけるつもりなんてないんです　本気でそう思ってるんですよ」
「俺はマキマさんを食べて一つになった…」

岸「契約内容か認識の問題をたまたまうまくつけたんだろうな」
マキマに気付かれず攻撃できた理由を問われ、マキマは俺たちを匂いで見ていると察していたと言うデンジ

気になるやつの匂いだけしか覚えてない」
「俺はね　賭けたんですよ」
「マキマさんが俺じゃなくてずーっとチェンソーマンしか見てないことに」
「俺んことなんて最初から一度も見てくれなかったんだ…」
悲しい顔をしてそう話す

子供が遊びに戻って行っても1人犬に構い続けその場に残る女の子
女の子は秘密の話をしてるからどっかいけと振り払うデンジの指を噛む
デ「この噛む力は…？！マキマさん？！」
中国で発見されたのを盗んできたこと、マキマは死んで、それはもうただの支配の悪魔であること、記憶も何も残っていないこと
国に任せたらまたマキマみたいになるし、自分は忙しいからデンジに任せることを伝えられ、断るものの気づいたらその場から岸辺は去り、デンジと支配の悪魔の2人きりになる
犬になってる支配の悪魔に名前を聞くと、ナユタだと名乗る
デ「はあ…ナユタ　何か食いてえもんあっか？肉以外で」
ナユタ「食パン」
デ「随分安上がりな悪魔だな」
デンジみたいなピースをするナユタ
ナユタをおんぶし犬を引き連れ家に帰り食パンを2人で食べ、眠る

「支配の悪魔はね」「ずっと他者との対等な関係を築きたかったんだ」
「恐怖の力でしか関係を築けない彼女にとっては　家族のようなものにずっと憧れていた」
「それで間違った方法だけどそういう世界を作りたかったんだ」
「だからデンジがそういう世界を作ってあげてね」
デンジ「ポチタ…どうやって…？」
ニッコリするポチタ
「たくさん抱きしめてあげて」

Well, I feel like we have so much potential for world building, such as the erased devils, the people immune to Makima´s manipulation, potential revival of those who have died such as Power, politics and all that, Pochita´s true form and how he came to be, etc.

However, I do feel we are lacking a drive to dive into all those things. Like how Denji at first wanted to please Makima, then kill her, or naruto wanting to become hokage, and so on.

Do wonder how the author will tackle this.

I finally decided to read his other work, Fire Punch. Gotta say, thought it was a much better manga, and I quite like Chainsaw Man, so it's more praise for Fire Punch than insult to CM. This mangaka is great, can't wait for his next.

denji explains he understood that she looks at people through smell and and only remembers the smell of people she's interested in, so denji bet on the fact that makima wasn't looking at him but was actually interested in Chainsaw Man and she never looked at him.

Kishibe doesn't understand how Denji managed to kill Makima even though attacks even tho attacks don't work on her and then Denji says that he didn't attack with the intention to hurt, it was love


at the start of the chapter, denji tells kishibe that he ate all of Makima, and she didn't revive even after he went to poop.

I'm incredibly annoyed by that last chapter. So very annoyed.

Here's why I feel that way. I actually really like the dream reveal for Pochita and Makima. The "all he wanted was to hold someone and couldn't because he literally had chainsaws for hands" that is a good thematic motivation and potentially a good metaphor too. Makima a demon whose ability is control and domination wanting an equal relationship similarly is a good motivation for those same reasons. All of that works really well.

Here's the thing though. You can't just toss that out there at the last second with exposition! That's terrible.

You need to hint at those motivations being a thing and build up to it. Introduce those concepts with characters like Reze and Power. What were theirs? Build up the mystery of what those dreams were. Those are great idea's you build a whole character arc and series around. You can't just toss it in there with epilogue exposition. Ugh, I'm so annoyed.
